I had my first bowl of ice cream since my aversions started at 5 weeks! It was amazing. All of a sudden I wanted it after thinking it sounded disgusting for the last 14 weeks 😊🍦

its the long long weekend I’m Canada and I’m at my in-laws our of town. Had an awesome weekend though !! Hoping this week is a bit more relaxed. I was offline more last week because we spent every evening borrowing a truck and running around purchasing/returning/ then purchasing another dining table lol. I’m pooped!
Yay @varimama ! That’s always such a good feeling.
I made pumpkin chocolate chip bread this morning except instead of chocolate chips I used cinnamon chips and omg it’s a game changer. SO dang good. I have to physically stop myself from eating way too much of it.
@varimama yay! Glad you're back to enjoying ice cream it's getting better for me, but I still find myself buying things that sound good and then not being able to eat them later. Not that I need any excuses to eat more LOL.
@chichiphin can you PM me the recipe for the meatballs and sauce?
@miss.sally that sounds amazing! I made white chocolate macadamia nut cookies this weekend, but I made the mistake of crushing up the nuts because they're so expensive and I wanted them to seem more plentiful in the dough. It made for a really weird consistency in the cookies I'm a great cook, but pretty much only bake when I'm KU, so I'm riding that learning curve
I'm playing major catch-up here today! I couldn't bump at all at work last week, since it was crazy. I'm now on my new, "normal people" schedule, and although it's day 1, it's amazing how refreshed I feel getting more then 4 hours of sleep before my shift!
@mrsvp614 that’s so great you’re back on a normal schedule! I can’t imagine being on a different schedule, unless I was like a single kid less person, then I could probably make it work but with a family it’s gotta be tough!
Me: 33 | DH: 34 Married: October, 19, 2015 EDD 2/22/17 DS1 born on 3/2/17 EDD 3/8/20 DS2 born on 3/10/20 EDD 11/24/23 (Formerly Marriedhamstermom Feb ‘17)
Y’all, I’m dying. I just sat down in the conference room for a meeting and felt the cold leather seat against the skin of my ass... because apparently my new maternity leggings ripped right at the base/back of my crotch. Now I’m sitting here waiting for a conference call to end and the dudes to leave so I can ask a female coworker to check a bag under my desk to see if she can find a sweater to tie around my waist, so I can get to the bathroom and see the damage. My maternity shirt just covers my butt, so I’m not sure how “exposed” I am. I’m also 99% sure I just have a dude a show when I refilled my water and didn’t realize a GIANT hole! Ugh!
@mrsvp614 eep! also u deserve a refund on those pants. I’d be pissed. Maternity pants should be stretchy and not rip.
@stassischroeder cannot tell u how much food DH’s coworkers got last pregnancy bc I’d buy food I wanted in the moment and then didn’t want more than a bit when I got home. They must love when I am pregnant.
I have 3 IRL friends who are pregnant with number 2 right now and all due after me and all already know the sex and they all got the opposite sex of their first, which they wanted. I am so jealous.
@mrsvp614 that’s the worst, hope you were able to get some help!
@silverhope I’m sorry, are you team green or waiting on the A/S? I waited until the A/S last time but this time couldn’t wait and did an elective one to find out. You’re probably close enough to the A/S to not make it worth it but I will say I really enjoyed not worrying about a bunch of measurements and just getting to watch the baby and listen to his heart and stuff!
Me: 33 | DH: 34 Married: October, 19, 2015 EDD 2/22/17 DS1 born on 3/2/17 EDD 3/8/20 DS2 born on 3/10/20 EDD 11/24/23 (Formerly Marriedhamstermom Feb ‘17)
Update! My rescue sweater is enough to get me by. The hole isn't as big as it felt, but it's still at least 2 inches, right on the seam at the bottom/back of my ass/crotch. I'll be calling Old Navy for a refund! As long as the hole doesn't rip to the front of the crotch in the next 1.5 hours, I should be okay. Ha!
@mrsvp614 Whew! I was hoping this was resolved. 💗 I bet that was stressful!
AFM: I just broke down and cried for a while bc my heartburn is so bad. DH brought me some tissues, and then I had to run to the bathroom bc I almost vomited. I am in the middle of making dinner for the first time in a long time and idk if i’ll be able to finish. I found a heartburn/reflux friendly recipe and bought all the ingredients today to make it happen. I am so tired of feeling like such terrible garbage. I am starting on Prilosec in the morning and hoping that gets me some relief tomorrow.
@mrsvp614 omg I’m glad you found a sweater! Embarrassing. I’ve totally been there.
afm, I almost started crying when I realized I wasted 20 minutes of one of my classes working on a song we’re not even going to sing. It’s not the worst thing in the world but I’m frustrated with myself for wasting time. I seriously hate time waste. Also we’re working on Christmas music and I’m really not a Christmas person (I’m jewish) and the whole thing is kind of a drag.
@varimama ha I am the reverse: since I waited for the anatomy scan last time to find out the sex, I figured I could hold out this time. But it is irking me all my friends know and they are weeks behind me. But I’ll know soon enough. Also 99% sure I saw a penis at the NT scan, so I’m already resigned to the fact that I am a #boymom.
@kagesstarshroom I also have really bad heartburn, even when I’m not pregnant. It’s acid reflux and I usually take an OTC called Zegerid, however I learned with my first pregnancy that it is a class C drug so I had to stop. I went one day without it and thought I would die. The next day I switched to an OTC called Prevacid. It’s fine to take while pregnant and is really effective. So if Prilosec won’t work, consider giving Prevacid a shot.
