@hypermusic we potty trained right after 2 (I think 26 months?). She did great the first week and didn’t really have accidents after that, but there were a lot of hurdles the first couple months. She didn’t like our potty at home for a couple weeks, only the one at daycare. She didn’t want to poop in the potty for like a month so she would wait for her night diaper. She didn’t want to use public bathrooms for like 3 months. She didn’t want to go to the bathroom when I requested it, only on her own schedule. Etc. Etc. I have friends who did it at 3 and had an easier experience for a lot of those things. That said, I think regressions are pretty normal right now since the world is a pretty weird place to live these days. Btw I think I have the same shirt - is that from target?!
@hypermusic, I started the day she turned 18 months because I wanted progress made before D2 was born. It was a bit of a slow process, but I'm happy we did. By the time D2 was born, she was fine at home if we regularly asked her and put her on the toilet and told her to go, but we'd still put her in diapers out and about. And that stopped awhile later, not sure when.
She's almost three now and has had a bit of a regression in the last couple weeks. Not substantially, but sometimes she won't either go by herself or come get us, but instead she'll leak. She never fully pees, and then sometimes will get us after wetting or will just be wet until we realize. We're working on it and she's improving again. We're also asking her more often instead of relying on her gong by herself.
