@tryingktogku Oh ya, for sure haha. I can tell its kicks from its punches and can even feel its individual feet when it pedals them. And sometimes it puts its bum right out towards the front. It likes to switch between having its head down and laying across. I’m almost 28w though so might be further along 😊
@tryingktogku. I don't know where he is, so I just say kicking all the time. But we were watching a movie and he was all stretched out. I would get movement way up high and then a minute later way down low. DH said he was doing jumping jacks and that was the perfect visual.
Petty vent. I have a bug bite one my ankle and I can’t even with it.
I’m just SO miserable physically right now and this stupid bug bite is just like one more thing. So I’m like-irrationally bothered. And whining. Dh is like 🙄🙄🙄🙄
@the_road_to_oz@dobiemom11 fun fact but bugs like people who are RH positive more than people who are RH negative and O blood is the “sweetest” scent and taste for them. So if you’re O+ bugs will always gravitate towards u lol
@tryingktogku. I am positive and always getting eaten up!! But just less patience for it now I think. Trying to get quotes for screening in the back porch.
@tryingktogku it’s quite possible this baby has O blood. It’s on both sides and recessive. I’m A+, DH is B. His dad and my mom are both O, my dad is A, his mom B. So our kids could have ... anything. 😂
@dobiemom11 LOL well I hope u get one! @the_road_to_oz oh wow that is a big genetic pool! I am O+ and I have no idea what DH is haha but I always get eaten alive!
Right now where I live the temp only gets up o about 57 so too cold for the bugs as fall has settled in lol
question for everyone also! Has anyone found NICE maternity tank tops? I’ve trie Liu&Qu on Amazon that we’re great but Pilled then motherhood maternity which were crap quality but I love wearing tanks with cardigans in the fall but my usual tanks do not fit anymore haha
@tryingktogku have you tried H&M’s mama tanks? I have a basic black and basic white one that so far have maintained their stretch and haven’t pilled through 2 summers of wearing. Nothing fancy, but not too see-through and perfect for a base layer.
@tryingktogku I wore a lot of H&M mama tanks with my last pregnancy. Bc it was all that was available, but they never really fit me right. I’m a big fan of the Target “Maternity scoop neck tank tops, Isabel maternity. They are super stretchy, but comfortable and work well for BF too. I kept wearing them as undershirts/ under cardigans well after DD was born. I just bought all of the new colors available last week!
Anyone use any type of hip support? I don’t know why this pregnancy my right hip is dying. And tonight it felt like it cramped and then it went down my leg which can also be sciatica but it’s mainly my hip where I feel it.
So this morning DS wet the bed for the first time in months. It wasn't a huge deal but he ended up soaking a talking Woody doll in the process - of course it's his favorite toy. DH ended up decapitating him while trying to get the electronic stuff out to wash him. Soooooo, we told DS he went to the toy factory to get washed and quickly ordered a new one to pick up at Target.
@karmba. The perils of being the favorite toy... decapitation! I loved your description.
I woke up today with a massive headache. So across the street, some large trucks show up with chainsaws and a wood chipper. My neighbor is having a bunch of trees cut down and I just can't even today!! It feels like they are drilling into the base of my skull.
Working from home with an 19 month old is no joke. My MIL usually watches him but she got hurt and hasn't been able to lift him. So today he is home with me as I try to get all of my work done. Wish me luck!
So DH is working about 9 hours away from where we live and I was supposed to drive with my MIL this Thursday morning to go visit him for a few days but my MIL is sick and Can’t come now and now I’m thinking I shouldn’t go because the idea of driving big highways 7 months pregnant by myself for 9 hours is a little scary. But I really want to see DH it’s been two months since I’ve seen him so I’m torn on what to do gah
@tryingktogku - Ohh man! 9 hours in a car seems like ALOT - especially being the one driving! I don't know how you've gone this long without him though and I'd also be pretty torn! Does he get any days off and you guys could meet half way?
@tryingktogku aw man that sucks. Is there anyone else that you can go with? Or like @feather_heather suggested, can he meet you halfway? 9 hours is a lot for sure! I can't even seem to stay awake for 9 hours being at home, let alone focusing and concentrating on driving.

