hcg levels

Hi ladies, 

I'm new on here and i was wondering about hcg levels in early pregnancy. I had blood work done at 14dpo, which came back at 308, and again at 16dop, which was 621. From everything im reading online (which has been alot) that seems high. All the charts iv'e seen say normal at this point is anything between 5 and 425. I'm way over that! Can anyone tell me what your hcg levels were at similar points and whether you were pregnant with one or two? I'm a little worried there may be more than one in there. Dh and i just moved into a much smaller house than we used to have and the idea of bringing more than one baby home from the hospital right now is terrifying! On top of the 14 and 2 year old we already have... I have about 10 days to stress about this before my first u/s so i could really use some input! Thanks!

    Your levels are not at all what I'd call high and you **can not** tell how many you are carrying based on betas.

    Agree with this. Your levels seem well within average. If you are hoping to be told about multiples based on HCG alone then that us not reasonable. You have to wait for an ultrasound for that.

    I know that you can't diagnose twins or a singelton just by hcg levels, i was just wondering if anyone that had twins could relate their own experience of what their own levels were at similar points. I'm just curious with time to kill...

    I am having twins and my betas were lower than yours.  There is really no correlation - only an US can tell.

    16dpo = 261
    18dpo = 486
    20dpo = 1,229


    D & L are here at 34 weeks 4 days by vaginal and breech delivery on 11/19/2013
    Two healthy boys weighing 4 lbs 15 ozs and 4 lbs 5 ozs.  Only 6 days in the NICU and getting bigger, stronger and cuter every day!

    Agreed.  HCGs do not indicate a multiple pregnancy.  Mine were 149 @ 14dpo - and I have twins...
    Me: 30, DH: 40 
    TTC since January 2012HSG & Bloodwork: Normal, SA: NormalDx: Unexplained Infertility 50mg Clomid + TI = BFN (three cycles)
    50mg Clomid + trigger + IUI = BFP (one cycle)
    Beta #1 (12dpo) = 49  Beta #2 (14dpo)= 149

    Expecting g/g twins Oct '13

    Thanks ladies! That's exactly the info i was looking for. I know it may seem silly to focus on the numbers, and as a medical assistant myself, i know how unreliable they can be. But i've had 3 mc's in the last 18 months so it really helps me to have some specific input about this stuff. I never had the levels checked with my first two, so i don't have anything to compare to this time around. I really appreciate your help!

    I had my 1st ultrasound 25 DPO and there was one sac and one yolk sac visible.

    Yep. At 6 weeks. I measured at 5 wks. They saw a yolk sac. So I am going back next Tuesday. Looks like just one. But maybe there are two in there!?

    With my twins my number at 17dpo was 286 this time at 16dpo it was 734. I was panicking to the max that I had 3 but just found out last week its just one  :).

    Every baby is different.
