I am 6w6d today. I had pink discharge spotting this morning and cramps the whole rest of the day. I am so scared! I don't go for my first appointment until 4/5 and my first US won't be scheduled until after that appointment. If any of you have been through this please feel free to reach out. I am worrying myself sick.
We had our first ultrasound Tuesday. I was 8 weeks 2 days from my LMP. There are 2 sacs that are measuring at 6 weeks and the other at 5 weeks, 3 days. There were no visible babies in either sac but my doctor seemed pretty optimistic that they are just too small right now and scheduled me for another ultrasound April 10th to see if anything has progressed. She sent me for lab work right after the ultrasound to get a baseline on my HCG levels and then I got more blood taken Thursday to see if my levels raised at all. They did rise. I’m just wondering if this has happened to anyone else here? A google search definitely showed it’s possible and that you can see a baby and heartbeat a little further out, but wondering if anyone has experienced this first-hand and what the outcome was? My husband and I are trying to remain optimistic and hope for the best. We have only been married a couple months and we planned to have a baby right away so we are pretty ecstatic at the possibility of twins!
This same exact thing happened to me except I have a single lol. It’s very hard to play the waiting game but we’re in this together. My us is on the 12th. Keep us updated
I had a lot of cramping! I found out super early. At like 3 weeks I thought I was pregnant and had cramping. Week 4 and 5 lots of cramping. I’m 6w5d and I will say it’s getting fewer and farther in between. It is super scary, but I just had to tell myself as long as I’m not bleeding and it’s not severe I’m doing okay!
Has anyone else had light brown spotting and pink spotting? It’s super light. I put a regular tampon in to see what was going on and it was very light, didn’t cover the tampon and looked to have creamy discharge with it too. I’m 7w4days and worrying myself sick too! I had an ultrasound at 6w and saw a tiny bean and heart beat so that is reassuring, but had anyone else have similar symptoms?
@knottieacb115282de17fc3 don't use a tampon when pregnant. It's always best to monitor with a panty liner or a pad. I currently have a hematoma behind my placenta. Which has caused some bleeding. The best think to do is call your doctor. Realize they may just tell you to monitor and take it easy. No lifting, no sex, basically pelvic rest.

Sounds like a subchorionic hematoma. Do NOT use tampons.

I sold the majority of my maternity clothes before we moved last fall. What is everyone wearing or recommend? I'm getting to the point I'm going to need to switch my regular leggings for maternity leggings. I've also been eyeing the looser fitting jumpsuits and rompers, but I've never worn those in the past, so I have no idea if I like them, or if I like the idea of them lol.
@makingbacon I got rid of a lot of my stuff too. Fortunately kept a couple essentials. I like the blanqi brand leggings/shorts. I found a couple things at our local consignment shop and then ordered a few things from Amazon and pink blush. I also really like wearing dresses when pregnant, especially in the summer. I've been tempted by the jumpsuit things too but haven't tried yet.
@runsoncoffee or @nessa1632 do the Blanqi leggings have pockets? It didn’t look like it from the ads I saw and I’ve decided I’m not buying anymore leggings without pockets!

@nessa1632 how are you liking Nuuly? I have 0 maternity clothes because my first was a 2020 baby so we didn’t go anywhere and I just wore leggings all the time. This time around I’ll need some professional maternity clothes and I don’t feel like buying them!
Why is it so difficult to find maternity pants (specifically plus size ones) that aren't jeans or leggings? I can't wear either of those to work. In my previous pregnancies, I never really got much of a "bump" -- I just looked a little bigger in general -- but this time I actually have one and the clothes I was able to make do with in my previous pregnancies just aren't cutting it this time.
@chrissdee I’m not sure but I’m having a similar issue. I wear jeans to work but real jeans - like solid denim with steel toed boots for an industrial setting, even the jeans I do see aren’t very legit. So I guess I’m just piggy backing here - if anyone has advice I need some too lol. Preferably plus size, I rock about a size 20.
@chrissdee I don't know what sizes they are, but I had maternity dress pants from motherhood my first pregnancy when I was working. Can you wear dresses?
@chrissdee maternity pants suck. I just used the bella bands and wore my existing pants with them because otherwise I was constantly pulling them up just to stay on - horrible.
I got lucky and had a friend bring over her old maternity clothes. I've been wearing them all week and loving them. I need some maternity shorts and a suit for the summer. I decided I'll be doing a 2 piece and not a tankini the last time I was ashamed of my belly this time I'm like nope I might as well do a 2 piece when I can because I won't after for a while.
Hi all. At the 16 week ultrasound, we asked about the placenta as nothing had been said to that point. The OBGYN looked again and said it was anterior/lateral but it would move. She said this was normal. Has anyone else got info on this from the week 16 appointment? TIA
Hi! I had an anterior placenta with my first. While I was told it could move, it never did. The only “impact” I noticed was that it took longer to feel kicks; not a big deal. Oddly enough, most people I know have an anterior placenta as well. At my 12-week ultrasound for this baby it looked to be an anterior again. We’ll see if it moved at my next ultrasound in a few weeks
Does anyone know how high a fever has to be before calling your doctor? I’m currently down with some virus, and I have a low grade fever at this point, but I can’t find a consistent fever level. I also can’t find it in the OB packet they gave me, though I swear it was in there.
@makingbacon I would say 100.4 because lower than that isn’t considered a true fever. You can take Tylenol to try and keep it down. If your temp is still elevated on Tylenol I’d def call!

Looking for recommendations for a pillow to order. I’ve recently started getting uncomfortable and tossing and turning. Im short, wear a size 20 pant, and a stomach/side sleeper… anyone have a favorite magic pillow that might work?
@stevieraem I’ve always enjoyed my trusty snoogle. It’s got a great amount of head, bump, and thigh support. My husband loves it a lot less - it takes up a lot of room! If I needed a new one, I think I’d try to find one that had bump and thigh support but where I could use my own pillow

@stevieraem I purchased a baby bub set because it takes up less room (we have too many animals used to sharing our bed). So far so good, but it took a long time to ship to me.
I have another question…. (It’s almost like I’m a FTM or something) 🤣
when you guys were preparing for your first, how did you stop your hubby from freaking out?? Mine keep going thru this spiral of thoughts where he thinks we’re never going to make it financially and we don’t know what we’re doing… but we’re in our 30s and we both have stable jobs lol. I’m in the ‘well the cavemen figured it out’ mind space, and this poor man is in on the brink of insanity.
Love him dearly, we were trying for 5 years lol so it’s not unexpected, I just don’t know how to help the panicking weirdo. Advice???
@stevieraem - hmm that’s tough. The idea of needing knowing it all can be overwhelming! I think two thoughts might help.
1- as far as I’ve seen, no one feels completely ready. There’s no amount of reading or planning or financial savings that will make you feel like you’ve got it 100%. So I’d say to him that he’s not alone, and yet everyone somehow does figure it out! 2- it all builds slowly. At first, they need very little (financially and physically). Diapers and milk. The rest builds slowly. Luckily you don’t have to feed and wrangle a teenager and have all the money saved for college come November!
That being said there are a few books out there specifically geared toward men and helping them feel prepared in a different way than the books geared toward women. Maybe something like those can help him when he’s spiraling. For far I’ve found someone always has a book to help you get through troublesome spots with kids sleeping, eating, financial stuff etc
