  • @angelz429 My experience was the same, two days of brown spotting, one day of bright red spotting, then a little more brown spotting on the 4th day. Thinking of you, I know how nerve racking that can be.

  • @modoodles sorry for the late response, I haven’t been feeling well and being online is a struggle.

I go back next week for another ultrasound. My OB offered to do betas this week, but since it isn’t going to change anything I chose to just wait until my next US.

  • @fuscok88 any update? How are you doing?
  • *This is a partial rant too* I keep spotting and my doctor told me that some women do their entire pregnancy. I just keep freaking myself out about it. Do I just keep on keeping on? Or call the doctor literally every few days? It makes me so anxious that I'm doing something wrong.
  • @lexilougolden I can imagine the anxiety :( the answer sounds like somewhere between the two. like as long as you're checking in with your doctor, and baby is healthy at check ups, it's probably fine (easier said than done, I know). if you're feeling really anxious, there are dopplers you can get that are separate devices or that sync with your phone via an app so you can check at home.
  • @chgilmore I've definitely considered a doppler! I may have to do it to calm my nerves.
@makingbacon thank you for sharing your experience. No one I know (who has been pregnant) has gone through this so their fear that it isn't "normal" increases my fears. I don't know that I have had my progesterone checked... is that standard? I've had several blood tests and they said they're all normal--but I don't know if that is one of the levels checked. I'll have to ask the MA when she calls me back later today. Thanks for the tip!
  • @lexilougolden I would get a Doppler too I’m your case for reassurance! But don’t get to freaked if it’s not consistent for the next few weeks. I’ve heard it’s hard to hear the heartbeat until 14-16 weeks a lot of the time. And do you have any blood clotting disorders? Besides a sch, the more common reason I’ve heard for spotting that is normal is from a clotting disorder. My friend had it and had to take shots consistently through her pregnancy. Factor x? Or something like that.
  • @photographerwife I don't know if I have a clotting disorder. I've donated plasma and they do testing to make sure you're good to do so--so I think they would check for clotting issues. These are great things to ask my doctor though--so thank you for the recommendations!
  • @lexilougolden I dont think they test for blood clotting disorders when you donate blood. You can still doante blood with a blood clotting disorder as long as you arent on blood thinners. I have Factor V and the blood banks are so low right now they are calling me every week.

  • @livingoffpbjs I was actually donating plasma--that was used to help people with clotting disorders. So I guess it would be very ironic if I have a clotting disorder! But it's definitely something I'll ask about. How did you find out about yours?

My doc is going to have me come in for another US Monday. FX!!
  • @lexilougolden my biological father had a severe heart attack at the age of 39, has had heart transplants, kidney transplants along with other medical problems, hes been on dialysis for most of the past 15 years. I found out he has both parts to Factor V Leiden. So when I was pregnant with my daughter I asked to be tested, it came back that I had the one part. Which is better than having both. Ive never had a blood clot before so thats also good. I think I also have Low Protein S? This last appt with my obgyn he ordered a ton of tests and the only thing I think that came back low was Protein S which Im not sure what that means. Since my biological Dad had both parts to Factor V I was guaranteed to get at least one part of it, if not 2. I think you can ask at your next appt to be tested for blood clotting disorders, its just some blood work.

I’m 9 weeks today and last night I noticed some brown spotting. Spoke with a nurse over the phone since I can’t talk to my doctor over the weekend and there are no walk-in clinics here either. This morning I got sick after eating breakfast then noticed bright red spotting when I went to the washroom. Not much but still alarming enough that now I’m sitting at emerg/outpatients waiting to see a doctor. Hoping to see someone soon and at least get some tests to try and figure out it things are ok or what is going on.

So sorry you are going through that - I would keep calling the doctor or keep going in until I got some answers but that’s just how I am. It’s too stressful to just ignore!
  • @mgmac So sorry, it is stressful! Keep us updated! I have an US tomorrow to check on things with my spotting (which has been consistent but light for 8 days now).
  • @mgmac sending good thoughts your way!!

Thanks! Got blood tests with good betas yesterday but ultrasound was unclear so went in today for proper ultrasound.

Unfortunately gestational sac is only measuring at 6 weeks, and they were unable to pick anything else up really so have to go back for more blood work tomorrow. There is a slight chance my dates are just off (because I ovulated late) but I am not really optimistic at this point.

@lexilougolden hope your US went well today and provided some info!
  • @mgmac I'm sorry that you're still in limbo-- fx for you!
  • @mgmac sorry you’re still in limbo :(

@lexilougolden @angelz429 thanks. Going back for more bloodwork today to see if betas are still going up. They said it is possible the dates are just wrong but I do not feel particularly optimistic all things considered.
  • @mgmac goodluck today. We’re thinking about you and sending thoughts and prayers!
  • @mgmac you're in my thoughts today!
