@blackgirlmagic I found this good workout channel on YouTube the other week
she's called Melinda Pedersen and if you look at her playlists she has 3 different
15min work outs per week of pregnancy. Most of them don't use any equipment, some just use resistance bands or light weights that could easily be subbed for bottles
of water. I've been enjoying them recently.
@wednesdaygirl1019 Thanks, I've googled it now and it looks
tasty. In the UK a casserole is the same as a stew we would probably call it a
breakfast egg bake or something like that. I just couldn't get past the idea
that it would be eggs stewed in brown gravy and vegetables.
Sorry girls to make you all crave pierogies!!! That was so not my intention! I didn't realize we had so many Polish/Eastern Europeans in the group!! FYI - I'm neither but grew up in a Polish town and MH is of Polish descent.

Ugh, I've had site issues, too. TB logged me out, and for the life of me, I could not remember the email I used to sign up with. And TB doesn't let you login with your username. I hit forgot password but never got an email. I thought I knew what email account I would have used to sign up with, but apparently not!
So, it is I, coldlife, now coldlife2 because I had to make a new account.
@coldlife2 I got so confused because I knew it was you but also was questioning myself on if the 2 had always been there. The issues this week with the app have been so so dumb.
The app has been bad for me too! I wonder if it's getting more use with everyone stuck at home all the time. I either have really intense non-pregnancy cravings or very mild pregnancy cravings bc they aren't much different, but once I get Chipotle in my mind I usually crave it until I get it! @coldlife2 I never understood the sig comments, but I have never used Bump from a computer! It's all coming together now!
@wife-and-mommy, yes, if you're on a computer, you can see signatures. Some people have tickers, their TTC journey, GIFs whatever. You can also disable seeing them on desktop in your settings if you want.
Add me to the list of cannot use the app. I was able to get it to work last week if I turned off wifi and waited a few minutes to load but now it will just spin forever and not open at all. So unless I go on the computer, and wait a few minutes for each thread to load, I cannot access TB on my phone. So annoying.
I also still do videos from FitnessBlender. They're not prenatal specific but most can be modified to be safe for pregnancy. Their website also lets you filter by difficulty level, type of exercise, muscle group, etc. so you can pick a workout that's right for you.
A former colleague of mine is doing a survey about how the covid pandemic is affecting couples. I used to do similar research in grad school so I wanted to share to help them out! https://usc.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_6ldQ9QMXpQOmnMV
I put a bottle of wine on our registry today in the “for the parents” section. I hope nobody thinks I’m a terrible mom already, haha. I swear I won’t open it until he’s here!
viola_mama I love it! I had a gf tell people to bring a bottle of wine when they come to visit the baby, lol. But since the virus happened, no one has been able to see her or the baby. I already know the bottle I'm going to bring her when I can see her. She told me she will return the favor.

@viola_mama One of my close friends dropped a welcome baby/new momma care package off with her friends who recently gave birth. She waited until they were home from the hospital and sent her a message to check her porch in 10 minutes. There was momma's favorite wine, daddy's favorite beer, an extra package of diapers and wipes, some toilet paper, a small soft toy for baby, and a box of cupcakes. From what I understand it went over hella well and I am honestly just jealous that I don't live near by her so she can't give me the same socially distant drop box when I give birth in August! I think people who have had children get it, new babies are part celebration and part "Oh gosh they let me leave with this?!! Do they know who I am?!" I'd never judge a parent for wanting a favorite drink, but I'm also the first person to send mom and dad their favorite take out while they are in the hospital after birth or at least make sure they are getting a box of goodies and snacks delivered at home.
I'm excited we decided to get a spiral ham for Easter dinner. I've been craving sandwiches so bad since being pregnant, so I will be eating a ton of ham sandwiches. I know I could heat any sliced deli meat then eat it but the thought of that makes me nauseous even when I'm not pregnant.
My craving for jimmy johns sandwiches starts the second I can't have deli meat and @catana15 the thought of heated deli meat is not appealing at all haha. I am really wanting it bad today with a pop and chips. UGHHHHH. It was my first meal after DD and I ate it for 3 days after having her. I will repeat this ritual.
I'm in the club of desperately craving a sub sandwich, specifically from Jersey Mike's. I'm not a huge fan when not pg, I mean they're good and I'll eat a sub now and then, but now I really want one that I can't have it!! Ugh, and definitely heating it is out of the question!

