I have my first ultrasound today. I am so nervous. Since I waited longer this time to get my first ultrasound there shouldn’t be any question on hb and or limbo, but I am still so nervous. I know we have several other sonos today too. Good luck!
Ugh, I did not want to come back to work today. On top of pregnancy insomnia and my kid sleeping in our bed last night, I’m absolutely exhausted. And, I’m starving. It’s only 8am and I’m already planning what I’m going to have for lunch...
I feel like a disappointment to my kids because I had so many plans for this summer to explore our new town and I have literally only taken them to the splash pad by our house..............I just am so tired and overwhelmed with everything so I am a fuddy duddy.
@leksiL That was me my first pregnancy. My doctor doesn't like to do ultrasounds unless needed. So I only had the anatomy scan and that was it. I was surprised and excited this time around when they mentioned I would be getting an ultrasound at my first appointment.
@sassypants2010 I can relate. I am doing a good job powering through and committing to play dates, but I feel awful that I might be ruining their summer. In reality, we aren’t. They probably still really love all that we are doing, but I know it sucks feeling like shit while you are suppose to be having fun.
@DDRRT1982 We will get through this! My oldest just guilt tripped me because we haven't gone swimming yet this summer and that was all we did last summer. But we just moved so I have no idea where the pool even is and if it is toddler accessable(shallow swim area).
I just need this off my chest!
The girl who was my Matron of honor in my wedding is dead set that she gets to be a godmother for my kids. And after she trumped her way through my wedding I realized the friendship is way more one sided than she realizes (I'll skip the long backstory, just know most people who have met her have serious issues with her). But neither my husband or I want her around the baby. Thankfully she lives a few states away I do feel for her because she and her husband have been TTC for 10 years with about 8 mcs in that time. She has lots of siblings in law and many have gotten pregnant within the first couple months of marriage and she comes to me angry and hurt that they conceived so easily. I just don't really want to tell her I'm expecting but my husband says I should be the bigger person and at least tell her before we share with the public.
Is there anybody you aren't excited to share the baby news with?
@babyroma Yikes! That sounds like a really tricky situation. I definitely agree with your husband about telling her as soon as you’re ready to go public. How do you think you’ll handle the godmother question?
@babyroma as someone who has been on the infertile side of the equation, I recommend texting her the news. Let her know that you wanted to tell her before other people but you also know that while you know she is happy for you, it probably is a bit hard for her to hear which is why you wanted to text the info so she can have some time to process.

I get that. But fertility isn’t a zero sum game. You getting pregnant doesn’t take away from her ability to hopefully one day get pregnant and deep down she knows that
@babyroma I agree with PP that I would text a week or so before you go public. How long have you been married? I wouldn’t offer up how long you were TTC unless she flat out asks. As for the godmother thing, if she asks, I would tell her that in the event of your deaths you would want as little change as possible for your baby and with her being out of state you have chosen a family member that lives close by. Or, say you haven’t made anything official yet... I’m just realizing we haven’t made anything official and my oldest will be 4 this fall 😬
I am very much not looking forward to telling my older sister. This will be my third baby and she has made it very clear that I should stop at two. She has two children and thinks it’s the perfect number. I also dealt with some PPD after each birth and so I know she will be worried about that as well. This is a surprise baby, although we were considering having a third so we weren’t being very careful.... is it awful if I sort of lie to my sister and tell her it was a surprise and just leave it at that?

Don’t forget it’s dress like a cow for free Chick-fil-A day. This will be my kids activity for the day because I am cheap and lazy, but they are going to love it. You don’t have to go all out. Just put some spots on or wear anything that looks like cow spots.
So last night I made “taco pie” which is basically crescent rolls with retried beans, sour cream ground turkey salsa and cheese. Basically a seven layer dip in a crescent roll. Not sure I can even count it as dinner but it was good! Any thoughts on whether I can microwave leftovers considering the sour cream? Hmmmm

We've only been married for 2 months. She did know beforehand we wanted to start trying for kids asap. I told my husband that I would be extremely surprised if we got pregnant in the first month of trying to conceive. I guess god has a nice sense of humor!
Unfortunately the out of state thing applies to all of our family too. My family is closest and they're still 5 hours away. We'll probably just go with the unofficial thing.

I'm having such a hard time focusing on work this week. I just want it to be Friday so I can go to my first appointment and see the baby!!! Then I can start spilling the beans! I promised my husband we could call his parents first on Saturday morning. This will be their first grandbaby and hubs is excited and kind of nervous to tell them. My parents already have 4 grandbabies from my brother so that's why they're getting told second. I know they'll still be excited though because this baby will be closer than the others (parents in ohio, us in Chicago, brother in phoenix!) Sorry for the ramble....its that lack of focus thing haha.

Yeah i have my first appointment wednesday and next Friday will be 12 weeks. No mention of an us, and its the same dr as my son. I only had an anatomy scan with him, and a scan for his heart with a specialist because my daughter was born with a congenital heart defect. So im just a little bit jealous of all the mamas on here getting weekly updates lol.

I'm 8 weeks tomorrow and made my appointment like 4 weeks ago hoping they would see me sooner. 😣 I've been dying keeping this under wraps until the first ultrasound. My first appointment is friday though. I perused the medical groups website to see what to expect with this being my 1st pregnancy and found a list of anticipated appointments and purposes. I'll have a dating ultrasound friday and the only other is the Anatomy scan.
@robynlynn2000 my first appointment is that until 12-13 weeks either (I’m out of province so couldn’t get in until then) but won’t have my first ultrasound until the anatomy scan at 20 weeks either! Same as my first two! I wish I could have an earlier ultrasound but this is what my doctor seems to do!
Guys, I just royally f’d up my SneakPeek test. I almost had the vile full of blood when I dropped it on the floor! So I contaminated it. In a house where I have two male humans and three male animals. So if my results come back as “boy” I’m going to be very skeptical. I’m so mad at myself!!
@daffodil_shoe Tell me more about this SneakPeek test? You're doing a blood test at home?! I assume you're in the medical field (sorry if I missed that somewhere)....I need more details!!

@Pgh_Kel anyone can do it, just look up SneakPeek. But I am a Surg Tech so I do, in fact, know how to collect blood samples and practice sterile technique.
