Re: July/August 2021 FET

  • Thank you everyone. DH and I were happy for what happened yesterday. As we heard the heartbeat, my mind was racing to think of questions like is that fast or loud enough? I just couldn’t settle for what I was witnessing. I’ve been in this journey for too long that disappointments were just the common thing and being happy for successes is something to learn anew every time. Anyway, I’m more determined now to master the Japanese language to thrive better in this country. Also I’ll have my acupuncture tomorrow.

    @KTB81 I’ll be thinking of you for your beta on Wed. You’ve got this.

    @danij823 How are you doing buddy? I hope you’re alright and handling the symptoms just fine.
  • Loading the player...
  • @tinjp78 I’m so happy to come on and see that news! Congrats love!!!
    @skyee87 Just one more week for you!  I’m so excited for you!
    Afm:
    I have my ultrasound on Friday, I’ll be 7 weeks.   I’m nervous but hopeful.  I’m still having spotting on and off so it’s a little scary.  I keep telling myself it’s normal but I wish it would stop.

  • @tinjp78 AHHHHH! Yay! I'm just so happy to hear all this good news! Keep up the good work, little embryo!!

    @romeoandjuliet146 I hope you're hanging in there! Any update on when your transfer will be?

    @skyee87 Getting close to transfer day!

    @danij823 FX for a great u/s on Friday!

    @KTB81 Good luck with your beta on Wednesday!

    AFM Transfer complete! Everything went swimmingly. I've been trying hard not to be too stressed, so I did a lot of big belly breaths and thinking positive thoughts while I was waiting. Beta on 8/26. Got my pineapple and that first slice was delicious.
  • @tinjp78 Did you move to Japan for school?

    @Bababatty I'm glad everything went well. Nice to have your little one in there ready to implant and grow! I have to go back Friday for another ultrasound and labs to see if estradiol went up, so will know then.

  • @danij823 I KNOW. I'm super anxious. :D I don't know what will do me in - the anxiety of waiting until next week, or the anxiety after having it done.

    @Bababatty hooray!! So glad transfer went well! Sending tons of sticky vibes! <3

    AFM:

    Lining check tomorrow. Really hoping my lining won' let me down. :s
  • @skyee87 When is your transfer?
  • @danij823 I’m sorry to hear about the pesky spotting. I’m hoping and praying that they’d go out soon. Friday is almost here, crossing everything for you and your growing LO.

    @romeoandjuliet146 My DH is Japanese, though he prefers to live in another country rather than here, we thought of living here for a while for me to experience the culture.

    @skyee87 FX for your lining check tomorrow.

    @Bababatty wooohooo!!! Happy PASP!!!
  • Thank you @tinjp78

    @romeoandjuliet146 Just got the call - lining is still below 8mm but clinic wants to proceed, so I start with progesterone tomorrow morning and FET is scheduled for early next week. Now to find ways to control my anxiety until then..
  • @skyee87 You get to transfer! That is so exciting!!! I'll be rooting for you!
    @danij823 I am spotting a little bit too. I am reading what to expect and it says in the book this can happen. I am so excited for your ultrasound!
    @bababatty Happy PUPO!!!
    @romeoandjuliet146 praying for good results for your estradiol and lining. I just know all of this will be worth the wait.

    AFM: I requested that 3rd beta because of bleeding last Friday and beta came back at 51,024. Nurse says all is well. Ultrasound scheduled for Wednesday 8/25 in the afternoon. I will actually get to see my doctor at that meeting, which is nice, haven't seen him since the first appointment. If all goes well, they will release me to my ob/gyn next week. Also, just a tip- for those of you who have received your first beta, you may want to call your ob/gyn and get an appointment on the books. My doctor was booked until the end of September and I called her 2 weeks ago! I guess covid still has everything backed up. I am also thinking of getting my doctor and nurse a small gift. Any ideas?
  • @KTB81 Congrats on the 3rd beta!!! I love your nurse’s assuring tone, it’s the type I’ll accept any day. You are so close to be released to your ob/gyn, that is so exciting. 🥰

    Hello everybody. How are you all doing? I hope everything is progressing properly, smoothly, and well. Afm, I’ve been having morning sickness but I’ve learned to quite manage my fatigue. After doing an activity, I take a short rest and then try to get moving again and repeat. What’s bothering me is a buzzing/vibrating feeling on my left foot especially when I’m lying down. Google says it’s probably Pallesthesia, a kind of blood clot issue but I’d better just discuss this with my doctor.

    @danij823 Hi buddy. I saw on our May/June FET thread that it’s your birthday on 8/19. Is that correct? If it is, I hope you’d have a fun day!!! Happy Birthday!!!

  • @Bababatty Congratulations! you are PUPO!!
    @KTB81 Wow that is the highest beta I have ever seen!!

