@andromedacorrine2 Any kind of pelvic floor exercises should help. Kegels, bridges, squats. But it might be good to see a pelvic floor PT to make sure you're targeting the right muscle.

PSA: Pee issues during pregnancy and after kids are very common, but not something to accept as normal. See your Women's Health/Pelvic Floor PT!

  • @Cass005 Thank you ❤️
@andromedacorrine2 I normally LOVE regular Lay’s but never buy them bc I’ll crush a whole bag in one go 😆 I had them at my parents house last weekend though and they tasted way too salty. It made me sad
  • @andromedacorrine2 My doc had me use vagina weights. Yes its a thing and you can get them off amazon. They helped me after I had my daughter.
  • @obsessedwithoranges I feel you on not knowing when to tell. I’m still only outnto a small handful of folks. It’s okay to wait until you’re ready ❤️ Also with my first pregnancy, my first time throwing up was in the middle of downtown, in the morning, as a buses full of early morning commuters were stopped at a red light, lined up perfectly to see me puke in a public trash can. Public puking is so glorious 🙄🤣 hang in there!

Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 15 weeks today

    FTM/STM/TTM+: stm

Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: team gender creative parenting
(side note: I know I’ve written this before but if anyone was wondering what it actually means, we don’t let genitalia dictate how we parent. Only parents +probably nana will know because of diaper changes, but we believe the research that suggests gender doesn’t form until abut 3-5 years of age, and we'll be using they/them pronouns until kiddo lets us know their preferences)

Upcoming Appointments: I don’t think anymore until the 20 week appt

How are you feeling? (Cravings/Symptoms): feeling so much better since the 2nd tri started! Even my mental heath has been really balanced. Last night I could feel the pop pops of early movement which was pretty magical. RLP and the bloated constipation, however, are decidedly less magical.

Rants/Raves:  not so much a rant or a race, but our toddler is totally on to us! Yesterday they straight up asked if here was a baby in my tummy and I did a shit job deflecting with an awkward “ummm errrmmm why do you think that?” They even pulled open my tank top to peek at my boobs then laughed and were like noooooooo there’s no baby. But for realz I told my partner we better get then a baby book and tsk about it pronto lol

Questions: TTM+, anyone else skip the strollers? I barely used one with Ziggy. I babywore a lot, which I loved and can’t wait to do with this one, until they were too heavy, but by then they could walk almost anywhere so I used just like an umbrella stroller as a rare backup. We haven’t used it in a year or so though. Mostly I’m wondering if there are reasons why I’d want a stroller for a second kiddo that maybe I’m not thinking of?

GTKY: What is your favorite Easter/Spring treat (meal, candy or otherwise)? Easter is such a good holiday for chocolate!!!!! The Easter m&ms are divine, as are the Reese’s eggs. And y’all inspired me to pick up starburst jelly beans.
  • @theglitteredpterodactyl we hardly used our stroller until we realized that DD takes stroller rides at daycare and loves it. So we started using it more when she started asking. We mostly use it to walk to a park that’s a 15 minute walk away. DD can walk all the way but it takes much longer and she usually just wants to be carried halfway through and she’s too heavy to carry for long distances. And sometimes we just want to hurry up and get to the swings! But if you haven’t found much use for strollers with your current kid, I don’t think that will change much with a second, unless they don’t like being carried for some reason but like being in a stroller.

  • @theglitteredpterodactyl My first didn't appreciate baby wearing. I think because she's pretty hot natured. So we got a lot of use out of the stroller. My second loves to be worn, but he's heavy now. It's really nice to have the stroller for containment honestly. So I'm not chasing them in two different directions when we're out. At 3 and 1, nobody around here is listening to Mom  :D
  • Random...on the Easter candy topic...if you’ve never tried Nerds jelly beans, do it. They’re so good
  • @melanier26 we got swedish fish ones that I'm dying to break into.... Sat cannot come soon enough....
  • Random...on the Easter candy topic...if you’ve never tried Nerds jelly beans, do it. They’re so good
Omg they make these?! I need to try them immediately.

SAME!  I might stop at Walmart on the way home from work.

    FTM/STM/TTM+: STM

    Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: Blue!

Upcoming Appointments: End of the month

How are you feeling? (Cravings/Symptoms): Pretty good overall. I’ve started to feel some slight movements from baby which is super exciting! Still craving Mexican food more than usual.

Rants/Raves: My MIL told DH she has started a cowboy themed quilt for the baby. Mind you, neither of us can stand country western anything - not even the music, so we are both a bit annoyed. Have to remind myself to put on my grateful goggles and just appreciate the thought. But I also suspect this is just the beginning of a bunch of stuff that’s not our taste at all. With DS we were team Green so that held her back a bit. Oh well.

    Questions: nope

GTKY: What is your favorite Easter/Spring treat (meal, candy or otherwise)? The white chocolate Reese’s eggs, the Whoppers Robin Eggs, Almond M&Ms, and Starburst jelly beans. I’m not good at choosing favorites when it comes to Easter candy!

  • @galentine I had three showers for my first baby. My mom and cousin hosted one, DH’s aunt hosted another, and MIL’s friends hosted another.

My mom and sister were the only ones who went to them all. I feel like it would have been awkward to have anyone else at multiple!

  • @greenbean-2 we have a baby jogger city mini double and I love it. I really prefer the side-by-side and this one is light weight and fits through any door. It’s great!

