@galentine Ugh sickness when pregnant is 💯 worse so I can see why you’d be hesitant to go! However if the only thing symptom wise left is a cough, I’d probably go. Coughs with kids can linger FOR-EV-ER.
One of you lovely ladies was asking about adding spinach to a smoothie... just saw this on my IG story!! It’s kale which is kinda like spinach. Anyway, hope it’s delicious. The person posting it says it is.
I always try to add kale or spinach. It does effect the flavor a bit (and it turns green or brown!) but it's usually not enough to take away from my enjoyment. Now I want one....
We always have kale in the freezer for this exact purpose. I love my green smoothies, and used them regularly for meals in 3rd tri when my stomach capacity was so tiny.
@prpl11butterfly Yes, or at least, yes for smoothies. Not totally sure how it would thaw out for a salad. We usually buy giant bags of chopped kale from Costco and throw it straight into the freezer. We don't thaw it for the smoothies, just toss it in with the rest of the ingredients.
@galentine I would ultimately go, but would definitely have the same hesitations as you! I just echo what the others said about taking whatever precautions you can, although with colds sometimes it seems there is no precaution that actually works. And I agree-- coughs can last for weeks on end even when everything else is gone!
My gosh I'm dying today at work. I don't know why I'm so tired this week but I don't think I'm sleeping very well, so I guess that's it. I also had to wait until like 2 pm to eat lunch today, and I was so hungry I was about to eat my own arm! Now after I stuffed my face, I'm so sleepy. The post lunch coma is so real.
I had a work event today, and the lunch they provided was so delicious. Dessert was this amazingly light vanilla cake with a lemon filling and raspberry drizzle. The cake was HUGE, and all the (female) coworkers I sat with were lamenting how it was too big, and there was no way they could finish it, yadda yadda yadda. Meanwhile, I ate every single bite and practically licked my plate clean. #worthit
@galentine I'm with the other STM+ ... coughs linger forever. Maybe just steer clear of kisses and hand holding with the littles.
@marbellie Cute, cute, cute! So fun that you could turn it into a little personal reveal party for you and DH.
@ineedsixeggs Congratulations! And I love the "it's not a girl" clue. Clever.
Ladies! My promotion went through, effective immediately! Sooooo excited and happy and feeling silly for waiting so long to tell my baby news given how much of a done deal this seems to have been in my boss's mind.
I would go, with DS I was sick from the week we discovered I was pregnant. Got both strains of flu that year and hospitalized with a 104 fever for a night. With DD I was never sick, not even a common cold barely. So far, knock on wood, no sickness here this time. But no matter what you do, you'll end up sick while pregnant, our systems are just down alot right now. Just wash your hands and make sure the kiddos wipe their noses and wash their hands alot too!
I used to make this amazing smoothie with kale, pineapple, peaches that I would freeze together. Then i’d Fridge thaw overnight and in morning throw in blender/bullet with almond milk, protein powder and flax seeds.
Also I’ve reached that point in my pregnancy where sounds are super ANNOYING, case and point DS allergies are kicking his butt and he has really bad sniffles. The sound of that sniffling constantly is driving me insane!
@jenferlee82, was it you who said recently you've been on your best behavior? I think we know each other well enough, now. Let that snark flag fly.
I am quickly losing my patience in a few areas, namely the sex thread 😬
I finally caught up. Your response was perfection and I lovetitted accordingly. I’m traveling for work this week and the app hates me so struggling to keep up. But I’m with ya - time to unleash the snark when we feel it!!
@nachellebeck13 thank you! 4 hours later and still multiple touchdowns all around us and sirens still going off. At this point we are just sleeping in our shelter lol. I don’t know if I have seen a storm this bad in years.

Yikes! I hope it passes soon and everyone stays safe!
I ended up joining the fam tonight to see my uncle, and I think it was the right call! Visiting with my uncle was great, and the kiddos didn't seem sick at all. I'm so glad I went!
Thanks everyone! We ended up being able to go to bed around 10 or so. The kids will be tired. Unfortunately around 50 houses damaged or destroyed in a neighborhood on the same highway exit as ours.
@galentine that cake sounds absolutely devine!! I'd be the one joining you on eating ALL of it.
Had quite the morning with DD this morning, so I'm thankful I'm at work today, is that a bad thing to say? It was just one of those mornings where everything was a battle, we were running late, and nothing seemed to go quite right. She did, however, discover an Elmo "rap" ABCs that we've been listening to on repeat that is now in my head permanently, good thing its pretty cute!

This is my daughter every other day lol and not a bad thing to say I was in your boat last week. I'm really not looking forward to the mornings where I need to get both kids ready.
@Cass005 omg, I am SO scared of the days of getting two ready!!! And we most likely will have two separate drop offs, which scares me as well. Life will never be easy again... at least not for another 15 years or so
@SLou24 Not a bad thing to say at all! I’ve had weekends when by Sunday evening I say to myself “I’m so glad I’m going to work tomorrow.” This stuff is hard.
I’m also really worried about getting 2 kids out the door. Lately our morning schedule has gone off the rails because DD turns everything into a long, drawn out game. It’s cute and fun but hard to make it to work on time. Add to that a baby who decides to poop or spit up just as we’re heading out the door...

Not bad at all. Mornings are THE WORST! I’ve started to feel like the reason I know I can handle three kids is bc I go to work and they go to daycare. If I stayed home I’d probably have said to DH “We. Are. Done.” (No judgement at all to those who stay home, in fact I respect that you can do it. Wish I had it in me. But I definitely don’t.)
@junebabyh Yes. To all of this. I stayed home with DD for just under 2.5 years, and I absolutely loved it, BUT went back to work because I'm almost 100% certain I am not meant to be at home with 2. I think I would go crazy. Being home at 1 was easy for me, being home with a toddler and an infant I'm sure would drive me to my breaking point!
@junebabyh Congrats on the promotion! 🎉 @marbellie Sorry about no longer being team green, but it sounds like everything worked out. @quidditchcapn1120 I’m glad that you and your family are safe, but sorry to hear about the damage. @galentine I’m glad that you got to see your uncle and that the kiddos didn’t seem sick. Also, can I have some of that cake, please?

I wasn’t feeling well when I woke up through the night so I got on The Bump to try to distract myself. It said baby is as big as a newborn hat and I was thinking...hats aren’t born? Does that say bats? And then I realized what it meant and made myself go back to sleep
@melanier26 LOL, that's amazing. Yes, I was having a hard time sleeping because I was achy and uncomfortable, but also really hungry. I decided to eat yogurt (after the handful of almonds I ate at 4:00 AM did nothing), but I also wanted to take a bath. Hence, bathtub yogurt party.

Exactly, were lucky that we will have the same drop off time but only for 8 months because

@SLou24 UGH, we are fighting the same battle here. I am so nervous about getting to work on time with two, as I am already late too often with just DS! Maybe when our S16'ers are older next year it won't be so bad? (Wishful thinking at its finest...)
Has anyone else noticed weight/size gain in.... unexpected places? I tried to put on a pair of non-maternity jeans last night that I've been wearing with absolutely no issue so far (other than I've had to use the hair tie trick to make room for my belly). But the jeans would not go on over my butt. 😬 I am already blessed with a major J-Lo booty and really don't need any more assistance back there! 🙈
