Re: Introductions

  • Introduce yourself: I'm Kimberly, 42 from SE Pennsylvania

    Due date? November 25

How did you find out? We've been ttc for 2 years so I tested early because I'm impatient. I had my first c section with my youngest and they told me it was best to let myself heal and wait two years to ttc, so when he turned 2, we stopped preventing.

Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?): We just celebrated 22 years of marriage, this will be our 8 th child. We homeschool. I am the manager at our local pool, so I work full time in the summer and we homeschool (currently only 3 are school age, 3 graduated, and our youngest just turned 4.

How are you feeling (Any symptoms, emotionally)? No symptoms. Emotionally, I'm still in shock. But I'm very excited.

  • Introduce yourself? Hi! I'm Sarah. I'm 30 from a small town in Alberta, Canada. I'm pregnant with my first!

Due Date? November 11th according to my LMP

How did you find out? I was 6 days late for my period, but had a couple days of light brown spotting the days leading up to my regular period. Didn't think much of at the time since that's normal for me, but then the bleeding stopped and didn't come back, so thought that was weird. Took a test and it came back positive.

Tell us about yourself (Other Children/Pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/Partner?): My husband and I will be married for 7 years come this May. We've got 2 cats but would love to add a dog to the picture. I currently work in Child Care taking care of toddlers. I love it and can't wait to have my own

How are you feeling (Any symptoms, emotionally)? Got some nausea, sore breasts, and exhaustion. I'm definitely excited but nervous at the same time. Not totally sure what to expect.

I’m just noticing a lot of fellow gardeners in here. Low key looking forward to
having other gardeners to nerd out over gardening things with as time goes on 😂

  • Introduce yourself:

    Due date? 11/26 - I think.

How did you find out? My period has been wonky and late the last few months, so I took a test to prevent symptom spotting for the next week. We weren’t trying, so this is a complete surprise.

Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?): DH and I have 3 kids, a dog, and a cat.

How are you feeling (Any symptoms, emotionally)? Sense of smell is heightened, but otherwise I haven’t noticed anything. I’m still in shock because we thought our family was complete.
  • Hello! I have been on here since 2/24 but am just now posting.

    Due date? 11/2/2023

How did you find out? I took a test after we had been trying for a short time :)

Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?): we have two kitties, and they are our fur children lol. I own a photography company, and my husband is in sales. We both work from home and own a house near my mom & sister.

How are you feeling (Any symptoms, emotionally)? We lost one twin that we didn’t even know was there, so that has been emotionally difficult. Other than that, just throwing up and nauseated all of the time. No other symptoms so far!
  • Introduce yourself: Angie Brewster

    Due date? 11/10

How did you find out? We have done several rounds of IVF the last few years and so I was praying that this time would be a success. And it has been!!

Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?): I am married to a wonderful man named Richard. This will be our first child of many, we hope. I am 43 so quite AMA, but thank goodness for modern medicine. I work (not while pregnant) as a flight attendant. We live in NYC and plan to raise our family here.

How are you feeling (Any symptoms, emotionally)? Right now my symptoms are very mild. The nausea is just starting to kick in, but that’s been all.
  • Introduce yourself: Hi! I'm Chesney, I'm 31, and I live in Southwest Minnesota.

Due date? Based on my LMP, my due date is 11/25/2023. Which is actually one day after my birthday!

How did you find out? We had been trying, so I took a home test which was very light, so I confirmed with a blood test at our local clinic.

Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?): I have a son who is 7 from my first marriage, 3 dogs, and my husband's name is Sam. I work as a City Clerk in our small town of 1,400 people. I l love theatre and am on the local Opera House board of directors.

How are you feeling (Any symptoms, emotionally)? I'm feeling alright. I'm pretty emotional and anxious due to my type one diabetes and my first son being born 6 weeks early, but I'm doing my best to take things one day at a time. With my first pregnancy I wasn't sick a single day, but this time I've been a bit nauseous (haven't thrown up yet, though!).
  • @mrsguetter Welcome! I am familiar with SW MN. Did the snow start melting yet?
  • @mrsguetter Hi there! DH and I are originally from the Twin Cities and our entire extended family is still there. We miss it so much! Welcome and congrats!

