Baby Names!

Re: Baby Names!

  • I think we're 90% decided on Rose for baby girl, nn Rosie. I haven't been totally sure about the name since we're struggling with middle names for it and since I tend to like 2-3 syllable first names. But it's DH's top pick and I had a dream this week where baby was born and her name was Rosie, so I guess it's sticking!

I have a Lily.  Her dream is to have a little sister named Rosie.  Her baby dolls are named Rosie.  She even named one of our Pygmy goats Rosie.  It's a great name!!

  • Just like last time- now that we know the gender I’m eh about all my previously selected girl names! I have a name in mind but need to think about it more and convince DH! DD calls the baby lula (no idea why!!!) so maybe we’ll just have to go with that ahha

  • @hayhay2501 Lula was on our girl name list!

  • @hayhay2501 glad to know I'm not the only one! Now that I know it's a boy I dont know if I'm totally sold on our boy name.

  • @horsesmeetbaby both pregnancies I’ve had a girls name I’ve loved for years and then when i find out I’m actually having a girl I think ehhhh. It’s such a hard decision!

@thinkpositive2017 I kind of love it but DH wouldn’t go for it aha. I just don’t know where she heard the name!

  • We have a short list...

first names: beau, Cole, graham, drew, Blake, cam
Middle names; Benjamin, Michael, Nicholas, Jonathan
  • I wanted my son to be a JR. We would call him RJ, but when we were pregnant with DD, obvi prior to knowing the gender, I brought it up and got shut down. Now he wants to name him Richie...... Should I teach him a lesson, say no until delivery and change my mind last minute?

I like Richie Damian or Richie Dorian. I cant find many names I like that are not common in our family.

  • I have two preston james and ava Kathryn sort of stumped for 3

  • Im leaning towards cooper morgan
  • So we've gone a different direction after hearing it was a boy.  Current front runners are Conner Edmund and Jaimeson Bruce.

  • I really like the name Merritt for DD2 and DH says he “doesn’t hate it.” Lol. But whenever he goes into what he’s looking for in a name Merritt literally ticks all the boxes!!

  • We finally came up with a couple we both like! If it's a girl, we like Carolyn and Eleanor. No middle name yet lol baby steps! H swears it's a girl but we find out for sure tomorrow :)
  • Ok I think we've decided on a middle name! Elaine - after DH's late aunt (DS's middle name is after a deceased uncle). So DD's full name will be Rose Elaine. I love the family significance and I think it's cute that it sounds like "Rosie Lane".  :)

  • DS1 has started called his baby brother "baby Zachy" and I can't even... it's so sweet.  He also doesn't know the names of any letters, but he calls A "Aiya letter" and Z "Zachy letter."  (Aiya is his self-name. Alexander's a mouthful and he's not fond of Alex. We're just rolling with it.)

  • My son is Maxwell Reid. Daughter is Cora Mae(I wanted Coraline Maeve, but husband suggested Cora Mae)

We are expecting a boy. My son suggested Lewis. I really like it. Husband said maybe for middle name.
    Others on the list:
    Marshall
    Gordon
Clayton (these are our grandfather's names)

Wallace(DH grandmothers maiden name. I wouldnt want the nickname Wally, but Ace would be 😎)

    I also like:
    Clark
    Gene

But nothing has really stood out to us at this point. We didn't decide on names until the week before for Max(he was a surprise, so we had a girl name picked too), and when we were holding Cora a few minutes after she was born(we didnt use the name we chose if Max would have been a girl)
  • I am struggling on naming this third and final boy of ours!

We have Oliver Harrison & Wesley Orson. I love their names so, so much.

I’m convinced this guy will never get a name.

I really like Grady (maybe Grady Emerson), but I’m not sure I think Grady flows with the other two names great. My husband likes Connor but I just can’t get there for some reason. Other top names are Sebastian, Vincent, Henry (we’ve considered Henry for all three boys now but it is so popular here now that it detours me and I feel like if it wasn’t good enough for 1&2, how can I love it enough for 3?)

