Re: **TW** Bleeding/Spotting/Threatened Loss Support Thread

  • @aaven94 brown blood = old blood. I wouldn’t be too concerned unless you experience severe pains at some point. Always contact provider with blood though. My guess is old from implantation or a benign hematoma. Bright red blood is more of concern
  • @rockstarmomma152 the ambiguity and waiting game are so hard. Sending you all the positive thoughts that things continue to progress.

I am 7 weeks 4 days. I had an ultra sound at 7 weeks 1 day baby had a strong heart beat was 133 and they couldn’t find any reason for why I’m spotting. She did not do a pelvic exam on me. I have been spotting for six days now, not enough to even fill a panty liner but it’s a few drops every hour, it’s dark brown sometimes red/brown. Not really cramping at all. My doctor said nothing to do but pelvic rest and wait and see, I have another ultra sound scheduled in 11 days. Has anyone had this happen and gone on to have a healthy pregnancy? I’m so worried I can’t stop thinking I’m losing my baby.
  • @maddie3006 I’d be stressing out too but just try to keep in mind that you were spotting and saw the baby with a strong heartbeat so most likely everything is still fine! I hope time goes by quickly for you until your next US
  • @maddie3006 I know it’s hard not to worry but I would echo what @bows22 said: you were already spotting when you got the great US reading, so i would be very reassured by that. If anything changes, don’t hesitate to call your doc or nurse. Spotting is really common in 1st trimester, but it doesn’t make it any less scary.
  • @maddie3006 Sometimes the cervix gets extremely sensitive in pregnancy, so if it has gotten irritated at all, even from the growing of your uterus, this can cause light spotting. Totally understand being worried, but that's great that the US didn't pick up a cause!
  • @tessiesmom26 I'm so sorry to hear the news :-(
  • Unfortunately, our ultrasound showed nothing in my uterus yesterday, so they confirmed that the pregnancy is a loss. I pray for a healthy pregnancy for all of you ladies and your sweet babies. Thank you for letting me be apart of this group and Lord willing we will be able to join again soon.

  • @irgarcia2022 I’m so sorry for your loss❤️
  • @dramakwen oh that must have been terrifying. I’m so glad you got good news that your baby is fine. Did they diagnose it as a SCH?
  • I’m currently 8w3d and had 2 spots earlier this morning. Called the dr and they advised taking it easy. Of course we are on vacation. Also on progesterone suppository for previous loss. Why is all of this so stressful.

    @EmilyE13
Yes, they did. They said it should subside on its own, and it seems to be doing that. Fingers crossed we’re in the clear now!
  • @relizabethp I'm so sorry you are going through this  :(. This must be so stressful. I'm glad baby is doing well and they're able to get you in asap for another ultrasound. I hope the hematoma resolves quickly and that you can just sleep through the next few days.
  • @relizabeth I’m so sorry for this stress and worry. Thinking of you and hoping the bleeding resolves ASAP.
  • @relizabethp oh no, I’m so sorry this is happening. It sounds like things are looking okay though. I hope you get to move past this soon ❤️
  • @relizabethp I can’t imagine how hard this must be right now. Sending you lots of love and comforting vibes.
  • Hi everyone, im 9 weeks today and having a really rough time. I had some light spotting after sex with my husband yesterday and thought it might be normal. It progressed to pretty significant bleeding tonight and we even went to the ER to be seen, but left at 3am since I have my first OB appt today anyway. Now just waiting until they open to call and the anxiety is overwhelming. Hoping and praying for a good outcome, I just don't know what else to do since I won't be sleeping any more tonight.
  • I'm currently 9 weeks pregnant. Last week I had some pink spotting and they did an ultrasound and everything was fine. They found a subchorionic hematoma and said that was likely the cause. The bleeding stopped. Yesterday I went to the bathroom and blood gushed out. It was dark red with clots. I immediately called the doctor and they got me into an ultrasound. Baby was measuring on schedule and heart rate was 178 bpm. The hematoma was bigger now. I'm really scared I'm going to lose this baby too. I had four miscarriages between September 2021 and January 2022. I told my husband that I'm done now. I cannot handle any more loss. I'm really hoping for baby number 4 in October but I don't have a lot of confidence. Every time I go to the bathroom I flashback to all the times I went to the bathroom and found blood signaling another loss.
For context I actually bled a lot with my girls. My second was a threatened miscarriage and I bled a lot daily for the first 15 weeks. I had to come in for ultrasounds once or twice a week depending on the amount of blood. I didn't bleed at all with my son. So i was hoping I wouldn't this time. I was younger then and not of advanced maternal age like I am now.
  • @krysnicole1022 I’m so sorry you’re going through this. Did the doctor put you on pelvic rest? When is your next appt?
  • @EmilyE13
Yep. Pelvic rest and no strenuous exercise. My next appointment isn't until April 6th but I'm going to call and try to get in sooner. I was supposed to go in the week before that but the lady who scheduled my appointment kind of messed up. Wrong doctor, wrong time, etc. The system wasn't working so she had to do it after I left. It seems a bit ridiculous to make a woman with blood clots coming out multiple times a day to wait 3 weeks to see a doctor. This was before the SCH though.
Hopefully it's all fine. I'm just very worried and highly anxious.

@kothebebe oh, that sounds terrifying to have to wait for answers after the ER visit as well! Were you able to find anything out further from your appointment? Sending prayers your way 🤍
  • Has anyone had light spotting after being told your SCH has resolved?
  • @krysnicole1022 just checking in. How are you feeling? Were you able to get an earlier appt?
  • Hi all, I’d love some reassurance here. I’m 11W5 and just went in for an US last week. Baby was doing great, I’ve been dying from morning sickness and I’m scheduled to go back in a couple of weeks. I just went to the bathroom and saw two drops of bright red blood when I wiped. I kept wiping and nothing more came out, just a bit of pink. I haven’t had cramps or anything. The dr. just put me on pelvic rest and said if the bleeding continues, to go in on Monday for an US. Anyone else have this? I’ve had a previous loss at 7 weeks years ago and I have a 5 year now who I carried to term. Any suggestions on how to calm myself?
  • @kat_vegan87 I had some bright pink spotting two weeks ago and my OB said it’s very common especially after sex, exercise, or transvaginal ultrasound. Like you, I was also very anxious because I miscarried back in November but she reassured me that once you see a heartbeat on an ultrasound the chance of miscarriage drops down to 10%.

  • @kat_vegan87 It sounds like everything is fine, I haven’t had any spotting this time but with my first I had some similar to what you were describing and it didn’t continue and everything was fine. No advice on staying calm though because I know I would be really worried too. Knowing that you have the option for an ultrasound on Monday if there is any more bleeding hopefully is some comfort? And honestly if you even see one more speck of blood I’d consider that “continuing” and go for the ultrasound for peace of mind.
  • @kat_vegan87 The cervix is very sensitive in pregnancy so it could be a small burst blood vessel from irritation. Agreed with @bows22 that if there's any more dotting just go get that ultrasound for peace of mind
  • @mrsramirez50 I’m sorry you’re going through this! A lot of BMBs have “high risk” check-ins and support threads if you want to start one, or if you’d rather do a “SCH support” thread go for it. I know other ladies on here have had SCHs, too. I have a very small one but it’s not doing anything and the tech said it was from implantation and should re-absorb.
  • @ctsa  i am so sorry I hope they can give you something positive tomorrow.
  • @ctsa I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I hope you get more information and some good news today. Will be thinking about you.
