Yeah well im not good at calming down sometimes. I AM NEW at being pregnant and obviously freaked out. Those of you who have been pregnant before or are mothers have the benefit of already knowing. I dont like you rach03k!! So do ME a favor and dont be such a rude ass****!! How about that! I think its ridiculous about all the preaching when your acting like mean girls in high school!! I dont see any reason to be rude, mean, and hurtful until you have an actual reason or personal attack coming at you!! Let me tell you I dont put up with it. Come at me and im gonna come right back. Quit responding if its such b/s for you!
::raises hand::
Uhhhh this is my first child and you don't see me acting like a raving lunatic over something so petty and ridiculous. Your "whoo-hoo" (as you so eloquently put it) will go back to normal after a little while. Stop being so damn self centered and suck it up.
I feel like as "mommy" it's my job to do what's best for the baby, not necessarily what's most comfortable for me. If vaginal birth is what's safest for the baby, then that's the way it's gonna happen. If c-section is safer, for whatever reason, we'll go with that. The bottom line is I'm going to listen to what my Dr. says is best. They're the expert. They don't need me to tell them how to do their job.
I had a c-section with my first and it was horrible!! Very painful and you still bleed like you would after having a vaginal birth. I'm hoping to have this baby the right way this time. Last time I spent 4 weeks just trying to recoup from the c-section that I couldn't really enjoy my time off with the baby.
I think it's sad you think there is a "right way" for a baby to come out I feel that anyway a baby comes out alive is the right way.
I think you are overly hormonal... They probably meant the natural way! Geez people just like to hate and be overly dramatic on here. Time for a hormone check...
I honestly had no idea what happens down there after giving birth. Really. I understood that things would stretch out and it would be painful... but tearing, weeks of bleeding, wearing ice packs in your mesh panties, and having to rinse after a pee? How would someone know that? No one talks about it, it isn't in the movies, etc. Do they show that on Teen Mom? I don't think it is that ridiculous that someone doesn't know.
For the record, yes, this is an unplanned pregnancy for us. We are both college educated. The pill is not %100 effective. So you can be a responsible person, get pregnant w/o planning, not be an idiot, and still not be aware of the details of childbirth either vaginal or c-section.
While OP does seem a bit over-the-top, I think that some people here can drop their attitutdes.
How could you not know before getting pregnant that this is how babies are born?
C/S are major abdominal surgery and I think you are minimizing that.
Also, OP, just a friendly reminder that you are = you're, NOT your. Sorry, one of my biggest pet peeves.
This...
also, tomorrow. not tomarrow.
Who cares!?! It's a waste of posts correcting grammar! If that makes you feel smarter in real life that you can correct someone on a forum, then it also shows your immaturity. It's not like you don't know what they are trying to say. Geez!

Thank you! I'm a first timer too, and was fully aware of the things that my vag would go through during childbirth if I did so vaginally. Part of being a responsible adult that has sex is to know the consequences. When we started TTC, I started reading up on childbirth. OP, your immaturity and lack of sense is disturbing.
Wow. I advise you to try and become an OB quickly, because there aren't many respected Drs. who will give you a c/s "just because you want one". It's a very invasive procedure and comes with a lot of risks.
What the eff did you think was going to happen?? That you could put a little Crisco down there and the baby would just bolt out like a luger? What is the matter with you?
LMAO!!

Leave this poor girl alone already. Of course women know how babies come out, but I understand that she didn't fully get how much trauma can happen with it. And what the PP above me wrote is SO true. If she was refusing a C-section, no one would even dare to say a word against her. WHATEVER way the baby comes out and is healthy is the RIGHT way. There are pros and cons to both types of delivery. I have attended hundreds of births, c/s and vag deliveries and I can tell you that there are risks with both. I have seen god awful vag deliveries where the babies get stuck and having to be yanked out with big giant spoons (forceps) or a shop vac on their heads which let me tell you does more traumatic things to a baby than a c/s. And I have also seen c/s where the baby had issues clearing fluid once born cuz they weren't squeezed. The bottom line is every woman should be allowed to decide what is right for her and not be crucified for it. Some woman do practically kill themselves and their babies just so they can deliver "naturally" and people think they are heroes for it. But yet someone says they want a c/s and suddenly they are immature and stupid. It is her body and her baby and her choice. Not saying you can't disagree with her, but there is no need for name calling.