@feather_heather@bearmomma1 no he is working on an industrial plant shut down, so he works from like 5am-9pm every day until the plant is up and running again but I thought it’s be worth it just to see him for an hour in the evenings but idk about driving that far on my own! The earliest he will be home is mid October and he said he will be home by November for sure because I’ll be like 35 weeks lol so it sucks cuz if I don’t go I don’t see him for another month at the earliest
@laurenspdx ya 4 hours away but I’ve only got Thursday-Monday off so the plan was to drive Thursday and Monday and spend Friday-Sunday there and I’m not super comfortable stopping still with covid lol like I pack all my own food and don’t stop usually other than to let me pup stretch his legs and pee and whatnot
Anyone have Halloween plans yet? We have decided to let the kids go trick or treating as usual, even if it means less houses are lit up and participating. and started looking for costumes.
@babymakes9 We let our son pick a costume (Grandma makes them for him) and will dress up, but we're not comfortable with trick-or-treating this year. We'll probably knock on the door of a friend and of Grandma and Grandpa and then have a family treat together.
I wouldn't be surprised if trick-or-treating is cancelled here to reduce the temptation to ignore social distancing. We haven't heard anything yet though.
@babymakes9 we just booked a cabin at a Jellystone camping resort for next weekend - they're doing a pumpkin patch theme weekend with a lot of activities. A lot of crafts you can take back to your cabin, outdoor movies, scavenger hunts etc. I'm not sure on trick or treating yet. I'm going with a wait and see approach. If we don't trick or treat, I'm going to have some type of candy hunt for him in the backyard with a Halloween themed dinner and movie night. He's super excited for Halloween in general so I'm hoping trick or treating isn't cancelled and people just leave bowls of candy out.
@gingkomama our governor announced that he will not tell us we can't go trick or treating, which is surprising because he hasn't let us do much of anything yet (Cuomo in NY). So we are in the clear on that front at least - that it's not illegal.
@tryingktogku That stinks! 9 hours is a long trip. Back when my DH and I were dating, his work transferred him to a city 10 hours away, so I made that trip a number of times, but I obviously wasn’t pregnant at the time. The only thing I could recommend is to leave early enough to stop frequently for walks with your dog to stretch your legs or just have a little nap in the car. Also, if you do decide to make the trip definitely wear compression socks! They make a big difference!
@babymakes9 I was just talking to my DH about Halloween yesterday! Like @gingkomama we aren’t going trick or treating but still plan on dressing up and going to my parents’ house, my in-laws house and DH’s brother’s house. I want to find some other fun stuff to do as well. @karmba I love your idea of a backyard candy hunt, special meal, and Halloween movie! I already make “mummy dogs” every year before we go trick or treating, and my kids love them! Maybe if I add a few more things, it’ll make it even more special. Do you have any foods in mind?
@readermom1 mummy dogs are definitely on my list and popcorn hands (plastic gloves with candy corn fingernails filled with popcorn). So far that's all I have - but maybe dirt cups decorated like graveyards for dessert or I'll see if I have any Halloween cookie cutters and we can decorate cookies. I might make a punch with gummy worms, I think he'd really get a kick out of that.
@karmba. Oh man...now I want dirt cups!! So good and fun. I wonder if my neighbors would like that. I was thinking of just making goodie bags for the neighborhood kids to drop off, but was going to use prepackaged candy and treats. It is hard to know if people would eat something homemade this year.
@babymakes9 we haven’t decided yet. We were going to see if any neighborhoods were doing trick or treating. My son won’t really be participating but we usually walk with my sister and her kids every year. If that doesn’t happen we will do a Halloween scavenger hunt as a family.
@tryingktogku 9 hours is long. But totally doable. I’ve don’t a zillion solo cross country trips so I guess im used it it. A lumbar pillow saved me the last long drive I did
Maybe if you get a nice early start. 7 am or something you can go for 3 hours then take a break to do a walk/ exercise Streatch and eat. Then get back to it for a few hours and do the same thing
I always download some podcasts or audio books. Podcasts are free- I use the stitcher ap and can download them to the phone so they don’t suck up all my roaming data. You might also be able to download audiobooks from my library.
Some podcasts I’ve listened to: -heavyweight-funny awkward guy who’s done a lot with this American life -serial -serial killers -detailed look at the life of notorious serial killers. Not always the best for Cross country trips. I’m scared of camping now:/ -behind the bastards, some pretty political some not. Kinda depressing but also funny -the moth , recordings of live short story telling events
