One book is not enough to get all the info there is.
By the way, the measles death rate declined by 99% before the vaccine was even recommended.
As for polio--it was decreasing, too, and there is now evidence that many cases diagnosed as polio were actually cases of guillaine-barre syndrome (which my brother actually was a victim of thanks to a vaccine). FDR actually had guillaine-barre and not polio. There is a ton of info out there on polio, and it's very enlightening.

you can find literature that says absolutely anything. i have done research but at the end of the day i'm going to trust the people who have been to medical school. pretty sure they're more reliable than you and your research.

Lol at natural immunity...so those that vaccinate aren't using their "natural" immunity? Except for the immuno-compromised, we all use our immune systems daily. That's exactly what vaccines are set up to do - use the body's "natural" immune system to fight off these deadly diseases, allowing the person who comes across the disease to have a milder reaction (or none at all) instead of the full-blown disease. Do you know how an immune system works? Not trying to be snarky, but just wanted to know if you knew the fundamentals here...

I agree. I feel like if my child got sick I would want someone or something to blame too. And it is possible it does even though it was proven not true. Both of my step sons had the signs before the MMR. Let me tell you that they didn't notice the 1st borns signs until after. You can miss the easily. DH looks back now and can see the signs the flapping, eye contact, spinning, lining things up. Autistic kids can go through a social regress. At two this kid new all the planets in order and the Alphabet in multiple languages not long after he stopped talking for awhile. It comes in waves with the anxiety. Now you're lucky if he doesn't talk in third person.

Pretty sure measles is the leading cause of vaccine-preventable deaths among young children. But what does the CDC know??

I would love to see your research on this.
Yes, I do. Do you?
There are always going to be debates in the medical world. In the end we will all do what we feel is right for our children. I may not agree with some people's methods but that does not make them "ignorant" or "bad parents" it just means they have different view points than me.
and i agree with you to a point. but what i dont agree with is why any mother (after research!!) would say "yes stick my child with 5 different vaxes! i won't know which one it is if s/he has a reaction, but go ahead!!!"
This is what I'm talking about. I can make any sh!t up saying "it is PROVEN that kids who get vaccs start sprouting horns at age 5." but nobody's gonna listen unless I give a source.
Source please.
I agree. However, it was still based on one study. Proven true or proven not true, it was one study.
yes one study. which im sure pharmaceuticals had a hand in... just saying... LOL
There is a blog out there I saw of a Dad who swore the R gave his 1st Autism. The second didn't get vaccinated and ended up having it too.
While we are on theories. My theory DH's ex has mental disored in her family.
Anyways
Goodhearted yes I did other research. The research led me to my pedi and his reseach is all in this PDF off his site where he also sites his sources and explains the reasoning.
She just described how an immune system works. And I believe she's been to med school. Therefore, I'm going with yes on this one.
Which illnesses are you talking about? The common cold? Or measles?
Pretty sure measles is the leading cause of vaccine-preventable deaths among young children. But what does the CDC know??
My pedi won't do this. She does 1 or 2 at a time and watches for reactions. So far there have been none. We did it this way because he had a hard birth, low birth weight, etc. I also think it was a good way to do it for both Luke and I.
oh i agree with you. but when you are a mother of a child and have no "fear" of the MMR vax (ie: no reason to blame it) and then your child completely flips? that is odd. it wasn't a slow regression - at all.
you are in the minority my friend. (thats how we do it too for the most part)
Yes, thank you. I could BORE you with the mundane details and ins and outs of the immune system. FAR more than anyone would care to know, I'm sure.