Reading this thread from start to finish really makes a girl hungry! Also motivated to workout, so, #balance.
I really need to find a strength training groove for the back half of this pregnancy. I've been doing well with cardio, but I was loving going to pilates 1-2x/week before the stay at home and that of course is off the table now. The studio I go to posts daily mat workouts but, ugh, I feel unmotivated and also get nervous that I'm going to accidentally do something off limits for this stage of pregnancy.
Also yes to wine being the perfect gift for a new mom! Anyone else thinking of converting their baby shower to a post-delivery sip and see? I wasn't planning on an actual shower but did want to get brunch with a few of my friends at some point, and it now seems like this fall might be a better time for that.
@viola_mama that's genius! And @RedBaramid those sound like awesome friends to have. Our friends had a baby last month so we shipped them a few bottles of nice wine. It's their second and same gender so they don't need any more baby stuff, but they could use some celebration.
Is anyone else feeling ready to move to a PG? Maybe I'm not the best person to instigate since I've barely been here the past few weeks, but every time I come here I think how much more comfortable I would be at this point, especially given all the crazy circumstances, if we were in a PG.
@maelove Jimmy John's is my post-birth meal request too! With salt and vinegar chips smooshed on the sandwich. In the Before Time I was craving it so bad that I just ended up ordering it one day (reading Expecting Better made me feel okay about the choice). I don't even really like sandwiches that much but definitely hearing I "can't" have something makes me crave it more!
I’m not a huge sandwich person because every lunch seminar in my grad school offers lunch sandwiches. I’ve had sandwiches a minimum of 3 days a week for the last 4 years 😂 not complaining because free lunch, but they are definitely not something I crave
@rivercitynik mmmm salt and vinegar chips sound so good 🤤
In keeping with the food trend, just ate a healthy serving of Ben and Jerry’s half baked to celebrate finally making it to 20 weeks 🎉
This is so random... but like, fellow moms with older girls.. my kiddo has just a handful of Barbie sized dolls and her biggest hold back on playing with them is a lack of clothes for them, where the heck do you buy these things? I had been kind of eyeballing in Walmarts and Targets before the lock down and even in those places you can only buy like an outfit or two at a time anymore. I remember being a kid and my mom could buy me an entire like, flat of doll clothes at a time. I know I can get some sketchy poor quality stuff on Amazon but I honestly would rather pay for quality because she does take good care of her dollies. Any suggestions? If anyone can point me in the direction of something I can order for her I'd be grateful, she's handling this isolation like a champion and hasn't gotten anything "for fun" for quite some time, and I'd really like to surprise her/light up an afternoon for her.
@RedBaramid I see what you mean. (Also, @BusinessWife, meet rabbit hole) There are a few things I see listed on Walmart and Target's websites, and like single and two-pack outfits at Mattel. :/ I wonder if you might have better luck trying Etsy or even eBay? I mean of course not all listings are created equal, but you might just find a gem! I feel like I just had So. Many. Barbies and would basically swap the outfits around. :/ Or if a playset came with an outfit, the I would have a new one. Or I got a few outfits that were handmade by grandma or my mom's friends. 🤷Not sure if you would get crafty like that, yourself tho, or maybe even get her into it eventually?
@rivercitynik YES to salt and vinny chips. They are a must with JJs.
@fitandnerdy I hope by health serving you mean the whole pint!
@roo_baby I am so glad you are feeling better. I would also feel more comfortable in a PG (esp with bump pics); however, I noticed there are still people just starting in the intro thread. I would hate to leave/potential others out them out. Also with my last BMB, I did not get more active until the second half of pregnancy when I felt more secure in things. Might want to hold off a bit longer if we all can? I will do either...just my thoughts!
@maelove Yes, that is my one concern, too. But in my last BMB, there were a few latecomers who we added to the PG once we noticed they were more active in the main group. I think a lot of the standard threads like product recommendations would stay here. We would probably have weekly randoms in both places and people can choose where to put theirs based on how personal they are. But there would still be a chance for newcomers to get involved.
My mom is coming by during nap time to hide some eggs in the front yard. It will be a fun little Easter activity that I am looking forward to!
My husband is doing his weekly mowing and yardwork. Over the past week he power washed and stained the deck so our backyard is coming together and ready for summer! It's a beautiful sunny day which is nice since yesterday we woke up to everything being covered in snow!!
I hope you all are having a nice and relaxing holiday weekend! Based on recent posts, there will be lots of good food to enjoy!
@BusinessWife I appreciate your spiraling down the Barbie clothes rabbit hole with me. I have made her some pieces by hand in the past for sure. I'm not opposed to it, but it's hard to surprise someone when they see you pulling the sewing machine down and you're "borrowing" a dolly. I remember I had HEAPS of Barbies and they did all come with a new outfit so I constantly got new stuff that way too. I just remember those big flats of doll dresses and man would one of those be handy right now. I've got a few things in my Target kart for delivery so maybe I just suck it up and order the few little things I can get that way. My kiddo is into her dolls, but not to the point where she asks for new ones often. It's a rare thing for her to ask for because if you're letting her choose a gift she's run down the Lego aisle faster than you can finish the sentence for the most part. The Barbies all have custom lego furniture at our house.
@maelove and @roo_baby I would like to wait a bit longer for the private group. Life is hectic right now and I am having a hard time keeping up here and being as present for this group of ladies as I would like to be. I don't think I would do well with things even more spread out. My preference would be to wait until closer to birth or even just after birth and switch over to Facebook with a finalized and hopefully great group of ladies.
