Ages (you and SO): both 32

How many months have you been TTC?: 🤷🏼‍♀️ We haven’t been doing anything to prevent for the last 6 months, but I’d say this is the 2nd month of us being more serious about it.

What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: OPKs, CM, prenatals 

Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.)
We have a 9.5 month old daughter that I spent the greater part of our 2 year ttc journey on TTGP for. I literally could’ve never made it through everything without my TTGP friends.

We have 2 cats and a dog (profile pic) that are all goofy af and I’m mildly obsessed with them. I’ve been WFH for the past 14 months because of covid and I think I would’ve actually gone insane without them.
I struggle with the hobbies question right now  because I didn’t have a lot to begin with, and have even less now that activities are restricted. So right now pretty much just Netflix and eating 😆 in my previous life I liked to exercise, but covid sucked that desire out of me too. 

excited to get to know everyone! And I’m sorry if my intro hurts anyone that I recognize on here from last time 💕

Hi all!
My name is Ava. I am 29 years old and my husband is 30. We’ve been trying to conceive for our second since august. We had a chemical pregnancy in September and haven’t had much luck since. I just started tracking bbt this month, in the past I tracked CM. We have a beautiful daughter who just turned 2 in February and desperately wanna give her a sibling. It took us 8 months to get pregnant with her so we expected it to take a bit this round also. I’m excited to join this group!

What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: I think we'll start out just charting and step up the game if we need to

Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.)  I have a 10 year old girl and 5 year old boy, just got married and we want to have a third together.  We have a beagle/lab mix who is 3 years old and I've recently convinced my new hubby we need a puppy.  I'd like to start looking in June when we come home from our annual beach trip.  I work for a science supply company and have plastic body parts laying all around my house, very interesting décor!  I like to bake and have recently become obsessed with the 2 raised garden beds in my back yard.  I stare at the dirt inside of them multiple times a day, just willing the little seeds to sprout and grow.

I'm so excited to be here for real now instead of just lurking!

@b_1029 welcome back! I’ve seen your name before (likely on the TTGP grad thread when I first joined and also maybe lurking?) As others have said, I hope this go round will be much quicker than last time. Do you have a plan in mind? (I.e. if I’m not KUed by x date, we will go see a specialist. Also, did you get a diagnosis last time or was it “Unexplained”?)

@fpb2825 Welcome welcome. I see you’re diving right in with questions. Hopefully you enjoy your stay on here! And that it’s short. 

@jlbaker08 welcome! The plastic body parts around the house is indeed an interesting decor choice. Definitely a conversation starter! What kind of puppy are you planning on getting? Anyway, hope your stay with us is short but sweet!

@acleverusername hahah yes I am a serial lurker 😆 I’ve been wondering how it works in terms of going to see an RE again. Like would I still need to try for a full year before going or could I go if it doesn’t happen in say 6-8 months? I don’t know the “rules” and my H and I haven’t really discussed. He was always in the “it’ll happen, keep the faith” camp and I was squarely in the “if we aren’t making a plan for next steps, I’m going to lose my mind” one ha. We were unfortunately/fortunately diagnosed with unexplained infertility.

@acleverusername MH is ready for the body parts to go back to the office, but he knew what he was getting into when he married me    we're planning to rescue a medium sized puppy from the local shelter, my requirement is that when the dog is old and feeble, it needs to be small enough that I can carry it around if necessary.

@b_1029 I asked my RE that at my first appointment - if we do get pregnant but then want to have another do we try on our own first - and she said to just call them. I’m assuming that is partially to do with my age but I definitely don’t think you would have to wait a full year.

@b_1029 I always wondered that with IUIs. Like obviously you would go back right away if ovulation was the issue. Unexplained diagnoses make me wonder if some REs would say to start back over and come back in a year

How many months have you been TTC?: This is our first month back TTC after the birth of our daughter.

What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: Tracking cycle & BBT, taking PNV's (never stopped taking them in the first place, lol), OPKs, and doing the mattress dance.

Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.): Our daughter is almost 7 months old, she just got her cranial helmet for plagiocephaly and brachycephaly and it's friggin' adorable. We have four large dogs. I'm in the military (going on 19 years) and he's a mechanical designer. I love to run, read books, go to the beach, and just discovered thredUp which is my new current obsession (both buying & selling).

I am 39 and my fiancé is 31.


How many months have you been TTC?:
I am scheduled to remove my Mirena IUD on May 10th and we plan on ttc immediately. We are both so excited to try to get pregnant.

What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?:
So far I'm only taking prenatals for last 2 months. I have been doing research and asking around about other things I should be trying especially considering my age.

Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies,)
I have a 18 year old DS and my fiancé has no children as of right now. We have no pets and we both work in Alcohol and Substance Abuse Treatment. We are recovering addicts ourselves and are dedicated to helping others achieve a future like we were so blessed to be given another chance at.

I am looking forward to meeting u all and getting to know you and support one another on our journeys.

@bdee20 Welcome! And congrats on you & your fiancé beating the addictions and being a model for others of what’s possible! To answer some of your questions about where to start, here is the short list (that may still feel overwhelming):

1) Download the FertilityFriend app to track your cycles. There are other good apps out there too; FFriend is what most of us use here because it’s so easy & intuitive. 

2) If you want to know which supplements are best for your age & situation, read the book “It Starts With The Egg”.  

3) You may want to buy OPK strips & a good basal body temperature thermometer off Amazon. Lots of people don’t do this when they first start out, but I listed it since you mentioned being aware of your age and these tools will help you pinpoint ovulation and your fertile week much faster than not using them. Good luck!

Ages (you and SO): 31 and 37

How many months have you been TTC?: 3 actively trying, but also not preventing for the last year. 

What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: Letrozole and OPKs. I just ordered the Mira fertility monitor too. I don't ovulate naturally and have low AMH. It took two years of fertility treatments (Clomid/letrozole/trigger shot) to conceive our first. I want to move faster to more aggressive treatments if necessary this time. I never felt like I deserved to do an IUI and never really advocated for myself. I should probably talk to a therapist about why that is 😅. 

Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) I've been on and off these boards for a few years and have met some of my closest friends on here! I look forward to connecting with all of you and offering support where I can. We have a 1.5-year-old daughter and a dog and cat. I am a city planner and that is probably my hobby too-- traveling and exploring! I also like gardening and just being outside.

Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) We have one DD who will be 4 this summer. I'm a librarian and DH works in a research lab. I love board games and enjoy cooking/baking (although DH is the main chef in the family). I lurked and participated on TTGP with my first and it was a huge help so I'm excited to be back!

@stormageddon-darklordofall Haha, I fulfill many of the dorky librarian stereotypes. I will also agree on the more of a baker! I can cook decently, but cooking meat always kind of freaks me out due to unrealistic fears of undercooking and making someone sick. Cake almost never accidentally poisons people.

@kgg2241 since you're already on to fertility treatments, feel free to hop into the Weekly IF thread. We're a pretty great bunch over there and when you're in treatment, more support is better IMHO.
