I miss not having DH at home during the work day, but I can finally burn all my freaking candles!! His nose is so sensitive to smells that he gets bothered by anything slightly pungent and hates when I light even 1 candle. I've been burning one next to my desk and then one in the bathroom for about 4 hours in the morning and when he gets home around 6 he can still smell them ha. I blew them out 5-6 hours ago what the heck! Maybe someday we'll be evenly matched in the smell department when I get KU
I hate how particular he can be about this topic, but it did result in me finding the perfect perfume. You know how there's the suggestion to wear a new or specific perfume on your wedding day so that every time you wear it, you and/or YH are reminded of that day? I had to search far and wide for a perfume that is "that after rain smell" because that is DH's favorite scent. But I found it!

Haha you light those candles! Might as well! He will survive. I've never heard of the wedding perfume thing but I like it. I wish I had thought of that.
@inthewoods23 Haha! You are MH and I am YH! I love the idea of candles, but my nose is so sensitive that I have to blow them out shortly after lighting them. Meanwhile MH loves to burn them all day. I sneak behind him and blow them out when he’s not in the room.😬 I never knew that about the “special perfume on your wedding day”. That’s such a brilliant idea.
My FFFC is that I complain about MH kind of frequently on this board 🤪 but he is an absolute saint! I need to be more appreciative of him everyday.
So yesterday MH & I had to travel (by plane) to get to a specialist appointment yesterday afternoon and then stay over for our RE appointment that is today. We got to the airport almost 2 hours early yesterday because we didn’t want to be stressed with the long security lines. (There are TONS of tourists visiting where we live right now, airports are packed.) Luckily the security lines were short and we were chilling at our gate in no time. He went to get food while we waited for our plane to board. Suddenly I realized that I FORGOT the new medicine that we are going to use at our IUI today with the RE. MH had to leave the airport, get our car out of airport parking, speed race back to our house 25 minutes from the airport, rummage through our tiny second fridge where I keep my chilled medicine, speed race back to the airport, park our car, and hustle through security. He got stopped at security to check the meds pack since the ice pack was melting and the bag carries liquids.
I had spoken to our gate agent in advance and she said she’d hold the boarding door open until the last possible second: 5 minutes before takeoff. Well, she stayed true to her word and MH came running to the gate at the precise moment that they were going to have to shut the boarding doors. He was sweating like crazy but feeling like a champion. I appreciate him so much and I need to speak more words of affirmation💗rather than focusing on all the annoying things he does🤪, like leaving all the kitchen cabinets and doors open.😆
@kgg2241 I wish I could say that but he does get headaches from it. But yes, he will survive ha.
@keikilove I love how we can all swap spouses/roles like we're the same people. I think @kiki047 and I have that a lot too between us and our husbands, especially with food! Give YH some gold stars for that speed run for the medicine!
Also add me to the "I complain about X person too much" on this board. I just have to share my coworker's ridiculousness with somebody!

@keikilove oh what a good story! That is seriously amazing that he did all that and made it back in time! What a champ! I am the same way with my husband but he is also amazing. It seems like sometimes it is easier to bond on these online groups when I vent about him because usually everyone can relate 😂.
Your story reminded of a one. A few years ago I was traveling for work and was cutting it super close to missing my flight. I asked people if I could cut in line at security. A lady let me cut and we realized she was on my flight too. She wasn't in a hurry at all so I told her we needed to run or we'd miss it. Well we get halfway to the gate and she realized she left her phone at security. She had to go back and ended up missing the flight. I still feel bad about that one. Maybe if I hadn't rushed her she would have made it just fine?
@inthewoods23 I did that too! It was a special one that I just loved so much and wanted to keep it special, so I don't really wear it ever except special occasions now like Anniversary dates lol I do have another one I love, of what I consider an every day spring / summer scent that just so happens to remind me of ...fresh cut grass! :D Now I'm dying to know what your wedding scent was...
@BusinessWife I did hold off on wearing it until our first anniversary, but ever since I got a full bottle it's all I (and DH) wear
At my wedding my aunt drunkenly said I smelled like fresh laundry haha

@kgg2241 Ah, I can see how you would worry whether you made that lady leave her phone behind and consequently miss the flight. But it sounds like the way she was being nonchalant beforehand, she was going to miss it anyway. At least you gave her a heads-up about the departure time being so close!
*I’ve also traveled a ton in my life (half of it for work) and been in that situation enough times where I’m asking people to let me cut ahead in the security line before I miss my flight, so that now I always let people cut in front of me when they’re rushing through the security line. It kills me when people look at a person crazy and say “No”. How rude! 😆
@inthewoods23 Love your aunt saying you smell like fresh laundry!😄Such a yummy smell!
@businesswife Love how you parlayed this scent convo into a whole GTKY question. Nice! I’m headed over there now.