So basically, HELP!!! Any names we haven’t thought of?
    Pregnancy Ticker
  • @brose1117 I’m partial to Grady, probably because I have a Brady ☺️
  • @brose1117 what about Emerson Grady? Benjamin, Alexander, Wyatt, Mason?
  • Still struggling to name this boy! Our top three are cam, Blake and graham. Cam Benjamin, Blake Nicholas, Graham Cole. I’m not fully sold on any of them but we changed DS’s name at like 38 weeks so I know we have time.
  • Carter Matthew is our frontrunner right now.  We are liking Brendan Matthew too.
  • @chaos-and-coffee  I like Emerson, but I am not huge on unisex names, and personally know more girl Emerson’s. Also, it’s my husbands grandpas middle name, and while I am happy to honor him, I am not loving the idea of making it so front and center, especially since our first two do not have family names.

I love Benjamin, I am obsessed with Ben. But, my husband won’t get on board. I tried to convince him of Bennet as an alternative but he’s not giving in. We’ve considered Wyatt! And Alexander is on our maybe middle name list.

    Thanks for your suggestions!

  • Any other teachers on the board laughing as you read name ideas and they automatically make you think of a student you’ve taught-both good and bad scenarios 😂 it’s a fun trip down memory lane!

@brose1117 Bennet was one of our boy names if it was a boy! My husbands favorite.

@chaos-and-coffee I was all about the name graham if this were a boy. My favorite! I wanted to nickname him teddy graham as a teen of endearment!

  • @alli392 Yes, I absolutely do that. I think being a teacher makes choosing a name even more difficult!

@brose1117 We are also struggling to name boy number 3. It is a tough task!
  • Now that we know baby is a girl her name is officially decided: Mila Lorraine
I’m so excited to be able to start using her name but I love talking about baby names so also low key bummed that we’re done with that now.
  • @bluehydrangea17 so tough!! Good luck.

  • @chaos-and-coffee any progress on picking little guys name? I missed your options before, and just now am seeing them. Hopefully you guys made a decision!! 🤞🏻🤞🏻
    Pregnancy Ticker
  • @brose1117 we’ve got a top 3: Luca Benjamin, Drew Benjamin, Graham Cole!
  • @SpartanCat haha i feel semi similar with my husband. He’s iffy on Grady, and I’m not sold but it’s my favorite and until he’s offering suggestions, i assume we both like that? Honestly it plays with my head though. I hate not having a name for him!! 😩

@chaos-and-coffee those are great options. I’m curious, why not Graham Benjamin?
    Pregnancy Ticker
  • @brose1117 exactly! I'd like to get one or two personalized things for the nursery but I live in fear of changing my mind. My mom gives me suggestions literally daily so I'd like to have a firm short list so I can say "no more thanks!"
  • @brose1117 I actually like cole as a first, but a close friend has a boy with that name so I don’t want to use it - but I wanted it as an option for a middle. I don’t want a short middle and a short first, so graham is the longest of the three and we went with cole there :)
  • We still have no clue!!! I have a top choice but DH isn’t fully on board
    BabyFruit Ticker
  • What's your top choice @hayhay2501

@chaos-and-coffee what's the app you and dh are using called? Maybe it will help some others stuck too!
  • We are having a hard time deciding on a name for baby boy.  We have two names that we like, Carter and Brendan.  We have a 3d/4d ultrasound booked for next saturday and I am hoping we can decide on a name right after.
  • BabyName! You can download it and invite another person, you basically swipe left or right if you do or don’t like a name, then it’ll tell you what names you and other person like.

That sounds similar to Kinder. It was fun, but I felt like the names were sort of limited. I’m going to look into BabyName

I can’t find BabyName @chaos-and-coffee, is that what it’s called?

  • @brose1117 yes all one word. I searched baby names on the App Store and it’s the second or third one - the icon is a yellow background with an egg
