@texas_t I've bought a few christmas gifts, but I feel like I need to get on it. I have 5 nieces/nephews and 2 close friend's kids to shop for on top of my daughter.
My daughter often tells me "I think it's a sister" I always tell her I don't know, It might be a brother.

@mrosek91 DS always wants one of us to lay with him at bedtime. Otherwise, he just plays and jumps on the bed so we usually lay with him for a bit. He sleeps the whole night once he is asleep so I'm just trying not to worry about it right now.
@mimser HAHAHA I've been using a menstrual cup for a good 9 or 10 years now, and YES that is so relatable. Also, the first time you drop it in the toilet, OR when you decide to take it out at the sink because you think it's empty and drop it, only to find out that it's NOT empty and your white bath mat looks like a slaughterhouse floor. Whoops!
@texas_t MH's family does secret santa for Christmas, and it's always themed. In theory it's supposed to be less work because you only have one person to buy for but they have zero boundaries and no limits so it always gets out of hand. I'm already mildly stressed about it, but I have his grandmother so I'm hoping I can do a bunch of baby-themed great-grandma type stuff, and maybe some food. Everyone else is getting stuff I can buy on Amazon.
How many of you have registries? Is it weird to change my privacy setting to public near the end of Nov (we'll be well into 2nd tri by then) with hopes that maybe we might get some early baby gifts out of it? lol I'm told I'm notoriously hard to shop for so I'm really hoping I'll get some maternity stuff for Christmas.

@mimser and @kiki047 LOL - My husband had to remove mine for me, too, lolololol. I got a flex cup the same month I got pregnant, so I haven't tried that one! The horror stories are the best.
@kiki047 Man, absolutely make it public. Etiquette sites may say one thing, but honestly, I've never been mad at a pregnant woman for having a registry!
@texas_t at the risk of this coming off as bratty and entitled, I'm somewhat concerned that my very excited parents are going to start buying things and it's not going to be what I want. I'd rather steer them in the right direction as much as possible. Especially for a FTM. It's not like I'm going to send out my registry in our Christmas cards or anything lol, so hopefully it doesn't come off as greedy?
@mrosek91 I've never done broiled chicken but I've cooked fish and steak that way so I don't see why that would be any different.

@kiki047 do it! I'm switching mine to public as soon as we announce (which we are doing tonight!). I mean, most everyone already knows but we're going to do a social media announcement tonight (I'll be 12 weeks on Saturday and I just got to see the little bebes a few days ago and all was well).
@gusgus14 YAYY! We just found out MH's Aunt and cousin are coming into town tomorrow so we want to go tell them in person since we hardly ever see them and may not get another chance for a while.
Did we end up creating an announcement thread?

@mimser that’s so funny! The first time I tried the diva cup, I couldn’t get it out. I panicked. My best friend is an NP at a family doctors office and I called her and was like.... I need you to remove my diva cup NOW!!! Hahaha. Good times and good friends 🤣
another vote here for the announcement thread! that way we can discuss timing and if feeling so inclined, share what we did (with omitted personal info) my last BMB had this thread stickied
Can y’all help me out? My due date is 5/14 (11 weeks today). Does the second tri start at the beginning of week 12, when I have 12 weeks behind me? Or at the end of that same week (12+6)?
Not only am I counting the days 😝, but I’m trying to figure out when to tell family. If it’s when I go into my 13th week, that would be Oct. 31, but if it’s at the end of 13 weeks, that’s 11/5. My birthday is 11/2, so I’ll be talking to my family then and would like to tell them about the best gift ever.
I know it’s not really like some magic switch flips that week, but I mentally would like to clear that date before getting my family’s hopes up!
Thanks for helping with my pregnancy arithmetic. I tried google and get 2 answers.
My OB considers each trimester 13 weeks so you'd be in your 2nd trimester once week 14 starts but I've seen some places online say the start of week 13 is the start of 2nd trimester.
@ec1212 my last BMB actually had a poll about when the first tri ends because it seems no one can agree. What I have heard is that the don't tell before 12 weeks rule has nothing to do with first tri. It's 12 week specific. I always tell after the 12 week check-up. Which this time will be 12+0.
@mrosek91 - you should definitely check out the ColorStreet website! They have all kinds of solids and pastels, as well as prints and seasonal designs. If you decide you like them, I would recommend finding a Colorstreet stylist page on Facebook if you're on that sort of thing 😊 the stylists are always running fun promos and doing freebie contests and giveaways... but then you see all the new designs get posted which just makes you want to buy more, lol.
@ruby0902 I haven't tried color street but I tried the Jamberry ones once and it just wasn't my thing. Too much work! But I have a few friends who have done parties and I've always wondered about them.
@mrosek91@texas_t@spartan4life@ruby0902 Colorstreet nails are awesome!!! I definitely like to keep girly things simple, my friend had one of those Colorstreet parties and I bought a bunch. I’m so happy with them! They are actually nail polish ready to stick on, and you just file off the extra. It’s super easy. They have such a wide range of designs, anyone could find something they like.
I actually loved Jamberry back in the day they lasted so long and for some reason were super easy for me to use. I haven't tried Color Street but also I never paint my nails anymore. They sound interesting though!
My dad is in town this weekend from Colorado (we are in MI) so we were planning to do a little birthday party for DS since he turned 2 on Wednesday. It was going to me my in-laws, DH's grandma, his sister and us. I spent all morning making two lasagnas and getting the house cleaned, and of course 2 hours before they were supposed to come, MIL calls and says she has a sore throat and thinks it's strep. But since she doesn't think it is COVID they could still come...ummm no, I don't want any of it if you're sick with anything! So it will just be us and my dad celebrating today I guess. And we were going to reveal the baby's sex today so I think we are still going to do a zoom call or something for that. It sucks!
