  • @meanjellybean that's similar to how I felt it for sure the first time! My daughter was sitting on my lap with her knees kinda pressed against my side/belly!
I also feel it pretty regularly during yoga when I go to cobra/updog after some other movement.

Yessss, I second the correct sized cuff. Also a manual read, especially if they can’t tell you when the machines have been calibrated.
  • @footdrbritt not all people are good a manual pressures though too. I’m like really you got my BP in the 1.5 seconds you deflated my cuff. Okay. That’s reassuring. But I agree, my office only does manuals and I prefer it. My work sadly doesn’t even have manual cuffs readily available. It’s irritating. (And sadly it’s probably been DECADES since some of the nurses took a manual BP)
  • @nursejenn5 totally agree, I prefer manual
as well. It’s a lost art and I wish we’d go back to it personally. Between our 10 providers we have a few manuals floating around we prefer, especially some of our more complex patients. I try and get my students to do them too instead of relying on the machine.
  • @footdrbritt @nursejenn5 thanks for the tip! i will ask them that next week when i go in. the previous time i was at the OB, the MA manually took it using my forearm and it was right around 120/80, so maybe that is the trick for me.

@mehugg hahaha thanks girl! gotta make sure i let everyone know im reading and i care!

@bluguitarhannah @rachelredhead yay for Scotland!!! i absolutely love it there. if we could move there, we would, haha. we actually conceived there for this LO, haha, so its an even more special place! Edinburgh is cool, but my favoritest place ever is Inverness and the Scottish Highlands. absolutely gorgeous and perfect and the people are so so nice. the Isle of Skye is worth a trip too!! seriously, just driving from Inverness to the Isle of Skye through the Highlands was one of my favorite things. the south eastern coast of England is gorgeous too! the White Cliffs of Dover are stunning. sorry.....i could go on for days about the UK, haha. if you ever want any tips of places to go, just send me a message!!