    AFM - Very mild symptoms here, just a little more tired than usual.  My OBGYN office called to move my appointment.  I was supposed to see him around 10 weeks, but he is taking some time off and they want me to go next Wednesday, which is the day the US technician is there so I will be able to see how everything looks inside.  So nervous and excited!!  What is not so good, is that because of the rising cases DH will not be able to join me, but I will take it!
  • @gabriellem99 I know- I am wondering what is happening in there! Haha. That is exciting that your ultrasound has been moved up! Good luck with the results!

  • @danij823 Happy Birthday!

    @tinjp78 I heard ginger is good for morning sickness. I hope you find out what is going on with your foot. What other country would you like to live in one day? I like watching House Hunters International where people move to other countries.

    @gabriellem99 That's exciting that you get to go next week!

    afm
    ultrasound and bloodwork. I need to wait for the lab results for next steps.

    @KTB81 congratulations on the amazing beta!

    @danij823 Happy Belated Bday! Also, I think you have a u/s today? How did it go?!

    @romeoandjuliet146 I hate waiting for results! Wishing everything looks awesome and you get to transfer soon!
  • got results. estradiol level still to low which could lead to early loss so now have to take provera, wait for period and start cycle again except this time with injectable estrogen. Very disappointed because the FET keeps getting delayed, first lining, then covid, then polyps then estrogen level, so maybe transfer will happen in September. I don't know.
  • @romeoandjuliet146 I’m so sorry you got delayed again!  That’s the worst!  I hope they can get you on the right track and get that lil embaby transferred soon!
    @skyee87 Glad you’re on track to transfer!  My lining was never super thick, 8 something on transfer day.  You got this! Yay!
    @Bababatty yay congrats on being PUPO!  Toting for you love!  Beta is already right around the corner!
    @KTB81 yay! Sounds like everything is great so far! Can’t wait to hear about your ultrasound!
  • @gabrielle99 It sucks that your DH won’t be there with you on your appointment. In my case, since I don’t speak Japanese very well, I always FaceTime with my DH so he can talk with our dr. whenever he’s not with me in my appointments. Hurray for mild symptoms 🥰 What week are you in now?

    @romeoandjuliet146 Oh dear, I’m terribly sorry for all the setbacks. However, I always believe that there is a reason for everything that happens. Maybe these delays are most necessary for the success of your transfer. But I get you for feeling meh on being benched for longer than expected. Hang in there, I have a feeling that your transfer day would be spectacular and worth the wait. Also, I’ll be hoarding ginger from now. I like making hot lemonade with honey and ginger. But last week, since I oftentimes tend to obsess on stuff, I looked up on the internet the risk of drinking this, and lo and behold, there was a site that said it is not advisable for those who had multiple mc’s. I talked with my DH about it and he thought it was ridiculous. I agree with him, my clinic also tells us to make it a habit to drink ginger tea. So, I’ll just scrap that info and continue to enjoy my ginger (moderately) 😉 As for the country/ies we are looking into for residence, Canada and Australia are on our top picks.

    @danij823 Buddy!!! I’m glad you had a blast on your day! And your LO already know how to make her mom’s birthday special - by looking simply adorable on that u/s scan 💕 When’s your next appointment?

    Afm, I also had some blood work done today (P4, E2, Thyroid etc) and a u/s scan too.  At 7w0d, the size of this LO is just right and heartbeat has no problem too. Praying for more good news to come. We’ll go back for another check up on 8/30.

    @tinjp78 and @danij823 Whoo hoo! I'm so happy you both got good ultrasounds😁 I loved seeing the pics.

    @tinjp78 Wow, Canada and Australia both sound great.

    @Bababatty How are you feeling?

    @ashleyhj29 Not sure if you still look at the Bump, but thinking of you and I hope you are doing okay.

    Afm
    Taking provera and one estrace for seven days to start my period
  • @tinjp78 and @danij823 I love the sweet pics!!!! Thank you for adding those to your posts. They make my heart dance. 💜💜💜

    @Bababatty sending you all the sticky baby vibes. Aug 26th will be here before you know it!

    @romeoandjuliet146 so sorry about the delays. It’s not fair.

    @skyee87 yay for a transfer date!

    @ktb81 that is one heckuva Beta!!!!!!

    AFM, sank into the dark hole of unknowing for a bit but crawling my way out. Ended up having 1 day 5 blast and 1 day 6 blast. Yay for 2! Both are at genetic testing now and I haven’t been told a clear date of when I will hear back! FX for the litter and that I don’t pull out my hair waiting. In the meantime they did schedule my tentative transfer for Sept 24. I have my baseline on Wednesday. Now that I have a date it feels more real. Just have to wait for more steps of good news so that it can happen.

