  • I've had some random spotting over the weekend and twinges of slight pain where my left tube is. I pretty much called my OB today and voluntold them theyre seeing me. If I have another ectopic, ughhhhhhhhh

noooo @dolewhipper -- thinking of you. When can they get you in? I have had friends who have had ectopics -- will they be able to see it on ultrasound or do they have to wait and see? Ughhhhh

I was seen last thursday but they couldn't see anything, so I did some blood work friday and this morning. But all weekend I've been feeling off, with twinges of slight pain where my tube is. (I never had pain with my ectopic). They should be able to see it by 5-6 weeks, or when hcg is around 1500 I believe. They wanted to have me wait till this friday to be seen again, I had a big NOPE to that. So I pretty much voluntold them they're seeing me this afternoon and they fit me in.

ah good for you advocating! Let us know -- I'm sure this is little comfort but I have had twingy pain near where I think my tubes are with all my pregnancies and it was never ectopic -- but haven't been through it, I'm sure it's a totally different level of worry (I already worry about it even though it hasn't happened to me!)
Thank you! Unfortunately until I see the little blob where it belongs, I'll be a wreck of stress and nerves  I'll report back after!

Update: Well, they wouldn’t do the u/s in the office because my betas are too low (595) for them to see with their machine. I got a script to go to imaging. Woooo.
  • I’m 4w 4d and I woke up to very light pink/brown spotting but that’s how my previous early miscarriage started so I’m very worried. 😔 I had a rough night with bloating and unsettled stomach so I’m just hoping it doesn’t progress.
  • Starting very lightly spotting this morning- light pink color and some light cramping on & off…this is my first pregnancy so I’m not sure if this is normal or not. Trying not to freak out right now but I’m so scared. I just keep telling myself it’s going to be ok and my baby is safe.
  • @carlymanzy I'm sorry, that sounds like a rough night and totally sucks. Are you able to get into your Dr? My last pregnancy I had a bunch of spotting and some full out bleeds, but I was able to get into the dr a bunch for extra ultrasounds and they eventually found a SCH which explained the bleeds. Hopefully it all works out for you too :)
  • A couple days ago I had some brown discharge so I took a pregnancy test and it was still positive. Today the brown turned into light spotting. I’m a bit crampy and worried. My husband is bringing another test to see if it is a chemical pregnancy or not. I also called my clinic and they said their nurse will call me back if they are concerned.
  • update: bleeding got heavier and the doctor told me that there’s not a lot they can do other than take two consecutive blood tests to see if my hormones are lowering or not. She said that it is probably a miscarriage. I guess I’ll just wait and see what happens and take the blood tests for a confirmation of loss or not.
  • Hugs, ladies.
I went to the ER for pain this morning and my u/s still came up empty, but my Hcg went from 550 yesterday to 510 today :( I don’t think there’s anything good that comes out of dropping Hcg :( my only solace is that it may not be ectopic and I keep my remaining tube…

spotting doesn’t always mean anything, but if anything else accompanies it that feels wrong, don’t hesitate to reach out to your dr and demand to be seen. You’re you’re biggest advocate!
  • Hugs @aguamala I’m getting some bloodwork too. You’re not alone
  • @dolewhipper @aguamala I’m sorry to you both. Sending best wishes. 🙏🏼
  • @dolewhipper @carlymanzy thanks for the support ❤️ I hope you guys are able to find some calm during this tough time. Will be thinking about you and sending good energy.
  • Passed a few clots of blood in the shower this morning after spotting lightly almost all day yesterday -I’m 5w2d and have never been pregnant before so I have no idea what is happening
Has anyone else experienced this before?
I don’t know if this is normal or if this could be a CP
  • Hugs to you @dolewhipper and @aguamala <3

@knottie425599c67fffb543 I had a CP that started that way. Definitely call your provider to see what's going on.  <3
  • @dolewhipper I am feeling for you! I hope everything is well with your tube and you are able to heal from this loss. Sending hugs
  • Took a test this morning and still came up positive so I took my first blood analysis this morning. Next one will be Saturday and I will know the results of if it’s a loss or not next week. Still bleeding like a period with some small clots. Small cramping and overall depressed feelings.
  • @dolewhipper I am so sorry. Sending much love
  • Took a blood analysis yesterday after calling my dr and will test again on Saturday- bleeding increased yesterday and even more over night with clots & tissue- this is most definitely a loss

I also had to have my dog euthanized yesterday afternoon after hopping around to 3 vet appts to diagnose he had a heart tumor which presented as fluid in is abdomen.

Miscarriage and losing my dog in the same day can you say worst day ever?!?
Guess I’m not going to be a mom after all- wishing everyone safe and healthy pregnancies♥️
  • I am so sorry to hear that.
  • I’m so sorry about your double loss. Chemical pregnancy’s are very easy to recover from and you go back to your normal cycle soon after the loss. If you still want to be a mom (I know it feels too soon to even think about getting pregnant again) it’s still very possible!

