@inthewoods23 I’ve read that it’s easier to find an issue in men, but harder to treat, which kind of combines the two. But it’s funny that it makes the podcast guy and your OB have different approaches based on the same facts.

@inthewoods23 I have a physical with my PA next month and I'm planning to ask thoughts on when she thinks we should resume testing. I'm on month 9 now. We dont have any REs in my area, so I previously did all my testing and HSG with my OB. H also saw a urologist, but he never moved forward with the second SA or ultrasound recommended by the urologist. Since our problem is MFI I cant really do anything until H gets on board, but I'm hoping I can say "OB says you should do another SA ASAP, here's your cup" next week. 

I've always heard to test both at the same time. Since you wouldn't want to treat the woman when the man is also an issue.

@inthewoods23 It sounds like that podcast Doctor is trying to drum up business for himself. On TB it says that 92% of couples will conceive within the first 12 months. My RE said that it is easier/less invasive to test the man first, but just because there may be something amiss with his tests does not mean you shouldn't test the woman. They may both have abnormalities requiring treatment/courses of action.

@meri-mac that makes sense since all a guy has to do is jerk off and then the doctors take that and test it vs shoving catheters up our hoohas.

TCOYF said 6 months IF you were temping (and maybe using OPKs too).  She said that because there are a lot of couples who don't conceive within a year and seek help, and then find out that they aren't ovulating regularly or they assumed the 28 day cycle thing and so were DTD at the wrong time.  SO, if you are temping and KNOW when/if you ovulate AND are DTD at the 'correct' time to hit O, and haven't gotten KU after 6 months of hitting the FW, then you could seek help.

@millpe There are definitely some tests my RE said they wanted done in the same cycle between the both of us. I’m all for going to an RE early if you have a real reason to suspect an issue.

@NYTino24 I had them play a game that involved them moving around a lot but they were still climbing the wall.

@whatsbumpinpumpkin ya it is a very emotional show indeed. I spend a lot of time crying in episodes lol. But it’s such a good show I can’t stop watching all the seasons. I have never seen i zombie but I like stuff like that. Is it good?

@mindyb2019 yup, I’ve seen all seasons so far. Season 3 just started, so there are only a few episodes available for that right now! You should be all caught up!  A Million Little Things is on ABC, but we watch it on HULU after it’s aired live (we don’t have live tv anymore)... This Is Us is also an ABC show and we watch that on HUlU as well, the day after it airs on live tv.

I share regularly on my social media about our struggles, mostly to educate and spread awareness. Today I got messages about how I should try Metformin because it worked for someone on her first cycle after her OB gave it to her even though she didn’t have diabetes, and Shakeology from another woman because

*TW* she’s pregnant and sick and can’t use them now anyway.
