I just found a box of thank you cards from our wedding almost a year ago that didn't get mailed. I feel awful. I think I ran out of stamps and put these aside to hand-deliver and never did. FML.

@kiki047 is the weird rule that you have up to a year to thank people?

On that topic, I have yet to send a gift out to my cousin who got married back in February. We did also spent $1k to fly there so... do I bother at this point? I did buy a card to mail with a check. Half of my delay is because I never know how much to gift in terms of cash. Suggestions??

@kiki047 Miss Manners says you have a year to send thank yous out, so better late than never IMO! Don't feel bad, it happens more often than you'd think! 

@inthewoods23 I would probably send a physical gift at this point - like directly from Crate & Barrel or something. I'd budget around $100 (note: I normally do at least $200 for a wedding, but since it was a destination for you guys I think it's perfectly appropriate to dial it back a bit).

@inthewoods23 @mvt2003 really? Well thank god... unfortunately (or maybe fortunately) it's our immediate families that weren't sent so they're more likely to understand but we also have no excuse for not giving it to them because we see them all the time lol. Whoops. 

And on that note with gift-giving, *TW* I was invited to a baby shower for someone I used to be really close to, like BFF-territory, but who has been a truly horrible friend throughout the TTC process (you probably recall some of my stories about this girl) and who has been downright awful since she got KU. Well, she had the baby 9 weeks early due to pre-eclampsia and never had her shower anyway because of Covid. So I just never sent her a gift. I also haven't said more than 3 words to her since the birth (once I knew they were both OK) so my non-confrontational self hopes this is it and I can just let this fade away. But of course my guilt is eating away at me.

@kiki047 I feel that with the thank yous being for immediate family it's way easier to make a joke of it considering you see them a bunch. That reminds me that I need to send gifts to my neighbor and friend who were supposed to have showers last month but cancelled them. First the wedding gift... then the showers... I'm a hot mess at this.