  • Due date? 11/24/23

How did you find out? Positive test last Thursday, confirmed by betas today

Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?): I have 2 boys that just turned 3 & 6. I used to be an engineer but made the choice to stay home when my oldest was born. I keep busy being on the PTO and Neighborhood board and taking my kids to all their activities. I enjoy crocheting and reading and watching TV/Movies.

How are you feeling (Any symptoms, emotionally)? I’ve been so anxious so I’m not sure if I’m feeling actual nausea or just nerves so far!

  • Introduce yourself: Hi! I'm Kendle, im 27 from Michigan! This is our 2nd pregnancy and hopefully 1st child!

Due date? We think 11/8 according to LMP

How did you find out? Didn't feel like my period was going to start and it was a day late which is not normal for me

Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?): My husband and I were recently married 6/3/22. We have 2 dogs and 3 cats

How are you feeling (Any symptoms, emotionally)? Sore breast and some pretty nasty morning (all day) sickness
  • Introduce yourself:

Hey mommas!! I am Shannon, I am 34 years old, turning 35 in November. I live in a rural town northwest of Rochester, NY.

    Due date?

LMP shows the due day as 11/29/2023 which is the day that I turn 35!

    How did you find out?

I got a notification that my cycle was going to start in 7days. But, I couldn’t remember when that was and I was telling fiancé so I decided to test when we got home from the store thinking “nooo way I am…we’ve had so many negatives” and BAM! Big. Fat. Positive.

Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?):

My fiancé and I knew each other for 6 years before we started dating last June. We met on Tinder initially but we lost connection over the years with relationships with other people. We reconnected 3 years ago when he got hired at the company I was working at. I work full time as an EMT, working 12 hour overnight shifts (1800-0600). I have an almost 8yo boy who recently (finally) got diagnosed with ADHD and has recently begun medication. Fiancé has a 6 year old daughter. He’s a volunteer firefighter in our rural community. We love spending time with the kids and adventuring whether it’s hiking, bowling, parks. The beach is 5 minutes from our house.

How are you feeling (Any symptoms, emotionally)?

I am feeling pretty good! Emotionally? Oh man, I sobbed when we got the BFP. After my son and my divorce from his dad, I never thought I’d be having another baby. So, I am in total shock but so extremely ecstatic!
  • Hi, my name is Alyssa and I am 34 years old.

My estimated due date is November 20th but I have not been to the doctor yet. My first appt is on April 11th.

We have 3 kids! My oldest daughter is 5. My son is 2 and my youngest daughter is 15 months old. We were not TTC so I am a little nervous but also very thankful. I had 2 missed miscarriages between my oldest daughter and my son, so my son is my rainbow baby.

I am a sahm and I homeschool my oldest daughter. I am a former teacher, and I have my Master's in Education.

So far, I am just very tired and nauseous. I am hoping that my nausea subsides after the first trimester.

Taking one day at a time and excited to be a mama again. Nice to meet you all!
  • Wishing you the best! This is my first pregnancy and I am 6 weeks today also though IVF. We have ultrasound on Tuesday and just 🙏🏻💕praying for positive results! Due date is 11/18 I believe. Beta was slow day 9 and almost tripled in the following 48 hours.
  • @medicmomma6115 Welcome! My phone also alerted me to take a test for my 3rd baby. I knew my period was supposed to start soon, I had just miscounted lol.

@adishno33 Welcome! My older kids are both rainbow babies.

@ally_smith2007 hugs, honey. Have you told anyone yet? Do you have family you can lean into? I know this must be so scary and overwhelming 🤎
  • @ally_smith2007 I'm sure you are so scared! If there is a trusted adult you can talk to... a parent, friends parent, teacher, guidance counselor. I think that would be a good first step. If your family is not supportive, perhaps there is a local pregnancy center that could assist you. There are lots of experienced mamas here that can encourage you as well!

