  • @keikilove I've never been the best or biggest fan of running, especially on a treadmill but this past year I really got into it and have found it's such a great release! I haven't done it in a little bit though, work schedules and travel all summer did not help, but it felt good to get back on yesterday even if it was only for a walk and jog pace. I did really have to fight the urge to full out run, because at one point I really want to! But I kept it at bay.  I read a lot about not wanting your body to get over heated, so I've been hesitant go full out. I'm happy I stuck with what I did yesterday and to keep up with 5 lb weights.  I am still very worried with how hot/over heated I get while sleeping though.... but that's a whole other thing!

I need to put bigger chunks of chicken in mine next time. What type noodles do you use? I have been trying to find some like that.

@inthewoods23 That soup looks amazing! Thanks for sharing the recipe👍🏽
  • @mindyb2019 No they're also dried noodles. I can find them at any grocery store. Not sure if it's as easy up in Canada where you are. Also Penzeys is a spice store which might only exist here in the States too. Their soup base is basically the equivalent of bouillon cubes.

  • @inthewoods23 hmm ok good to know. Now I’m going to have to hunt all the stores down in Canada asking for Kluski noodles haha 😆 my new mission to keep me preoccupied lol. Bouillon cubes are good. Thanks for that info.
  • @mindyb2019 This is the specific brand I use, but really any brand will do as long as they're kluski egg noodles

  • @mindyb2019 unfortunately no, I don't use these noodles for anything but this soup. I use the whole bag when I make it. The full recipe gets made in my 8qt pot so it's A LOT.

  • @inthewoods23 Is he saying that 90% of couples that would conceive within the 12 months get KU in 4-6?

Anecdotally I know several friends/acquaintances that fell between the 6-12 month range. I think that’s a little bananas for him to say. Sure, I’d love to get KU quicker but impatience isn’t a reason to seek help. I’m annoyed with you, @inthewoods23

    dpchickenskrystrist2014brookert615
  • @millpe yeah it was something like 90% get KU in 4-6 months and then another 5% will conceive in the 6-12 months.

  • @inthewoods23 But don't they say IF affects 1 in 8? Which would be like 12%. I'm confused on the math if he is saying 95% of couples get KU in 12 months. Although I would tend to believe the point that the majority would get KU by the 6 month mark. I wonder if the medical community as a whole will eventually change the recommendation.

I can't  find my TCOYF right now, but wasnt the recommendation to see a dr also closer to 6 months there?

  • @millpe @inthewoods23 yeah, TCOYF says 6 months (especially if you're under 35) which is backwards from the recommendation you always see because her reasoning was it should be easier to get KU if you're younger. Personally my OB wouldn't consider testing until the year mark, though.

I also can't find my TCOYF but I'm pretty sure hid it from myself. I was annoyed that she seemed to imply that so many cases of IF are just due to bad timing (aka not understanding your cycle). Which might be true, but also not helpful to me.
    begging4abumpdpchickensNYTino24krystrist2014
  • @jennifer_louise interestingly, the guy said you have the same chances of getting KU from the ages of 25 to 38. Even though I've also read fertility starts to decrease around age 35 🤷‍♀️

@millpe yeah idk. My OB was nice enough to start a few tests when I was at the 10 month mark and had gone in for my yearly exam. I did 2 months of checking for ovulation (which at times I think was actually only 3dpo but progesterone was up so it proved I ovulated). I did my HSG with the OB as well and once DH finally did the SA we went to a urologist (they thought he didn't get the full sample in the cup) and then got the recommendation to see the RE. I didn't see her until month 14. I do think it would make sense to do the simpler tests like checking progesterone after month 6 since that doesn't interfere with trying naturally.

OH and I think it was also mentioned on the podcast that they looked at the guy first because it's easier to determine that they're the issue?? This is the opposite of what my OB said. He said they look at the woman first because that's easier to treat compared to when men are the issue. This podcast seems so backwards!
