@livingoffpbjs oh man I'm sorry! I'm just about there with you. +1 for talking with your doctor and finding a solution that works for you! when I talked to mine we decided to start with "all ginger all the time" - a constant stream of ginger ale and ginger lemon tea. not science but: my mom also sent me some roll on essential oils in lemon and peppermint that were helpful (if you can stand the scents!). having both going has been pretty good at keeping the head in bucket feeling at bay, though I do still notice that thing are slightly...off. I hope you find relief soon!
A tragedy of symptoms: avocados now smell absolutely disgusting...which means less frequent avocado toast (for context, a scrambled egg on avocado toast has been my FAVORITE breakfast for the last, like, 3 years).
@BusinessWife I sent a message to them and they did tell me about the B6 and Unisom, which I knew and I take at night but I cant take it during the day since it knocks me out (Unisom being a sleep aid). Im not sure if that combo even works or if it stops the nausea because it makes me pass out lol Im worried since they say usually week 9 is the peak of the nausea and Im only 7 weeks, like....... is it going to get worse???? oooooph Im thankful for the nausea but it bites
@livingoffpbjs I'm with you! It hit me at the end of five weeks and I completely stopped posting here it's been so bad. On top of the nausea I still get very hungry and then nothing sounds good/smells good and makes me gag. It's terrible because I'm a SAHM and I still need to feed my 22 month old daughter meals and snacks. And TMI- this morning I threw up my entire breakfast 🤢. I hope we both feel better quickly!! I'm telling myself one more month 🤞.
Add me to the super nauseated list. I opened the fridge this morning to find something to eat, and it just didn’t go well. I was already sick, but I have food aversions to all the things now. Could the progesterone suppositories already be affecting me, or am I just unlucky?
@makingbacon I’m just gonna say unlucky. I’m not taking anything and literally everything stinks to me. My kid hopped on my lap with frito breath last night and I nearly vomited. Everything is awful. lol hope it ends soon! But thankful nonetheless 🙃
@photographerwife I hear you on smells. I travel for work, and the guy I’m traveling with loves cheap hotels. I booked my room at a different hotel this time because the rooms at the cheap hotel always smell weird. He’s not happy, but I am lol. It’s amazing how blessed and thankful I feel while simultaneously feeling like road kill. Fingers crossed it disappears by the end of 1st trimester.
Nausea is kicking in early this time. Usually I’ve been okay until 7 weeks. MH emptied the diaper pail while I was in the girls’ room about to put DD2 to sleep. First vomiting of this pregnancy, achieved.
Also I have had really awful tailbone pain the last couple days. I think it’s the relaxin that makes the joints all wobbly, but sitting for all my zoom meetings yesterday was mot so nice. I had a precarious pile of books making a standing desk, and am waiting for the PT appt I got for next Friday.
I am so freaking tired. I really want to be exercising more (yoga) but I can´t even get the mat out. I know exercise is supposed to help but I swear I am just going to fall asleep in downward dog. Are there any tricks I am unaware of? I need more energy!!!!
My SO was drinking a cucumber juice drink last night, the smell of it kept turning my stomach until I ultimately threw up (my first of the pregnancy). Can't wait to not feel "blah" all the time. It's hard to get things done (especially when I have a wedding to plan!)
@lexilougolden I know! I totally feel you! I’m ready to feel better too. My stomach got turned by cooking dinner last night too, and I had to have dh finish it for me. Goodluck with the wedding planning! Weddings are so much work!
I am so hungry late morning these days. If I don’t eat lunch by 11:30/noon I feel awful. (And routinely 12:30-2 is my usual window. And cant handle much more than a couple bites at dinner.
Does anybody else have good & bad windows of time for eating?
@pricklepants SAME @lexilougolden I can't imagine trying to plan anything right now, let alone a wedding xD I hope you find some relief soon! @photographerwife I've informed MH that I will no longer be cooking anything until further notice because everything except cereal and PBJs smell horrific. kudos you at least tried lol @Eveinshock I'm echoing your "I work full time I can't be doing this" energy today, this is wild how tf am I supposed to function rn. I'm about to march on DC asking for like paid flex pregnancy leave or something because I'm not sick I'm just PG lol.
What week did you guys start having symptoms? I'll be 5 weeks tomorrow and it just doesn't seem real yet. My last pregnancy was so rough, so I feel like I'm just waiting to one day wake up and feel like a switch has flipped. 😬
@katzalia I'm definitely noticing new eating windows. I have to eat early in the morning (within 30 min of getting out of bed) and then I'm ravenous for lunch at like, 10:30am. I will eat small meals/snacks until about 4 or 5, and then I make it even smaller snacks; anything large for dinner just doesn't sit right.
@modoodles I started noticing feeling "off" around when I got my BFP (so 3w3d), but that was mostly just noticing I felt warmer temperature-wise than usual as well as sore boobs. I started feeling really tired during my 4th week and then noticed intermittent nausea in late 4th week/early 5th week. Just know that every pregnancy is different and can take different courses as far as symptoms go depending on hcg levels and how your body responds. if you're nervous, definitely talk to your dr
@modoodles 5-6 weeks I was really bloated/crampy. 7-8 weeks I've been nauseous and really tired.
