@inthewoods23 - I'm so sorry for your loss  I hope you are able to take some time to relax and reset before next week. I'm glad you were able to finally find a therapist and get an appointment scheduled, and that you've been getting a positive response from your post. Take time to grieve and be with your family, we will be here for you when you get back!

@inthewoods23 geez, my friend. I am so sorry to hear all of this and so very sorry for your loss. It's never easy losing someone but grandparents are especially hard. I hope YH makes it there to be with you during this difficult time. Take as much time as you need, but know that we are all here for you and we are all here keeping you in our thoughts. I am proud of you making your public FB post though, I bet it felt so good to get all of that out there and I know it will help others, at the very least, know that they aren't alone. I have been a horrible bumpee this week. Between the holiday on Monday and work this week, add in AF with a vengeance and people being out sick, I just can't seem to catch up. Thinking of you all and sending you all love.

@mvt2003 Thank you for checking in! My RE left me a voicemail yesterday telling me that out of the 32 eggs retrieved, 19 were mature I am still waiting to hear back from the clinic for my fertilization report! Will update here as I hear from the clinic!

Thanks everyone for the kind words. I don’t know what I would do without this amazing community  DH had his surgery yesterday morning as planned. He is having some pain but is doing well! He will be going for his follow-up SA in 3 months so FX there is an improvement and that these next few months fly by!

@shoogapoff Sorry you have so much going on right now. Whatever you decide with your job/profession will be the right decision for you. FX the IVF is approved!

@looeeze Welcome! FX for you IUI. Your follie sizes sound fine so I don’t think it matters to much what CD you are when you trigger.

@mvt2003 Sounds like an amazing experience watching that transfer. Keeping everything crossed that little embryo is getting all snug in your ute!

@whitealbum29 Sorry you are benched right now. I hope it’s okay to share my opinion on getting an HSG (if not, then disregard this). I think it’s an important part of the diagnostic process if you think you could be looking at doing IUI or IVF. If your tubes are completely blocked, IUI won’t work; if there is a blockage, you may have options besides going right to IVF. Sometimes a mild blockage can be cleared through the procedure itself. If you are thinking of going through IVF, it’s also important to have an HSG to make sure you don’t have a hydrosalpinx, which could affect implantation. And if there are no issues, then at least you know you’ve checked that off your list. Feel free to PM me if you have questions. My first HSG was abnormal so I learned a lot about tubes!

@inthewoods23 Sorry for your loss, friend  huge hugs to you. Glad that you have the therapist appointment booked and I hope you find it helpful. So glad you got so much good feedback on your IF post. Sorry about your MIL’s text. People really don’t know what to say in these situations, but it sure is aggravating. We recently came out about our IF to DH’s family and his SIL’s response was “at least if you go through IVF, you’ll get some of the money back” (referring to a tax credit.. yea, NOT helpful..) She means well, but clearly doesn’t get it.

Hi friends! I just got my fertilization report:

Out of the 32 eggs retrieved, 19 were mature, and 14 of them fertilized!

The next update from the clinic is on day 5, this Sunday. The waiting game continues!!

And I got some additional info on my fertilization results! All eggs were fertilized using ICSI; among those 5 not successfully fertilized, 4 showed no signs of fertilization and 1 fertilized abnormally (though I wonder why would abnormal fertilization occur even with ICSI? I thought the embryologist would stick one sperm inside the egg 🥚). I checked with my RE that the lab grows the embryos up to day 7, so hopefully that boost my chance!

Today's u/s went okay, biggest follies so far are all on the right side. 11x12 and 13x14 are the leads. Not large enough to trigger, they said they want them to be at least 16. They called this afternoon with the plan to have another u/s Friday to check them again, hopefully they keep growing!! 🤞🏽🤞🏽

Question for those of you that have bc on your protocol. I am on CD7 of cycle, but day 3 of breakthrough bleeding. My lining was thin on CD1 as expected since I was on bc, but now I am worried about my lining this cycle. Anyone have experience with it? I have ultrasound tomorrow, so I know I am worrying prematurely, just a nagging concern.

@ramzlau I did BCP this cycle, and literally bled for most of it - my lining was over 12 at my last monitoring before retrieval - I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Hi friends, I just need a place to b!tch for a few minutes. 

1. I'm preparing myself for my fresh transfer to not work. I feel absolutely nothing 4dp5dt, so I'm mentally kind of checking out about it. I'm feeling very Bill Belichick about it. 

2. MH told me last night he thinks next transfer he needs to do a better job managing his family's expectations. His brother is making plans for a St. Patrick's Day thing "because MVT will be pregnant, she can be your DD" and he had to tell him to stop saying stuff like that. I had to restrain myself from telling MH that it's his fault for sharing any of this information. No one in his family has ever dealt personally with IF, in their world, it literally is as simple as deciding to get pregnant, then getting pregnant that month. 

3. Progesterone is zero fun to be on. I got a visible hot flash last night on one side of my body. How does that even happen?!

I had a tough first cycle on progesterone, too. It really sucks, especially the nuclear-force hot flashes. I'm so sorry your ILs have such high expectations. That makes it so much harder knowing that they're hoping for an announcement every time they see you. That's what it's like for us now too and it's super awkward at family gatherings. Especially when they offer me alcohol and then ask in the fake whisper if I can drink right now.

@mvt2003 that is totally worth venting about, I am so sorry YH blabbed to his family. Sounds like he recognizes his mistake a little bit, at least? And YES progesterone sucks, I was up half of last night with hot flashes.

@mvt2003 my friend! I completely understand why your mind would be going to the negative and why you would be preparing yourself for it not to work. I would do the exact same thing, I am sure. BUT - and I don't want to get your hopes up or fill you with false hope, I'm just going to bring the positive back because that's what I do... I do think it's still too early to know or to tell. Most signs or symptoms don't even appear until you are at like 6 weeks. So you won't know until you know, unfortunately, so I feel like you should just keep telling yourself that it worked and keep trying to remain positive that it's going to stick. I love you, friend!

@emeraldduchess Thanks, friend. I'll continue to tell my freaking body to do its' dang job!!!! I'm sorry your ILs are such a challenge. It's really difficult when others just do not understand. 

@looeeze I think my frustration with MH is that he doesn't see that telling people was a mistake, instead he thinks he needs to do a better job about how he does it. He doesn't really see that he can't control what others do with that information, no matter how he imparts it. 

@kpearse99 Oh friend, this is part of why I you so much. Your ability to reframe things and help keep positivity alive is one of your best qualities.  Logically, I know you're right. I'm trying not to go ultra negative, but my brain is a very special place these days.

@mvt2003 I just want to echo @kpearse99, you may not feel anything prior to testing. Especially being on progesterone, you can’t trust any symptoms one way or the other anyway. I am keeping my fingers crossed for you! 🤞🏾 And so sorry your ILs have been so clueless about the whole process. Glad your H realized his mistake and is working on that.
