Would you rather go to a private group here on TB or head over to Facebook? Or somehow do both and hope they stay active...?

I voted both because I'd go either way - not necessarily that I'd be able to keep up with two groups.  I'd prefer FB but know that it would limit who would participate for those who don't want to create/share their FB accounts.

I hope it's okay that I voted. I'm just hopping on for the first time in weeks. TBH Facebook is much easier for me to access regularly!

Are people without Facebook willing to make a fake one for the group? We had some people do that in my last bmb. 

I said both I think the bump private groups are better for getting everyone added and figuring out things like admins but Facebook is much easier to use and would be nice to move to eventually.

the thing about a fake facebook is that it is still associated with my IP address & any photos or information I post would be connected to that. I realize that is very "out there woohoo" but I work in privacy so it is to be expected lol

I'm with @chichiphin. I left FB for this reason about 1.5 years ago and don't really want to return. 😂

Facebook is definitely easier for me!  This app doesn't work much on my phone and I have to use FB anyway to keep up with family members farther away.  But either one is fine!

@Malidocious Same for me! My previous bump group moved to FB and I'm very active on there.

my take: I just don't see the need for a private TB group except that some of us would be able to reveal more information and be less vague--it's not like we have a huge amount of drive-bys that clutter things up here or any real animosity towards certain participants who we'd want to not invite? And I don't see why we can't keep this group going here on TB (we have a lot of good threads that have been helpful for me to return to) AND have a FB, too, for those of us that use it/are willing to create a new account. TB loads really slowly at my house anyway, and FB loads way better--and creating a fake/alternate FB is something those w/out that platform could do if necessary.

So are we going by majority and fb wins? Next step would be picking admins right? Also we probably need some sort of screening criteria. Like I’m fine with people who are regs but take a couple weeks off here and there but the people who just introed and posted ultrasounds no way... obviously there’s some in between where a line needs to be drawn

@varimama I was going to create a FB group today, and see if anyone wants to admin with me? I agree with not letting randoms in. I guess kinda see how it goes...

I'll have a more difficult time participating on FB since I can't be on much when I'm at work lol. But, I'm happy to go along with that if that's what the majority wants!

I think we should keep this group going as well since some of us don't have FB. If that's too much work then I totally understand!

@miss.sally I’m happy to admin with you. If other people really want to more that’s fine too or if people want to vote. I’d recommend having a total of 3 bc life gets crazy sometimes.

Totally agree we need to limit this to consistently active members. 
Much easier for me to use FB than bump, especially when LO gets here and I'm primarily on mobile, but I don't mind continuing to check in here from time to time.

So how does it work moving over to FB? How do we find this group and what not?

@mrsc918 it’ll be a secret group so one of the admins will have to friend you and then add you to the group. It’s up to you if you wish to remain “friends” after but that’s the only way I know to add people to secret groups. We’ll keep everyone updated on what to do and the rules for the group once we get it set up!

@puppylove8910 I am all for keeping this group going, too! I'm a FTM, so IDK how a fb group would work in terms of organization, but I think we can keep some of the more popular threads going here.

Also interested in how one joins the secret group once it does go up, so like others have said, LMK.

@kagesstarshroom in my Aug 2015 BMB FB group, most conversation happens in daily/weekend randoms posts.  But we are also several years into this group - I'm sure early on we still had some topical threads like birth stories etc.  We still have the occasional poll and topical thread there.  Forums work a bit better for separation of subjects but I do prefer FB for ease of keeping up with randoms.

Once the group is finished being set up/ground rules established, I will post on this thread and if you wish to be added, you can PM either myself, @mrsvp614, or @varimama as we will be the FB admins! 

I’m also all-for keeping TB group alive if we can so that nobody gets left out. I just know that Postpartum there are a lot of things that many of us wild prefer to keep more private!

@kailanae Alright, cool, that's what I figured! So we can keep threads going here as well, that is along the lines of what I was thinking--that FB would be less... organized and more randoms-ish. Which isn't a knock on facebook, but like, makes sense for a platform like that versus a message board set-up like TB has.

I mean... is it dumb to have both? I understand those users of FB prob won't come back here, but for those of us who won't be on FB, we could have a mini-private group too. lmk if I should set one up. I'd love to get to know everyone better on here (WHO IS ACTIVE)

@chichiphin I am totally on board for both. I do use FB and as @mrsvp614 mostly find it easier when LO is here and I am up at god knows what hours breastfeeding and need my phone for life lol and won't see a computer for WEEKS, but I want to stay up to date with ladies who are not able to go to FB--ESPECIALLY since we could be having babies in the next 3 weeks or so (OMG).

I am fine with both...  

kinda OT (sorry) but my only issue with TB is that I use the app and it’s rather buggy. Am I the only one who feels that way? Am I doing it wrong? It crashes on me, logs me out and sometimes I can’t open the forums until I click 10 times on a link. I have auto updates turned on with my iPhone.

@Cristin343 I have issues with the bump app too. Sometimes I have better luck using it in my browser instead, but it's still not the best.

@chichiphin we last BMB had both for a little bit. I am fine with both private and FB. I was bummed some ppl don’t have FB and want to keep up with you all that don’t.

I just don’t feel comfortable writing some stuff on a public forum, so a private bump
and/or FB would be my preference.

I guess I just don't understand moving to a private TB group if TB as a site/app is the problem? And everything is well organized here? Except, like I've said and has been said, if people wanted to share things that they wouldn't want to share publicly, but then there's the FB for that.

it would be for those of us who wouldn't go to facebook at all but want to share more - but its nbd honestly! I just saw quite a few people say they don't have a facebook and won't have one.

I still think we should do a private group for those that don't have FB @chichiphin. We're entering the final stretch and would be sad to not chat with anyone during this time.
