when did you plan for #2??

DH and I just had the conversation this morning about when to think about trying for #2.  We decided to try for BFP this coming June, making DS and #2 20 months apart.  We have not decided on having 2 or 3 kids, but we do want them all to be about this far apart in age. Does this sound crazy? 

How many of you planned to have 2u2 or did it just happen that way?

We started winging it when DS was 7 months...got my BFP two months in so they will be 18 months apart.  I think it will be tough going, but worth it because I'm hoping they'll be best buddies.  We wanted them close together!

Mine will be 26 mos apart and 100% planned.  I think it will be hard, but hoping that having them close together will also allow for them to be friends (most of the time!) and that we will also be done with the diapers, etc sooner rather than later.  My siblings and I are spread over 10 years.  My mother felt like she was never done diapering, potty training, etc.  We are a happy family, but it might have been a bit easier had we been closer together.  Although...both have their pluses and minuses.  There weren't 2 kids in daycare or college at the same time, none of use were driving and living at home at the same time, etc.

My 2 are 13.5 months apart and it was most definitely planned that way! We knew from the very beginning we wanted our kids close. We started trying when DD was 4-5 months old and luckily got pregnant right away. DS did come 5 weeks early so they are a little closer together than we thought but we love it!

One thing that did change was how many kids we wanted. Before DS we wanted 3. Now that DS is here we are 100% happy with 2. DS completes our family and we had no idea that would happen! We are pleasantly surprised at how complete our family feels!

My girls are 16.5 months apart. We decided to try for #2 right around when DD1 was 6 months old. I got my IUD out shortly after, first period started when she was about 7 months old and we conceived that first month. She was just over 8 months when I got my BFP.

We were initially planning on doing 18 months apart. However, one night of pull and pray for birth control and they're 12.5 months apart. LOL. I am glad they ended up being closer to 1 year apart vs 2 years apart. I think that made things easier in a lot of ways.

We planned for 2 under 2. We wanted them about 19 or so months apart. When LO was 10 months old we began "seeing what happens." We got a BFP the same month. This time around we plan to start trying after DD turns 1.

We planned to have 2u2.  I ended up having 3 m/c in between our 2 kids. They are 25 months apart.

We planned it and started TTC when DD#1 was 9 months old.  DD#1 and DS are 19 months apart.  We love the age gap and it worked well for us.  Our older kids play very well together and are interested in some of the same things.  They look out for each other on playgrounds,etc. 

We started TTC #3 when DS was 9 months old and would have loved to have another 2u2 but we struggled with secondary infertility and didn't have DD#2 (thanks to Clomid!) until DD#1 was 5 and DS was 3 1/2. 

For #4, we figured we would just "see what happens" given how long it took us to conceive DD#2.  I got pregnant when DD#2 was 4 months old but I lost that baby.  I then got pregnant when DD#2 was 7 months old and were thrilled!  Sadly, we lost our son at 22 weeks.

I am currently 29 weeks pregnant with our final baby.  DD#1 will be 7, DS will be 5 1/2, DD#2 will be 25 months when this baby arrives.

We started discussing #2 when DD1 was around 6 months old. We started TTC #2 when DD1 was 9 months old and, as it so happened, I got pregnant on the first cycle. My girls are 18 months apart.

We planned ours, #1 and #2 are exactly 18 months apart.  #2 and #3 are 17 months apart and completely planned.  You are not crazy, I think it's great having them close in age:)

Oops I just created a new post.. didn't see this one! Our DS is 6 months and we are thinking of trying in the next few months.. so hoping to get a BFP between when DS is 9mos/12 mos.. if all goes well.  Though.. still thinking about it all... :P

We actually never returned to bcp after our first DD. We ended up having IF issues and it took 5 years and IVF/ICSI to get our 2nd. She is turning 5 months tomorrow and we got a HUGE surprise and are actually pregnant naturally! Obviously - things never go as expected. I never thought my first 2 would be 6 yrs apart or my last 2 would be 12 months apart hahaha! I am wishing you the best. You and DH know when it's the right time - which doesn't make you crazy at all!

We want a big family (5+ kids) so naturally we knew they would end up close in age. I BFed DD so we never "prevented" but didn't get PG until she was about 11 months old (so ours are 20 months apart)

I love the age that she is right now and think it was the perfect time to add another one. I wouldn't mind if the next one is a little bit sooner but I definitely don't want them more than 2.5+ years apart. Just my preference!
