Re: *~*~FFFC*~*~*

  • So I'm a little tired of people on here (and  truly am not calling out anyone in particular or I would name names) acting like others have character flaws because they disagree with their opinion.  It happens all of the time about everything on this board.  OMG - you didn't have sex before you were married?!? How can you possibly do that! or OMG - your dh doesn't cook - you must be some sorry human being to stay married to a piece of crap like that. or OMG - you turned your kid FF after it was leagal? don't you CARE about your kid?

All of these are differences of opinion and it's okay that people don't agree with you.  Get over yourself, you're not as perfect as you like to think you are. (General you)

I am considering putting out just so I can fantasize that I'm doing it w/ Dane Cook.  I watched "My Best Friend's Girl" a few weeks ago and the scene where he's walking up the aisle at the church, dressed in all black to Johnny Cash's "The Man Comes Around" makes me want to take my clothes off.

    Definitely

But Lpennie, that wasn't how I took your post at first. I guess I can see what you're saying. I thought maybe they were like joking with you? I didn't know they were saying it to be mean and hateful?? I don't know. We all have things we get sensitive about I guess.

I was dismayed by the UO posted yesterday regarding alcohol consumption. Specifically,  a number of you can't fathom that some people are able to have a healthy relationship with alcohol. And that's it's perfectly OK to have that healthy relationship (i.e. enjoy a nice glass of wine, like to meet friends out for food and drinks, offer beer and wine at a toddler birthday party).

I am truly sorry for the tragedies that may have spurred the opinion, but to call normal alcohol consumption 'disgusting' seems a little....extremist.  I am disgusted by people who hurt children and small furry creatures, not someone having a glass of wine at a family gathering.

I've noticed this too. We drink  a glass of wine with dinner a few times a week, whoop-de-do. Gotta love the Puritan roots of the US.

I don't have much desire for this board anymore since I've had my m/c last week.  Mainly because right now there are so many people that are pregnant that post pregnancy related things and it hurts.  I spend more of my time on the m/c/PL board.

I'm also kind of put off that a few people I know have not even bothered to acknowledge my m/c and haven't said a word about it.  I realize that some people don't know what to say,  but you can't even acknowledge it?  That really hurts my feelings.

    end pity party/vent.

I have 2. The local news ran a story about home alarms being a scam. I was happy to see this because they really are. And I also know that the place I used to work was going crazy with phone calls because of the story and that made me happy. Also, I hate watching movies/tv shows that are either set or have a character from Texas. They always have these thick thick accents that I have never heard and people in Texas don't sound like hicks. The only thing that we do is say yall and call any form of soda Coke. Oh and call "access roads" feeder, and I think that is just in Houston. And I also stand by what I said about home alarms, I would put money on the fact that half of yalls don't work even though it makes noise. And the sad part the alarm company will blame you for it. And I doubt this post makes any sense because I am posting from my phone. And I am sad I won't be able to respond because I don't have the patience for the page to load. So if you have something to say email me! Thenerdykatie @gmail.com . And I am really bored. And rambling. And PD is asleep.

My son can do animal noises (moo/baa/meow) and point to some body parts but he's still barely talking and won't walk unless he's "cruising". Blah.

Oh girl, me too! He is our family doc and he was my OB but not anymore. I PPH him. Such a nice nice guy.

  • I have 2:

We are hosting Thanksgiving this year at our house with my family and DH's family coming.  I really don't want his family there.  FIL is always unfriendly, MIL is always complaining and SIL is obnoxious and annoying.  They stress me out so much and I just want to enjoy my holiday with DH and DD.

MIL wanted to come over last sunday to see DD and I had a horrible migraine that woke me up at 4am.  It went away for a bit but kept trying to come back on and off through the day.  We weren't up for visitors and when DH told her that she got mad and said, "I just want to see her!".  It's nice to know that we matter...It made me mad that she didn't even ask if I was ok or even hoped that I feel better.  She never makes much effort to see us or DD but constantly complains that she never gets to see her Granddaughter.  I didn't feel that bad for her...

I say "yalls" and I am far from a hick. It comes from 4 years of school in NC. It works (which I also picked up in NC). There is a difference between using words like that (or Coke for soda, or Pop for soda, etc. etc. etc.) and having an accent and sounding like a hick. Do you say close the lights or turn off the lights? Do you say elemen-terry or ella-men-turry? All are bits and pieces of places I have lived.

Oh, please.  It's not like he's making fun of someone who is mentally disabled he's making fun of a cartoon character that the writers feel the need to "dumb down" in order to reach our children.  I think children can understand what's going on without going to the lengths they do on that show.

  • I have only spoke to my sister once since her wedding in September. At her reception, she cornered my mom's bf and said some horrible sh*t to him and about his daughers. She has always been the type of person that exaggerates everything to be in her favor to make her look better, or to make someone else look bad so she is the victim. Since she met her H, she has only gotten worse and it is to the point I don't want to be around her and I don't want Kate growing up with that influence. She has also openly admitted to me that she purposely goes for low blows when she gets upset. She has made no attempt to change her bahavior and to me it is almost unforgiveable.

My confession is that she and mom my finally talked about it (my mom was obviously very upset). My mom is still deciding whether or not to invite her to Thanksgiving, but I wish she wouldn't. At this point, I am happy not talking to her or being around her and I don't really want that to change yet. It has been such a relief not to have her in my life these past few months.

How is he not making fun of mentally disabled people? Really, I want to know. You specifically said special education..what does special education refer to? Your marginalizing a group of people - whether you are talking about a cartoon character or not.

  • My cousin, we have a very sister like relationship, accidently got pregnant at 16, my DS and her DD were born 6 weeks apart.  She got married right after she got pg.  She is now 19, had big marital problems over the summer, but just got pg on purpose again.  I am so jealous., DH and I are not in a emotional or financial place to ttc, but when she told me I was not happy for her felt judgmental and jealous.  I suck.
  • I haven't read them all yet, so I don't know if this thread is already a land mine, but I have two. And they are both kind of bitchy and more of UOs lol

    1. I am disgusted by all the husbands making a big deal out of little boys playing with toy kitchens. (and I am not calling anyone specific out because there have been several posts like this) Seriously?!?! Emeril, Bobby Flay, Mario Batalli, Wolfgang Puck...I could go on. If my husband were so closed minded (and apparently homophobic), there would def. be a come to Jesus talk in this house

    2. I just checked my FB homepage and I am really surprised by all the fanatic New Moon statuses today. I don't get it. GROW UP. It's a movie about vampires.  I'm glad you enjoy it, but you're thirty-some years old!! And I hate to tell you this, but *whispering* they aren't real characters.

I swear I'm not in a bad mood today lol...just thinking about this stuff

  • I get upset when women find out the gender of the baby.  I don't know why it bugs me so much!  I just feel sad that they won't know what they're missing out on by waiting until delivery day.  What should I care, it's their loss! lol