@makingbacon It hasn't started melting enough, that's for sure! But it's been above freezing the last few days, so it's slowly melting.
  • Introduce yourself: Hey I'm Lottie

Due date? November 7 I think

How did you find out? I missed my period and felt really sick so took test and it was positive. I'm think I've decided to

Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?): I'm 19 and it was completely unplanned. In college studying criminology atm not sure whether I will finish that all not. My boyfriend is 24 and is an engineer so hopefully he can provide for us and it will be ok. I love climbing and that's my main hobby and this is how I met my bf but I guess can't do that anymore for next 9 months

How are you feeling (Any symptoms, emotionally)? Symptoms: got bad headache all the time and feeling bit sick plus sore boobs. Still kinda in shock and super scared about everything but part of me is excited. I have no clue about anything and in college so not sure exactly what the plan is but hopefully it will work out ok
  • Introduce yourself:

Hey there! My name is Cheyenne I am 25 years old, lifelong Florida resident and 1st time mom! <3

    Due date?

    Looking at November 11th, 2023

    How did you find out?

.. first sign was the fact that I wanted to nap.. due to what I do for work I am usually up all day-night and only sleep those measly little six hours.. but I wanted to nap and I was feeling just not like my self, tested one day when I got of work thinking no way.. but sure enough I found out I’m pregnant

Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?):

I mainly just work, I work in family services and childcare.. when I’m not working I’m out fishing or enjoying some retail therapy

How are you feeling (Any symptoms, emotionally)?

I thought I was lucky to not be nauseous.. but now that I’m about 8 weeks in the nausea has begun! Also is it normal to be just all over the place mood/ emotion wise.. I already deal with being bipolar but lately my moods are everywhere and switch up really quick!!!
  • @lottie209 I know of three different friends who climbed during their pregnancies! You can check with your doctor, but if your body is used it prepregnancy it should be ok for now anyway! Until you feel your body is saying no.
  • @lottie209 I've been struggling with headaches too. My acupuncturist told me to try magnesium and it's really been helping me. I've been using the Calm Magnesium powder (3/4 tsp) before bed and it also helps me sleep. Obviously, ask you Dr if you don't know if it's right for you.
  • Third kid: Due 11/6
    Second kid: Dec 2021
    First kid: Sept 2019
  • @nomangos23 I’m due 11/29 also! Praying for you!
  • Introduce yourself: Hi! I’m Rebecca from middle Tennessee

Due date? Based on LMP, 11/21.

How did you find out? I JUST found out 5 days ago. I had some spotting at the beginning of March that I assumed was my period. I realized I hadn’t ovulated at all in March so I took a pregnancy test and was pleasantly surprised it was positive!

Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?): I have 2 kiddos, a 8 yo daughter and 7 yo stepson. I’m so excited to have a small baby in the house again!

How are you feeling (Any symptoms, emotionally)? I have mild symptoms so far, I had a heavy feeling in my pelvis for a couple days but that’s subsided now. Heighten sense of smell, tired, and some nausea if I think too much about food. Haha
  • @knottie818e9cb9ce669f22 congrats. We share the same due date.
  • Introduce yourself:
Hi, my name is Adrian. I am 31 years old.

    Due date?
    November 19 👶🏻

    How did you find out?
I took an at home pregnancy test after being a week late for my period.

Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?):
I have been with my Husband for 10 years. I have 2 sons, 4 & 13. (Very big gap there) We were not expecting pregnancy, but are so happy now to be welcoming a new baby into our lives.
I work in administration. I enjoy crafting. 😊

How are you feeling (Any symptoms, emotionally)?
At first I was very emotional about the pregnancy. It definitely caught me off guard. And my first thought is I have to push this baby out of me again. (My youngest was all back Labor with induction, and it was so painful.) But now I am feeling a lot better, more confident & blessed that God chose me to be a Mommy to another baby. ♥️
  • @knottie920c6e23585a4966 Welcome! I had back labor with DS2, and it was the worst.
  • Introduce yourself:
I’m Cieleste, 33 years old and we were TTC for a full year. We had the doctor appointment lined up to find out what was going on, had the “what if” conversation, and had accepted that it may not be in our plans but here we are now!