My mother is a L&D RN and you have valid points that I agree with. I certainly have never side-eyed someone who got a c-section and would definitely not turn one down for myself if it were medically necessary. The problem I have with the original post is that she says she wants a c-section solely because she is worried about her vagina going back the way it was.
If that's the only reason you would want to have a c-section, I think that is incredibly self-centered and misguided. When you get pregnant, it shouldn't be all about you anymore. It should be about what is best for the baby, whether that be a vaginal or a cesarean delivery.
Ok well first off I have no idea this was such a hot button topic. Second I have no idea what MUD is?! Third I never thought birth an any form was a cake walk, easy or using crisco would just let the baby fall out!! I just had no idea that all this happened and the details of what happens. It totally freaks me out. I never thought well great the stork will drop the baby off or yes a surgery is going to be a cake walk. I am aware either way they are both hard work. But I dont want my vagina for those who dont like whoo hoo, was going to be so tramatized in so many ways!! Either way this was not meant to start a lashing of ridiculous! I was just totally freaked out. Thanks to those who were supportive!!
- Are you a pornstar? Exactly how much time do you spend hovering over a mirror staring at your vag? And how much time do other people other than your partner spend looking at it? I'm just wondering why it is so important to you to preserve its current state of loveliness.
- Vag merging with your anus? What breed of dinosaur are you expecting, exactly?
- I'd love to hear your plan for keeping your perfect vagina from aging, as I'm pretty sure when you're 70 years old it's not going to look like a pretty blooming flower anymore.

Amen. RN, I don't see how you can label her a "poor girl" because she is willing to choose major, potentially dangerous surgery just for the sake of vaginal hubris.

I have pushed out 3 kids out of me the natural way, and it was not until after I had my 3rd child and a divorce did I meet my DH now and I will tell you, I have no complaints about down there...in fact he could not even tell I ever had 3 kids. I plan to have a vaginal birth this go around...God willing and I know I will have no complaints again...do you kegals.
I heard if you have a vaj birth it (the vaj) might fall out and never fully go back in. Plus, tampons won't stay in anymore.
um?? Not sure where you heard this info but I assure you that is wrong. Your vag cannot fall out, and again I say, I have had 3 kids come out of my vag and I still wear tampons every month and they work perfectly.
Why is it when people start talking about their right to choose delivery methods the benefits for the baby (and mother!) going through a vaginal birth fly out the window!?
Babies born via c-section don't go through the birth canal, and thus are not exposed to a multitude of healthy bacteria. This bacteria is important for the proper formation of the baby's immune system and digestion track.
Babies born vaginally have had the amniotic fluid squeezed from their lungs, thus helping breathing after birth.
Mothers undergoing c-sections have delayed or impaired milk production for breastfeeding.
Finally, mothers and babies of vaginal deliveries experience significantly higher levels of oxytocin (the love hormone) and therefore experience significantly higher amounts of bonding.
Good information, I wasn't aware of any of these. Thanks for sharing. This is how this discussion should have been!

Wow, bishes going all crazy up in here. I forgot how full of win 1st Tri was.
OP, don't just worry about your vagina...your boobs are going to sag to your knees and flop into your armpits when you lay down to go to sleep. Start saving up now for your second elective surgery!

If you're just now beginning to research birth, you're a little late to the party. And no reputable doctor will let you have a c-section because you're afraid of what your lady bits will look like when it's all over. Grow up.

Yes your vagina can "fall out". It is called vaginal prolapse. A very dear friend of mine had to have surgery to fix it a few years ago.

Jeni I will hold your hair if you hold mine. I am so glad that I had to have a c/s because the baby went into distress. Because now since she is soooooo sick all the time, never ate as a baby and doesn't love me, I won't have to worry about paying for college or a wedding.
FWIW, my child has never been sick, with the exception of a stuffy nose twice a year, my milk came in the day after I delivered, and I nursed for 14 months until *I* decided to stop.
I also don't think I could love this kid more than I already do, and oddly enough, she kinda loves me too.
My Book BlogA Lucy, a lost tube, two lost babies, and another on the way!
