I will go where the group goes but I like the idea of a PG here first. But like others have said I don’t wanna lose anyone. I know when my A18 started 1 admin friended everyone so they could join the group then you could choose to unfriend her after you joined the group.
I also think that having an admin from each week is a great idea.
> We open the private TB group. Invite those who want to join into the group. There should be preset requirements to make the FB group ultimately. That way expectations are clear, I just asked my S14 admin what ours was back in the gap because I don't remember. I think it was like a certain post score (maybe like 500 comments?), if you didn't participate on the main threads someone from your group (AMA, High Risk, Multiple, etc) had to vouch for your credibility / participation (and not like they had to write a paper on the person, just general knowledge about who someone is), and the biggest one was no joint FB accounts... But I think setting this standard early is key to prevent people from "not knowing" what they had to do.
> From the private group, if you don't meet certain requirements no joining FB. (FWIW, S14 did not do a private group, we kept everything on the main thread and then in early Oct after everyone had their babies we moved to FB, but I feel like TB didn't suck as much back then).
> I am a visual person too, faces and names are so much easier for me. But you'll be surprised when we move over to FB how many people are still recognized by usernames - almost all of my S14'ers call me ecat still (they even sent me a wedding gift to "ECAT" -). And some names I see in there and I'm like "danielle" = dmarie....
> I love the idea of picking one admin from each weekly check in, but that leaves room for "ties". We voted on admins in S14. People volunteered and it went through rounds of voting until we narrowed it down to 3 admins. 5 is too many, imo.
@kitkatz1990 I, too, voted FB but I would be fine with PG first then switch to FB. I think FB is easier for me to navigate and I would check in/post much more frequently due to accessibility and notifications. That being said, I like having this group so I will continue making the effort with a PG first if that is where the group wants to go

I was really torn on this because while I agree FB is much easier to use, I also think the PG would help establish admins and work through any issues before moving to FB. I ended up voting for the bump PG but I'm fine with whatever. I don't participate all the time but I do try to at least check in with my week.
Lol this is the first name I do not recognize ^^ BUT I openly admit I do not frequent all threads.

@lurvleybunchococonuts ditto. I searched the introduction thread and didn't see that screen name. But it could be that the bump app sucks and the search didn't work. I also don't frequent every thread
@sweetzypie1286 have you posted in the introduction thread? I'm curious since I couldn't find it.
Haha. Perhaps we should get moving on this sooner rather than later. Do I have a motion for opening up a private bump group with the goal of opening up a Facebook group for members (guidelines and admins to be established later) September 14th (4 weeks from today)?

Despite my previous comment, when the group eventually moves to FB I’ll probably be on there more than I am now. I value the camaraderie of this group and the experience of the STMs. Y’all lovely ladies are giving me a much-needed confidence boost going into motherhood! ❤️
I'm all for private bump group first and then Facebook. Then we have a good month to iron out how exactly we want to migrate to Facebook, who the admins will be, and how we want things to operate over there. I'm with @Ecat504 that the more clear we are with these things up front, the better. We're all in the middle of it now, but a year or so after babies are born, it's really easy for drama to start up because no one remembers or wrote down what the original plans were.
I like the private group idea. I did go ahead and vote Fb on this poll initially because I am struggling to participate lately due to the annoying ness of the app. But in reality, I like the transition that the private group offers. Like @Ecat504 and others, I experienced a handful of schisms in my D14 group.
I like the idea of an admin from each week on the TB private group! I would say though, that I’d prefer everyone have admin capability on a FB group. We did it that way for D14 and it worked out pretty well. That way no one has more control than another, no one gets offended, etc.
@magdaaaa@bundleofjoy4iluvu I'm an O18 mama too! But I never made it over to Facebook because I got lazy and didn't ask to be added until later and then I couldn't find the group. 🤷♀️
I voted for FB! TB just drives me insane with this set up, it is over all the place sometimes. FB is just user friendly, faster, and I am on there daily.

I voted FB but have no issues with a PG first. I just can't wait to get off this app and participate more! But the plan sounds good to me and gives everyone the chance to become more comfortable with the switch.
You may have to remind me @crizz13. I fed want to make the switch because I love our J18 group but I never seem to get notified in this app when people “tag” me .. and I suck at checking this
@potofgolden hey fellow Libra! Nothing gives me more anxiety than having to make a decision for a bunch of people and possibly have some of them mad at me 😬.
@potofgolden I am a Leo (my bday is July 23rd, I am a cusp baby, first day of Leo). We are supposed to be natural leaders and all that jazz... but OMG I am the exact same way. If it is just me, I can make a decision, but anytime other people are involved I get so worried and cannot make a choice because I want everyone else to be happy
I haven't forgotten about this. I am attempting to make the PG here on the bump (emailed on Monday night) and have yet to hear back even though I've followed up twice. Annoying.
@doublestroller Seriously! I'm trying to find an actual phone number to call if I don't hear anything by Monday. I'm not sure what else to do..... @BumpAdmin
Lurking from October. Good luck getting the admins to help you with a group. We tried. Multiple members emailed them multiple times with no response. So we just left TB all together and went to FB.
I was doing a bit of lurking in September 2020 just to see how it went with their transfer and though they got a group set up, a lot of them had trouble getting into the group. I was one of the ones all for a private bump group first before moving to FB but with what @anitamargarita_82 said about not getting responses, is it worth the headache trying to set up a private bump group? It would be really sad to loose anyone and if someone can't get into the private group (if we can get one set up even) because of tech issues and then gets left behind in the move to FB that would be really dumb!
@crizz13 I say if we can't get an answer from @bumpadmin by Monday afternoon we just start discussing moving straight to FB. If others are on board, of course!