Agreed. My cycle before this pregnancy was a CP: I conceived again not even two weeks after I stopped bleeding.
  • @aguamala I'm so sorry. Sending you lots of hugs ❤️
  • @dolewhipper so sorry you’re going through this, I’ll hope for your rainbow soon💕 been there too
  • @knottie425599c67fffb543 thinking of you! I had a chemical before this pregnancy and you just never know what is going to happen but I hope you happy healing 💕
  • Hi everyone. I am 6w+6. I had a small gush 2 days ago that ended within the hour. Did not saturate a pad. They moved up my ultrasound to today, and they said they only saw a “flutter” of a heartbeat and that it was “slow”. Should you even see a heartbeat at <7 weeks, and if it is just a flutter how would you even know if it is slow or not? I thought I would leave today’s u/s feeling either really good or really bad, but instead they told me almost nothing. Rescheduled for next week when I’ll be 8 weeks.

Anyone else have a less than great early ultrasound after some bleeding?

  • @dolewhipper and @aguamala I’m sorry for your loss.

@knottie425599c67fffb543 Oh I’m so sorry for your double loss. Losing a pet is so hard, it’s not like there’s a good time to have a miscarriage but the same week as another loss makes it harder.

@Knottie1472271728 A “low” heartbeat can be normal for <7 weeks, the rate increases to a peak at 170-180s bpm at 8-10 weeks and then settles between 110-160. If everything’s really small sometimes you can see the flutter with your eyes but the machine can’t quite record it. People who do lots of obstetric ultrasounds might be able to have a feel for how fast the rate is without doing an official measurement because they see it a lot. Having a rate over 120 can decrease your risk of miscarriage because it indicates the pregnancy progressed far enough to reach the level of development needed to produce that heart rate (and the further along in pregnancy you get the lower your risk of miscarriage), but having a lower rate doesn’t mean you have a higher than normal risk of miscarriage because it could just mean the pregnancy is earlier than that development point.
It sucks in early pregnancy when things are happening but they’re hard to see, so you don’t get clear answers. I hope your ultrasound next week is more clear!
  • @Knottie1472271728 hi! I am so sorry you’re going through that. I had a gush of blood yesterday at 6 weeks- baby’s heartbeat was 92 bpm, they said they shouldn’t even measure it at 6 weeks. I’ve since started a progesterone suppository and had another scan today, they were happy with growth and heartbeat. It seems I have A sun chorionic hematoma causing the blood. Perhaps you should ask them to check this for you as well? It’s comforting but also not 💕
  • Hi everyone- looking for some opinions if anybody has any idea about this: had a small gush of blood at 5w6d- went to ER, found a viable pregnancy with heart beat. This morning my OB saw the same with a small sub chorionic hematoma.

However my HCG last night was 13370 and my HCG this morning was 13170- OB was not concerned due to lab variation. They said it being off by 1.5 percent isn’t a big deal and that the heart beat and ultrasound is much more accurate. But I am very anxious and upset that another MC is pending. We really believed this to be our rainbow.

Has anybody experienced anything similar or heard of this lab variation?

    thanks (:
  • I just had some light pink spotting and I'm so so scared. I'm 5w4d and know it can be normal, but this is how my last MC started in June. I'll call my OB in the morning, but tonight I know I won't sleep.

  • @swmama27 Yes, I’ve heard of this lab variation; each lab has a different “set point” for their beta-hcg so you have to compare levels within the same lab and not between different labs. (The variation isn’t so big that a big difference doesn’t matter, like if you go from 1000 at one lab to 10 at another, then you really have dropped, but a 1.5% difference would be well within the lab variation.) Your levels at this point don’t need to be increasing quickly—after the level reaches 6000 it takes 4 days or more to double. The ultrasound really is more accurate than the beta level at this stage, and it’s a good sign that it held steady and there wasn’t a big drop. There are people who have bleeding and eventually do have a miscarriage, but there are also lots of people who have bleeding and go on to have normal pregnancies, As long as your ultrasound looks good, it’s very possible that you could be in the second category.
  • @swmama27 this happened to me with my oldest. My Gyno didn't do obstetrics so they did initial blood draw and then I had to have it again a day or two later with current OB. The results were off since the labs were different. To put my mind at ease current OB did a 3rd draw and all was well!
  • @krb99 @gingermama46 thank you so much for the vote of confidence, that meant a lot to me. I had a late loss in May (16 weeks) which had bleeding in first trimester (different than this bleeding) and ultrasounds always looked good so I have very bad anxiety this pregnancy. I’m reminding myself not to drag that pregnancy into this one. We truly felt this was our rainbow, and last pregnancy I had a sense of doom sadly from the first positive. I’m waiting to get some HCG levels back tomorrow from a third lab, hopefully it’ll be higher than either from a day ago. And yes ultrasound was good both at ER and OB, which I read about later and saw was more important. I’m just trying to hold out until this Tuesdays scan 💕 remaining hopeful and grateful
  • @sunshineitsfine i hope you’re doing okay and hanging in there!
  • I was panicking when I was spotting red for a week. I had cramps for 3 days, and no symptoms otherwise. The nurse on the phone said it was a threatened miscarriage a d it could go any way at this point. She told me to take it easy. Luckily I got to sit that week of work. I laid on the couch with my feet up when I got home each night. Eventually the bleeding stopped! My breasts are big and painful now and my HCG is rising.

Fingers crossed for anyone still in the waiting game 💕
  • @peachinolive that's reassuring to hear. I had a blood draw yesterday and a 2nd one tomorrow thanks to bleeding since Tuesday night. It's definitely lighter than it was so I feel like it's ending, but I'm anxious to see the lab results.