@chgilmore I'm the same. I have to eat right when I wake up, snack often, lunch at 11. I'm finding nights are my "morning sickness" time and I think I'm going to snack lightly during that time.
I puked behind a pig barn today. I suffered through lunch (smoked meat and cake) and then walked a barn. I have an aversion to both meat and sweets currently, so I was super nauseated before going in the barn. It was super warm and the smell got me. I’m pretty sure everyone knows now. The 3 guys I was walking the barn with have 10 kids amongst them. So we all just pretended I didn’t puke behind the barn.
@makingbacon oh geez, that sounds really really rough! I can't even handle the day after the flowers start to wilt xD seriously though, puking in public, especially with COVID still, is one of my worst fears, because I don't want to have to scream "no it's not COVID I'm just pregnant!"
@makingbacon omg! You poor thing! I can only imagine the smell and heat of the barn making you nauseous! And once you get that nauseous feeling it’s hard to get rid of. I hate to say, but unless you did have a good excuse you did probably out yourself. 😅
@chgilmore It definitely wasn’t ideal. I got a lot of “Oh I know what just happened” looks.
@photographerwife I had no idea what excuse to use because for whatever reason it never occurred to me that this could happen. So I just went with “Sometimes I puke behind barns.” They offered me a mint, and we kept going. The news will probably hit our office before I get back tomorrow night lol.
@makingbacon hopefully they can keep it to themselves so you can share your own news. With 10 kids between them you’d think they’d understand that.
@chgilmore not really related but your “oh no it’s not COVID I’m just pregnant” comment cracked me up because it reminded me of when I was 39 weeks with DS2 and at a JBF sale someone had spilled water and I nearly slipped in it. So I flagged down a worker to let them know to clean it up before someone else fell and she like panicked my water had broken. I said oh no not my waters *insert hand gesture toward ginormous belly*, someone’s water. 😂🤦🏻♀️ Pregnancy is so glamorous.
@chgilmore Yes! Also noticing more cravings and Hangry moments. I go from straight up starving like I am going to cry if I don´t get home to eat, stuff my face until I feel full then I am immediately nauseous. My poor kids have no idea whatś wrong with me but I am getting a lot of side eye.
@DGH1126 that is absolutely me, ravenous to nauseated in 0.0002 seconds xD @fuscok88 LOL now I'm cracking up! pregnancy is definitely glamorous lmao, especially when I'm so bloated and gassy (tmi? does that exist on this board)
I'm also suffering the nausea and queasiness. Coffee is starting to turn me off, which is probably good because I have been in the bad habit of having multiples a day. My boobs are sore, and I want to nap allllll the time, but otherwise doing pretty good over here.

Just had my first puking on Monday! 8weeks along so I'm really grateful I haven't had that issue. Mostly just tired right now, asked to cut my full time hours cause 8 hrs a day is killing me. Feels like I've been partying all night lol. I now also have like 15min window between brushing teeth, getting rid of toothpaste taste, and trying to eat breakfast, so fun.
@tessiesmom26 it’s so unfair that 1st trimester is so exhausting but at the same time coffee either becomes nauseating or a no no for the caffeine😭.
I nearly fell asleep putting DS2 down for his nap today. I did take a nap on the couch after dinner last night until my husband woke me up to out the boys to bed😬. Of course then I couldn’t sleep so I stayed up way past my bedtime reading. Fatigue and insomnia. Super fun.
i got my BFP when I was 5w, and I was wondering if it was possible since I was tired (was able to nap midday) and more hungry… but I had also been on my Peloton daily so attributed it to working out.
Then not many other symptoms until earlier today, light nausea hit for a bit. With my previous pregnancies, I get lots of nausea with no actual throwing up. So I’m expecting the same here…. It’s like a ticking time bomb I think.
@angelz429 I've been trying to keep up on my Peloton because I just got it last month, but it's been kicking my butt! I'm too tired after DS goes to sleep to want to get on and ride and that's the only time I am able to.

My poor husband, When I first found out I was pregnant I was too scared to have sex because I didnt want him to make the baby fall out, then my brother passed away two weeks ago and now im too nauseas for sex. Its been like a month, other than the 6 weeks after having my daughter, weve never gone more than a week I feel bad for him but at the same time im so sick if he mentions it i want to grab an axe and end him lol
@livingoffpbjs the no sex thing is very relatable! you are not alone in this. occasionally I will feel like maybe sex would be good but then the nausea is ever present so....no sex for the last like two weeks
@livingoffpbjs@chgilmore me too! don't feel too bad...with DS I refused to have sex through the first trimester because I was scared something would happen. this time around I'm trying to be more relaxed about it, but also like....can we not? there is nothing i want less than someones mouth in my face right now