    Due date?
    November 20 😬

    How did you find out?
I had started workout out again so I felt more tired than normal and thought nothing of it. Realized my apps were asking me to log a period so I took a test. After three tests of dark positives, I realized that it was actually happening 🤣

Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?):
My husband and I are both history teachers in different school districts. I’m a Korean adoptee who wound up in Ohio 🤷🏻‍♀️ We’ve got 1 dog (Jack Russel-Poodle), a lizard (uromastyx), and a bearded dragon who’s a part time classroom pet!

How are you feeling (Any symptoms, emotionally)?
Physically, my husband Googled if 14 hours of sleep was normal 😂 I had a few days of pretty crazy nausea but I was also coming off of Adderall and my usual 500 mg of daily caffeine so that may have played a bigger role. I don’t know if anyone else has dealt with this one but my eczema is going WILD even more than usual at this time of year. Emotionally I’m still on a roller coaster. I waver between super excited then I get scared and hesitant. We had 2 chemical pregnancies in the last year, I have a tense (at best) relationship with my mom, and we have some serious illnesses plaguing immediate family members. We’re thrilled but we’re also aware that November is a long time away so we’re just trying to take it one day at a time.
  • Hi I'm Chelley, I'm 25 and I'm from NYC.

According to online calculators, November 25.

    How did I find out?
I track my cycle meticulously as I'm very very predictable. After ages on several types of birth control, I stopped birth control in the hopes of conceiving. One day late and I got hopeful, but didn't test for a week just in case. I took two tests and my husband and I looked at the results together. The line was so faint, I said oh well, I guess I'm not pregnant, but it got darker and darker.

    About myself:
My husband and I work full time, are pretty busy, active, and excited and nervous about having a lil baby. I've always been the preparer, knowing what to expect and expecting the worse. Everything I expected is not happening, maybe luckily for me. I like binging on Netflix, spoiling my nieces and nephews, and a good psychological thriller novel.

I'm feeling very normal. There are a few symptoms- exhaustion, bloating, tender breasts- that keep me positive that I'm pregnant, but I can't wait to confirm with my doctor next week! I also don't know when or how I plan to tell my parents, in laws, sister, and friends.
  • @cktb29 yes to the eczema flares. My hands always go crazy during early pregnancy. Any kind of barrier cream will be your friend. It's the worst when I'm constantly using hand sanitizer and it just makes it so much worse.

  • Introduce yourself: Hey guys! I’m Stevie and I live in northern Michigan! I’m 32. FTM.

    Due date? 11/23/23

How did you find out? Was exhausted at work - had a few stressful weeks and was peeing all the time so i randomly took a test one of the times - have a pack of like 100 right on the shelf cuz we’ve been trying along time. Almost didn’t use it because my sample was so diluted (it was after work) but the test was open so wth lol and faint line! Opened app and realized I was 8 days late - next morning BFP!! First one ever!!

Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?): we have 2 English shepherd doggos (5 and 1) and I handle environmental/safety/quality compliance for a food processor. Hubby is a high school math teacher. We hunt fish and maintain a large garden :) lots of canning in the fall!

How are you feeling (Any symptoms, emotionally)? I cannot shake the exhaustion. I find myself irritated more often than I’d like and I miss coffee. But I’m so excited about this little bean. I pray it sticks so hard! I get nauseous here and there but haven’t gotten sick - which is good because I have a major audit at work in the first week of may and I’m not ready to tell work yet. Lol
  • KiekKiek member
We also hunt, fish, and keep a large garden with lots of canning in the fall and summer! It’s always so fun to meet other gardeners who also do canning lol. Most people look at me like I’m a grandma 🙃