I mostly wore my first, but adding the second was a game changer. It’s really hard to herd more than one kid in the same direction a lot of the time. I love the stroller now because I can pack a water bottle, etc and not have to haul everything on my body when we walk because each kid requires her own water bottle, snack, etc.

it also feels safer when crossing the street, etc with two mobile kids.

@steminist it’s not quite the same, but I tore for DS1 but not for DS2 🤷🏼‍♀️

@theglitteredpterodactyl my first, I babywore all the time, past age 3. DS2 has refused it for a few months now, and frankly, I can’t keep up with him so he goes in the stroller. I never used the stroller with DS1

@kats0727 I told the sex (yes, there’s a difference between sex and gender) by holding up a “little sister” sleeper when I told him we got the all clear for genetic issues

  • @cmbt2 but how is “sister” not gendered? Just curious. Wouldnt telling him the sex would’ve been telling him your baby’s genital details?
  • @steminist I had a 4th degree (cut turned into tear) with my first, and the tiniest of snips with my second. I only know because she told me. I didn't notice it during recovery at all.

@mrsinterweb I like the term you used. "Grateful goggles." I need to find a pair to wear around my MIL too.
  • @cmbt2 just wondering what your logic was. Thanks for sharing
  • @Cass005 I teach second grade but my neice is in kindergarten and it can be fun to have your child write the words in different ways, like in sand or on a white board or in some "paint" program on the iPad or computer. Have them find the words in simple/early reader books. Hope that helps!
  • @ineedsixeggs thank you! And I've always had a slight bladder issue so I knew to expect to get worse but this is down right ridiculous this time around. My other 2 pregnancies were bad during, it was after my babies came 😣 I'm going to mention it to my Dr at my appointment tomorrow and see what she says.
@melanier26 I have a snack sized bag in my work bag all weekend at work, the last 3 weekends 😂 I like just about any plain chip normally but lately that's all I want😳
@Cass005 I will be looking them up! I have to make it to a chiropractor here soon and I wondered if having my pelvic floor reset may help. I never did it with the other 2 though a lot of people told me it would be good to. I finally will have to 😂

  • @cheznet Thank you for the suggestion I appreciate it.

@andromedacorrine2 Good luck I hope it helps!!

Baby is the size of a(n): 🍋

    FTM/STM/TTM+: Fourth time mama

Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: So fat the plan is team green but idk if I can actually hold out.

    Upcoming Appointments: 4/26

How are you feeling? (Cravings/Symptoms): Very well, I’m finally feeling better from my pneumonia and other than my boobs going crazy with pain and growing this has been a fairly easy 1st trimester for me.

Rants/Raves: It’s “road construction season” in Michigan and I’m already over the delays from driving. I live in a tourist town so traffic gets bad after Memorial Day but with the big road construction jobs going on near me we already have bad traffic.

Questions: what’s your favorite pregnancy bra?

GTKY: What is your favorite Easter/Spring treat (meal, candy or otherwise)? Reese’s Eggs, jolly rancher jelly beans, and Deviled eggs are my favorite spring treats.
  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days:  10/24/19. 13w3d

    FTM/STM/TTM+: FTM

Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: finding out! Scheduled our 16w early reveal US today! 5/15/19 will be the day!

Upcoming Appointments: just had one this morning. Baby was front and center and the OB was able to find a strong heartbeat immediately. Baby's HR was sitting in the 150's today

How are you feeling? (Cravings/Symptoms): generally really good. A few aches and pains, but nothing too crazy.

Rants/Raves: just super excited about the upcoming ultrasound to let us know what the sex of the baby is 🥰

    Questions: not now!

GTKY: What is your favorite Easter/Spring treat (meal, candy or otherwise)? I love the fun sized mix candy packs with the twix, milky ways, and other assorted chocolates inside!
  • @ineedsixeggs @cmbt2 Did you guys do anything to help out with perineal flexibility or anything beforehand, or just luck of the draw on baby/position/etc? I know each pregnancy and delivery will be different, but I want to maximize my chances.

  • @jenferlee82, I'm so sorry for the daily headaches. I've been getting them daily too, so I just thought I'd offer the comfort that maybe it's just a normal pregnancy thing and not your tumor. ❤ Hopefully your doctor can get you checked out and give you peace of mind.

Oh, and I've found that a little caffeine helps my headaches immensely, so maybe try that in the interim!

Luck of the draw plus having had a previous kid. I saw a chiropractor throughout, but not for that reason

  • @galentine I'm sorry that you are dealing with them too! Unfortunately caffeine doesn't seem to do much for mine. Neither does my hydration level, or magnesium supplements. Hopefully we are both over them soon no matter what!
  • @steminist I think mine was luck of the draw, unfortunately. My son was smaller than my daughter.
  • @jenferlee82 you should check if there are any baby wearing groups around you. They are great because you can go try different wraps and carriers and what works well and comfortable in you. I personally loved my Moby wrap when my guy was itty bitty. I switched to a Tula that I hated and quit wearing after that. I hope to get a lilibaby this time around when I am ready for a more structured carrier

  • @jenferlee82 for baby wearing look at Babywearing International. They unfortunately disbanded last year but still have some good resources on their website and many local chapters are continuing to operate independently. The local chapter in my area still has a Facebook group and meetups to try on different carriers. Local boutiques can also be a good resource for help in trying on different styles. FWIW, we really loved our Lillebaby carrier and still use it from time to time with our toddler. It was super easy.
