@galentine Both pregnancies my hips got wider pretty early on - by end of first tri I couldn’t pull on normal pants any more. My rib cage gets bigger too. For me, both of these changes were/are from ligaments (or something?) allowing my bones to stretch out, rather than only weight gain. Last time I eventually went back to my original size. Pregnancy is weird!
@Cass005 omg, I am SO scared of the days of getting two ready!!! And we most likely will have two separate drop offs, which scares me as well. Life will never be easy again... at least not for another 15 years or so
It’s really not that bad. You’ll find your groove and schedule. Promise
@galentine yup. Both places of assets have, er, grown
I love the way you worded this! 😂 My other, ahem, assets have grown significantly, too. It's just that I expected that!! I did not expect more junk in my already overflowing trunk.
I'm on the big booty train too. My genetics are sooooo stacked against me. Women in my grams family have wide hips and shelves for behinds. I love it when I'm not preg but when I am....
@prpl11butterfly, same! I actually enjoy my J-Lo assets normally, or at least I did in college when it got single Galentine a lot of attention. 😉 But right now it's getting ridiculous.
I am a part time at home mom, I work weekends only and have 4 days off through the week. We start up tennis lessons 3 days a week in the morning in June and little baseball stars one night a week in May. I'm dreading having a new routine again cause for months we just get up and do stuff around the house. Thankfully both my littles can walk to my car (always parked in the driveway so back door makes that easy) and my son can climb into his seat and get the straps around him. Hoping we can get a sienna cause that will be even easier for him to climb in(he climbs in my mom's minivan really well) and DD can climb into that easier too! Getting out the door on time is rough for just me, let alone with 3 sets of little feet with me 😳
I think I'm feeling the baby move (FTM, 17+3)! It kind of feels like internal tickles that aren't ticklish (if that at all makes sense). I have an anterior placenta, so I'm not completely convinced, but it's been in the same location as the baby for 2 days and I really feel it when my legs are elevated and/or I'm drinking coffee.
@galentine So glad you had a great visit with your uncle! Also, my backside has been expanding as well. I haven't gained much actual weight - four lbs so far at week 17 - but I'm pretty sure 99% of what I have gained has gone to my ass! Sigh. @melanier26 I legit LOL'd at the newborn hat thing. Makes me think we should start a pregnancy brain thread! @elle-0409 Bathtub yogurt sounds amazing. I'm getting the late night/early morning cravings too - they are impossible to ignore! @marbellie Yay on movement!! So exciting.
I. Am. Exhausted. We are holding our triannual leadership offsite this week, which means strategy sessions from 8-5, then team building activities and dinners from 5-whenever. My new bedtime with pregnancy has been 9, maybe 9:30 and this will now be the third night in a row where I likely be up until 11 or later. Wish me luck as I head to the next "fun" activity and watch all of my colleagues get drunk (eyeroll)!
@emily1052 Yep! But tonight is the last night of activities, thank goodness. Tomorrow night we get to do our own thing, so I'll be asleep by 7pm I'm sure. LOL
Pregsomnia has had me up for the past two hours reading pregnancy and labor stories - the good, the bad, and the ugly - and now my brain is filled with a giant, adorable nope.
Had SO lug my maternity clothes up from the basement last night and am wearing one of my jeans to work today. It's sooooo much more comfortable than my regular pants, but they keep sliding down because full panel. Eh.

Ugh so frustrating but I did the exact same thing last night with A/S stories because I apparently like going to bed scared....I need help
I have my scan later today, and I’m just ready to get this one over with because I suspect the tech is going to give me a hassle like last time when I refuse to let them use the T/V probe 😪

I look at it this way, you know what can go wrong and mentally prepare
I’ve seen it all on my time on the boards, unfortunately, including some things that can happen after baby is here.
@cmbt2 they still would prefer to us the T/V probe? I'm surprised because being so far along why wouldn't abdominal be more than sufficient?
In any case, best of luck with the scan!!
They absolutely do not need to- they claim it’s to get cervical length and placenta location, but a tech that knows what they are doing can do it all abdominally. The tech wanted to do the T/V first last time, and have the whole scan done with me undressed, and didn’t like that I objected to the whole T/V portion in general.
Having been through this before, I learned that a T/V isn’t needed after 10/12w max* and that a full bladder is not needed past the NT scan.
*unless there is preterm labor in a prior pregnancy- then they do it to see if you’ve dilated at all.
@cmbt2 well good luck, I have no idea what that is, Ive never heard of it. Hopefully they respect your wishes and don't. @grapeskittles4lyfe my lipstashe has been growing like crazy! And my eyebrows are getting bushier....ugh. every pregnancy, my body hair has grown ridiculously fast and my head hair falls out, which is fine cause I have super thick, frizzy, curly hair(1/4 black and my mom has crazy curly hair too, so I got curls from both sides) so it's like a natural thinner. But I wish the rest of my hair would follow suit and slow down!! For everyone reading the horror stories and the good ones, it's honestly very unpredictable. Like @cmbt2 said, you'll be mentally preparing yourself for just about anything. Both my labors were 2 whole days of inductions but they couldn't have been any more different if I had planned it. I worked in a library while pregnant with DS. So I had all the computer resources, a whole 3 sections of anything from breastfeeding to labor to after labor and 3 older ladies that all had at least one child. Between those three I had enough terror from them alone, they were still pretty helpful though. But I still read and researched a lot. Had a huge birth plan for my doctor and she helped me stick to it as best I could. I got an epidural right away with DS, DD I held out til about 2 hours before she came, this one I'd like to try to go with out because I had severe complications with her epidural. It's all a learning process. Just know, as soon as you hold your baby, you pretty much forget the pain of however many hours before they were here. I e heard that from many people and it was that way for me. Second I was holding them, it was gone💕
Saturday is our last home visit/requirement for our foster care license and I am so glad to have my Monday evenings and weekends back from visits and classes from the state! This weekend is the visit where they talk to our kids though. Any bets what my super moody 8 year old is going to say? Haha
@galentine YUP. Full on JLo Booty here as well, which I normally love, but my hips/booty have definitely already grown (and did last time as well). But I was able to fit back into my pre-preg jeans fairly soon last time, so I'm hoping with some dedication I can do it again!
@galentine yup. Both places of assets have, er, grown
Same. And it happened over a week. I was fitting into my pre-pregnancy size then all of a sudden I had to size up. I gain my weight in my thighs, boobs, and face. Good times. :P

My ribs and hips expanded and then settled in that size. I grew a bra band size and now I can never remember what it is.

@cmbt2 ugh that makes me angry for you. That’s all able to be done abdominal, good for you standing up for yourself
It really left a bad taste in my mouth last time, to be honest. This time, the tech at least acknowledged the fact that I have the right to refuse the T/V scan and planned on doing it after the abdominal portion (but she said nothing until *i* brought it up? Strange. You’d think they’d at least tell you it’s coming). My MFM said nothing of it because she could get what she needed abdominally. She just had to actually look for it 🤦🏼♀️
I wanted chicken fried rice. I made everything but the actual chicken because the smell makes me gag. DH just had to do the chicken. He put so much pepper that it’s not edible. I’m so sad 😭

Mmmmm.... chicken fried rice sounds SO good!! Sorry your DH over-peppered. 😢

H saw me for the first time in a couple weeks without a shirt on. In mid sentence, he stops and goes “excuse me, but MY GOD!”
i couldnt stop laughing. This happens every time, but he acts like he’s never seen it before 😂