    Just finished getting settled in the new house and DH told me yesterday he wants the whole house painted at once so to pack up bc we move out next weekend. On one hand I’m super grateful to have the resources to paint the home and get an air bnb for a month. On the other hand I want to fight someone. Then he tells me not to stress, bc I have to stay calm for the litter. Stay calm. I think it is biologically impossible to be calm when someone tells you to “calm down.”  🤪

    @tinjp78 and @danij823 so very happy for you both! Loved the u/s pics and so excited for what's ahead for you all!

    @romeoandjuliet146 I'll avoid being repetitive here, but really sorry for the delay. Definitely stay positive <3 September will be here before you know it and, perhaps, this delay is timely and will ensure that September is a successful transfer!

    @mojoflower YAY!! That's amazing news. Sending positive energies for positive genetic testing results! Also, do not blame you one bit about the house, but hey! bright side on all things - better to do it now than after you're pregnant and there's sensitivity with the type of paint, smells, etc. I had a friend go through it while pregnant and it was an absolute nightmare! Beware of any lead-based paints! That was another issue she encountered and had to re-paint the whole house after painting it. Like I said, *nightmare*

    AFM:

    I'm just trucking along. I decided to steal @danij823's idea and get socks, but Amazon is delayed, so it may be a game time decision, lol. I am also *really* struggling with my PIO shots. I don't know if my clinic drew the circles way to close to something, but I am in absolute crushing pain every day on the side I stab. No position is comfortable and I'm literally wobbling. Anyone know if taking Tylenol would be OK at this stage? I'll call them anyways tomorrow, but figured I'd ask in case I can get any relief today.

    Also, what did you all do after transfer? Did you eat any special foods? I hear a lot about pineapple and fries, but not sure if there is a specific reason to it? I guess I get it on the pineapple, but what about the fries?  :D

    @mojoflower Congrats on the 2 blasts!!!! Fx for good test results. I agree with @skyee87 that the earlier that paint job gets done the better. I also get more rattled when I’m told to calm down. But when I’m told to ‘breathe’, I feel my mind is more receptive to it. 😗

    @skyee87 I’m sorry your PIO shots are painful. I hope your clinic can suggest some relief for it. As for your post transfer question, I also ate pineapple and pineapple core for at least three days after transfer. Also, I’ve collected some funny vids, pics, jokes and consumed them all right after the transfer for at least 15mins. Good thing it was just me and DH at the waiting area at that time, but anyway I was just giggling so it wouldn’t have bothered anyone if ever. Afterwards, DH and I had lunch out together and when we got home, I changed into my pajamas and watched some funny movies and some The Good Doctor episodes.

    Oh, I just remembered, 2 days before my scheduled transfer, (sorry TMI) DH injected his sperm into me using our last home self insemination kit. DH read somewhere that this would help prep my womb for receiving the egg.
  • @mojoflower Congratulations on your litter! I’m sorry you have to move out again even if it means everything will be painted when you return. Still so stressful!

    @skyee87 I didn’t know they still sold lead paint! I’d be so pissed if I was your friend. You’re getting close to transfer! I’d definitely ask your clinic about the PIO shots. I’ve only had it hurt one time and I’m pretty sure we did it on the existing bruise that time. Oops. In my experience, the shots just feel like normal shots, a pinch and some stinging. It sounds like they didn’t choose a good location for you. :-( Also, post-transfer I ate pineapple core (and the rest of the pineapple, lol) for five days starting on the day of the transfer. Basically, I sliced the pineapple into five slices and had one per day. It’s something about a mineral that’s found in high concentrations in the core, I think. No clue about the fries, though!

    @romeoandjuliet146 I’m so, so sorry to hear that this cycle is a bust! It’s so frustrating on top of the other delays. I hope AF comes soon so you’re able to get started on the next cycle—and FX there are no more delays! ❤️

    @ktb81 Congratulations on your beta!!

    @danij823 and @tinjp78 Congratulations on your great u/s!! I was smiling so hard when I looked at those pics!

    AFM We went to visit my parents the day after FET and it took me this long to convince my phone to let me log on, lol. Anyway, just chugging along and trying to be optimistic. I will cave and POAS if I finally get around to buying one! We fly home on Wednesday and beta is on Thursday. 😬

  • @romeoandjuliet146 Uggghhh so sorry for the delay! but everything happens for a reason and the perfect timing will be that: perfect! so try to breath and focus on the new calendar <3

    @danij823 yeiiiii for listening to the heartbeat! Happy for you!

    @tinjp78 I am 8w6d today! Yes I thought I would facetime with DH on Wed. Glad you had the chance to see your baby again!

    Have a great week everyone!
  • Transfer got canceled. 😞 I’m pretty confident my pain/inflammation is an allergic reaction to the PIO shots, but in any event, I had a fever last night and clinic decided to call it off. Now to find out if I’ll need to repeat my saline ultrasound next month or not, which means potentially transferring in October. Pretty bummed about it; feels like everything this month was for nothing. ☹️

    @danij823 and tinjp78 Congratulations!!! Thank you for sharing the photos with us! So awesome! @danij823 so glad the SCH won't cause any issues.

