@costaricamom ok, the thought of kiwis and Oreos triggered my gag reflex lol but I'm glad you enjoyed them!
@runsonanxiety I've been on a pear kick for awhile. If you want to truly enjoy yourself sometime and have extra money to burn, order pears from Harry and David. Guarantee you they will be the best pears you've ever had in your life.
Current pregnancy - First BFP on 1/4/22. Due date 9/13/22.

Has anybody tried a virgin margarita yet?! If you like fruity, sour drinks, this is for you! I had one last Friday and LOVED it! It brought me back to 6th grade at the roller rink getting sour slushies... I'll probably continue with virgin margaritas even after baby. I like it wayyyy better. @puzzlehead11 I haven't done a virgin bloody mary yet, but I'm sure it's only a matter of time. Pickles, green olives, lemon, lime.... All these things have been a hit during this pregnancy. I'm even on a spicy kick. I bet it'll happen this weekend!
I just had those Belvita Blueberry breakfast cookies for the first time and I am obsessed now. However, I am not a believer in the 4 hr. energy claim on the packaging because I'm struggling to make it 30 more minutes in this work day.
Tonight Cletus the Fetus and I asked for soup and the boy person delivered - cream of mushroom, mushrooms, bok choy, onions, and bacon. Nom nom.

I may or may not have sent the boy person to the store for gelato and ice cream and he may or may not be returning with 9 different kinds. This may or may not be because:
a) I am pregnant.
b) It is 8 million degrees outside.
c) This week's episode of Top Chef was sponsored by Talenti.
d) All of the above.

I wanted bread with salami and melted cheese SO BADLY for breakfast so I popped open my husband’s salami and provolone snack packs, popped a piece of salami in my mouth… and barely managed to swallow it. It tasted like poop. Hugely disappointing experience. I put the rest in a ziploc baggie for hubbs.
Hummus wrap with fresh vegetables and ranch and it was the greatest thing ever. And now I’m sad bc I’m out of wraps and I currently feel like I could eat this forever. 😩
Boy person has made me a very tasty looking ham and cheese omelet with a side of beans for lunch. However, based on the size, he has apparently decided I'm eating for 12. Heh.

@pangolindrome that’s so unfortunate 😞 I didn’t have much at home to make lunch today so I toasted some bread and put cream cheese and salami on top and it was delightful. I’ve been eating it like that since I was a kid.
@dsmith211 I’ve been on a huge wrap kick with hummus, veggies, and whatever leftover meat we have lately too and also ran out of wraps yesterday 😩 rest assured it’s on the grocery list for my husband to pick up after work today.
@kboydbowman at least he didn’t leave you hungry lol!
@kboydbowman I’ve been watching Top Chef every night after the kids are in bed and it makes me SO hungry lol. I would’ve killed for some of Dawn’s popcorn during the drive in movie challenge.
Today's farmer's market haul. Big one today. Green onions, tomatos, baby bok choy, mushroom ravioli, artichoke ravioli, prosciotto, sweet peas, Atlantic oyster mushrooms, strawberries, coho salmon, yellow onions, port wine Derby cheese, lions mane mushrooms, kumquats, Alfredo sauce, honey, phoenix oyster mushrooms, eggs, and kale.

Currently skimming real food for pregnancy because a lot of what she wrote about in real food for gestational diabetes I followed through gd groups I was part of. I think @kboydbowman will appreciate the data about egg yolks being ok to eat runny.
@jhysmath THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIS! Because I am a silly human, my husband likes to cook my yolks runny and then I drain them before eating the rest and call myself an “eggpyre” (like vampire but for eggs). It is a little thing I will be glad to have back in my life occasionally.
I've been trying to eat eggs a few times a week, but during the week I don't have time to make them in the mornings. I made some hard boiled eggs and had one for breakfast this morning...which has proven to be a mistake 🤢
I thought my food related nausea was gone, guess not!
@dvmmomma my routine to make eggs in the morning works pretty well. I turn in the pan to heat and make my kids breakfast, usually cereal or yogurt. I do my eggs in the pan, get dressed, flip the eggs and take them off the hot burner. I either put toast down or sausage in the air fryer. Finish all the things that need to get done and as I'm leaving throw them in a container. I eat them once I get to work and have 5 minutes to myself.
@dvmmama I don’t eat eggs very often because I have a very random sensitivity to them about half the time (get a stomach ache and feel blah) but I love them and wish I could eat them more often. I heard about this quick hack so maybe you’ll like them this way?
Grab a mug and whisk together a couple eggs, splash of milk, shredded cheese and season with salt and pepper or whatever else you like. Pop it in the microwave for about 1.5ish minutes and you basically get scrambled eggs in a mug. I just break it up with a fork and it’s good to go.
The ice cream stand opened up this weekend. Fried clams for dinner was a must last night. I wish they had steamers at this one but they don't. I might need to find steamers soon.
I wanted a BLT so bad yesterday, to the point when I was looking in the fridge at my options, I decided I just wasn’t that hungry. Thought about it for 20 minutes, and ordered the BLT. Baby’s gotta eat 😂
Last night baby wanted kale and mushrooms. So boy person made a paella/fried rice kind of thing with kale, mushrooms, green onions, tomatoes, shrimp, eggs, and rice.
Baby was happy.

I saw a thing saying mussels have a ton of iron. Then I needed them for dinner. They were yummy, but I need a chef to make me really good broth with them.

Some mods due to what I had around - oyster mushrooms instead of carrots, chicken broth instead of beef broth, and an actual tomato instead of tomato paste - but I bet it will still turn out delicious. Making mashed potatoes to go with it. Maybe cook up some asparagus, too.

I made two ricotta pies for the first Easter hosted in our new house. First time I’ve felt like baking anything in ages and they turned out pretty well! One with lemon zest and white chocolate chips, one with dark chocolate chips and orange zest.