DD has a fever this morning. thankfully, grandparents are helping out so I don’t have to take a full day off work (taking the afternoon) and I can leave her home while I go to my doctor appointment. Ugh. Not sure what we will do if she’s still sick tomorrow.
@MrsVP614
Yay for a normal schedule. I bet you DO feel amazing! Also WTF maternity
leggings!
@silverhope
Do you not know the sex yet? For some reason I thought you did! That’s fun, but
I hope you get what you want!
@kagesstarshroom
I am SO sorry you are suffering with heartburn this early. That relaxin etc.
must be taking you for a ride. I hate it so much and I hate it for you.
@kantobean
I hope DD Is okay. I hate those random fevers.
I think my toddler is getting my 9yo’s cough. He’s screaming bloody murder for zero reason. I’m trying to get him down for nap and it’s horrific. I feel bad for him but also insomnia kept me awake until 3 and he was up at 5 so I’m banking on this nap for BOTH of our days to improve.
@EmilyLove25 thank you! I think DD is fine. She’s acting totally normal, just a little lethargic. I’m selfishly worried about me, because the midwife said if I get a fever over 100.4 I need to go to the ER. And I do not want to.
well, had my anatomy scan yesterday, and it was kind of a let-down.. I was so looking forward to it, too. LO was all curled up in a ball, so the tech wasn't able to get any good profile pics or pics of the face, and we couldn't see much.... but, she was able to confirm the Harmony test was correct, it is a girl, and everything else she could see looked to be healthy. so I was glad about that at least, but will have to have another scan to get more measurements. I have to say, knowing the gender already going in made it a little less exciting. DS was so active and charming at his scan (sucking his thumb, doing flips, ect) so I was a little disappointed that this LO didn't want to move or give us any 'memorable' moments. lol. not to mention I had another little twinge of gender disappointment (was hoping for another boy)...
but later on yesterday during my walk, I saw a little boy (about 4 years older than his little sis, just like my DS will be) and he patted his little sister's head and held her hand. my heart just melted and the gender disappointment went away again.
Lol @stassischroeder those were the good days. I was part of TB back in 2009 before a lot of snark, and then again from 14-16 until the mass exodus. I actually felt a little guilty coming back this time 😂
@chichiphin I thought the same thing! We got one from my cousin last weekend and I was surprised the baby was that low. It’s such a great sound to hear though!
@silverhope it was a legit mess. A lot of it had to do with the way the loss/infertility community was being treated. Soooo many of the regs got really upset and offended with the way things were changing and the way the mods were handling it. It was really unfortunate. Thankfully a lot of us loss moms moved to the same place. But then that one blew up eventually also. We made a FB group that most of the really regular ones joined to keep in touch.
@chichiphin glad you found the HB! DD's heartbeat was lower than I expected, too. I feel like its higher up whenever my OB or PA finds it in the office, but maybe their dopplers are just more sensitive so they catch the heartbeat from further away? Not sure if that even makes sense lol.
lol @stassischroeder i know what you mean. it's just weird bc I def have a belly now but she ain't in it apparently... so maybe I'm "fat" per one of our drive-bys...
@chichiphin LOL. Our internal organs have to go somewhere! I always joke with DH when he touches my belly that he's lovingly caressing my intestines because the baby is still really low.
I've been pretty absent on the boards the last two weeks because life has been so hectic, but I hope it's slowing down finally? I miss you guys! And now I'm STARVING after reading through these posts, lol!!
@varimama Mmmm ice cream sounds so good right now!
@miss.sally Omg pumpkin cinnamon muffins sound HEAVENLY. I made banana bread over the weekend and ate all of it myself....
@chichiphin Yum, pasta! I've been having pretty intense aversions to meat (especially red meat) but meatballs sound so good. Also yay for the doppler! Aren't they the best?! I am surprised every time I use mine at how low (near my pelvis) the heartbeat is because I agree with @stassischroeder that I feel like at the doctor's and at the ER, they were able to find it right near my bellybutton with relative ease. Maybe their Dopplers are more sensitive.
@stassischroeder That is me, too! I keep buying things that sound delightful at the time, but then I don't really want them anymore when I get home. It's annoying, lol. I bet those macadamia nut cookies were still pretty tasty, despite the weird consistency! Baking has a bit more leeway than cooking, so that's always good!
@mrsvp614 I'm playing catch up now! The Bump doesn't always work on my phone, and I've been soooo busy at work. I feel so out of the loop! Also LOL about you giving the guy a show with your ripped leggings. What a hassle, but that's funny. I walked around the entire grocery store over the weekend, feeling like it was colder than it should be in there, only to realize when I was in my car that I had tucked my dress into my leggings and had no coverage while I was shopping. No one said anything to me!!!! Yay for your rescue sweater, though!!
@silverhope I know a handful of pregnant ladies who have all found out the gender of their babies before me, too. I mean, I feel like I probably am having a girl based on my elective ultrasound a few weeks ago, but the fact that my Sneak Peek blood work said BOY and then the ultrasound tech "wasn't totally sure" about a girl has me reeling! I just want to know, lol. I have my anatomy scan a week from Friday so hopefully baby will cooperate a bit more... although if history is any indication, this baby does not want me to know what gender it is.
@kagesstarshroom I'm so sorry your heartburn is so bad that it made you cry I am having intense heartburn today out of nowhere. Dislike!!
@kantobean Awe, I hate wasting time, too. :-\ But 20 minutes isn't too bad in the scheme of things. Also I'm sorry your daughter is sick. That's never fun! Hopefully she feels better soon and you don't catch it! I can speak from experience that going to the ER is NOT FUN!!!
@treetop19 I'm sorry your little one didn't cooperate during the anatomy scan. What a let down! But at least everything is looking healthy and good in there!