    @mojoflower and @romeoandjuliet146 September will be here before you know it! I wonder if you both will transfer around the same time! So exciting!

    @Bababatty The 2ww is so long right! Can't wait to see that +!

    @skyee87 My nurse told me Tylenol is fine, but always good to check with your doctor. I am sorry you're in pain. I did the same pineapple thing for 5 days that baba did. I also did the McDonald's fries. They were delicious. I also ordered some things from Amazon...barf bags. The nausea has really settled in. Got sick twice yesterday and the nausea hasn't let up for days.

    @gabriellem99 8w6d! Yay! What are your symptoms?

    AFM: Nauseous, tired and patiently waiting for ultrasound on Wednesday. I am living on saltines, jolly ranchers, V8, and toast. Along with this high beta comes a lot of fatigue and vomit :smiley:
  • @skyee87 Sorry it got canceled. I know exactly how you feel. It felt like all the pills, shots and appointments were for nothing especially for it to be canceled when I was so close to transfer date. Will they give you provera to start your period? I was very disappointed but now am trying to keep myself occupied until my period starts. I hope you feel better.

    @mojoflower Yay for 2. I am excited to hear your results. I remember when I did IVF and just waiting for the emails everyday for updates. Good idea to get the house painted now before you are pregnant. Better to get everything done now especially when pregnancy fatigue happens.

    @Bababatty

    How did your little one do on the plane ride up? I have wanted to take a trip but wasn't sure how my toddler would do.

    @gabriellem99, @tinjp78, @danij823 and @KTB81
    What pregnancy apps are ya'll using?

  • @skyee87 so, so sorry. I know how excited you were for today. **hugs**

    @romeoandjuliet146 I started using Ovia and really like it. I also use the what to expect app.

    @skyee87 Oh no! I’m so sorry you’ve been canceled this cycle! That would definitely make sense that it’s an allergic reaction causing the issue. Will they give you something else next time around? I hope you don’t have to do the saline sonogram again—is there a reason they would?

    @romeoandjuliet146
    She was good! We did bribe her with cookies to keep her mask on in the airport and she was hit or miss with it on the plane, but she’s only just turned 2 so we did our best. We did bring a ton of books and toys with us, which helped as well. I thought I’d be really self-conscious flying with a toddler who might scream the whole way, but I really wasn’t. And other than feeling like pack mules weighed down by car seat, diaper bag, backpack, and toddler, it really was pretty smooth. I definitely recommend trying to go somewhere if you feel comfortable with it.

  • @skyee87 what??!!  No way!  That sucks so much!!!!!  So sorry friend!
  • @skyee87 Oh no! I’m sorry your transfer got cancelled. Please feel better soon. (((Hugs)))

    @gabriellem99 I am glad your appointment went well.

    I think the only symptoms I had in the first trimester were fatigue and mild nausea but at first I had no symptoms.

    @skyee87 Hope you are doing okay.
  • Thank you for your thoughts @KTB81, @romeoandjuliet146, @Bababatty, @danij823, @tinjp78 and @gabriellem99. <3 I took the last couple of days off to regroup and lick my wounds, but feeling better. It was definitely a let down to have the transfer canceled the day before it was supposed to happen, and I couldn't avoid spending all day yesterday thinking about what could have been. But with all of this being said, it was probably better to not proceed with a fever and give the embbaby the best chance. Here is to staying positive and hoping that September is the month. :)

    @Bababatty I tried pushing for an alternative to the PIO shots next time. The clinic is taking the position that it couldn't have been them. They requested I take a COVID test and share the result. I'm still waiting on my COVID test results (not impressed with Walgreens) but I am 100% sure it is not COVID (amazing how as soon as I stopped taking the PIO shots, I felt 1000% better (back pain gone and no fever). So COVID test will be step 1 in trying to convince them that something either went very wrong with the circles they drew on my back or that PIO shots are not my thing.

    A separate step will be this saline ultrasound. The last one I did was in March, and they like to repeat them every 6 months, which means mine expires September 1st. The RE was willing to waive it last time we spoke, but it did not get communicated down to the nurses, so that will be another one I'll need to push for. I would think 20 days past expiration wouldn't be that big of an issue, but I never know anymore.

    @gabriellem99 So glad your appointment went well! I bet listening to that heartbeat is an amazing feeling. Definitely enjoy this time - you and the baby deserve it! <3

  • @skyee87 Will they give you something to start your period? My RE prescribed something for me the day they canceled my cycle.

    Starting this last cycle they made me take a saline ultrasound. I didn't want it but glad I did it because they found a polyp that wasn't there last time.
