Re: Why my pregnant self is crying...

    • I watched A Star is Born over the weekend.
    • A little backstory: I work at a residence for children who need to be placed out of their homes for various reasons, most of them suffering from emotional or psychological issues and/or come from living situations that are really, really bad.  A former resident came to talk at our staff meeting about her life and her time living here and I just bawled the entire time.
    • My boss retired last week and I cried at just about all of the speeches.
    • A coworker passed away on Friday.  We weren't close, but the announcement still made me cry.
And I'm basically a cold-hearted bitch and crying isn't my thing, so this has all been quite embarrassing.

  • TIC because a character in a romance novel I'm reading got into a fight with the other MC. 🙄

Ah f*ck @mamaber2204, thanks for making me cry!! Delivery day will be my first night away from DS. 🥺😭
  • @lillywonderland Sorry!!! It's SO hard to think about!
  • @mamaber2204Which big bro book do you like the best? I have one saved in my Amazon cart for my next order (from the author or the “I love you through and through” books). Was wondering if it’s any good.
  • @mamaber2204 @lillywonderland I'm nervous about this too! I have left DS overnight several times (work trips and one girls trip), but the thought of leaving him and then also flipping his little life upside down by bringing home a new baby has me totally panicked. I'm sure he'll do ok, but I may need to get some books for him.

  • @lillywonderland I'll have to go home and look and tell you!  We have the one by Caroline Jayne Church, who I believe is also the author of I Love you Through and Through (which we also own), but I don't recall whether it's the one I like (I think it is).  We have three and DH just ordered 4 more.  I'll get back to you after we get those and can compare them all!  :) DS LOVES reading, so we're heavily using books to make this whole baby thing more real and relatable for him.

  • @zuuls_mom oops i meant to say he was making me laugh from the sound. It was a laugh cry, thanks for your sweet empathy!

My son watches Daniel Tiger all of the time, and there is an episode welcoming home the new baby. It makes me cry everytime! BTW, the episode is amazing at explaining some things! My son talks about me going to the doctor to have a baby and he will stay with grandma and grandpa. Love it! He is 3 tho, so a little older to understand some things!

  • @zuuls_mom okay I actually did get upset about the new Butterfinger recipe! I didn't know they changed it and had one a few days ago. It was a huge let down for my pregnancy craving! WTH Butterfinger.
  • @blitzybee they also made that episode into a book! My SIL just gave it to him for his birthday and it is great

  • @kgg2241 it's honestly been so long since I've had one I didn't even notice the change! I'm sorry it was a letdown for you though. Definitely a bummer!

  • On the candy front, my paralegal, who sits right outside my office, brought in a bowl of candy today (unusual).  It has Reese's eggs in it.  OH NO.  What a test of willpower.

  • @zuuls_mom I love that show and cry almost every episode 😢
  • I've been babying a raspberry plant since it was a tiny sprout. I just noticed it coming up. I marked it off so it didn't get mowed. This year was the year for fruit. My husband destroyed most of it with a rake.  :'(. It will live but I'll be surprised if I get raspberries this year. He didn't realize it would hurt it to rake off leaves... The guy who is constantly making permaculture plans. Smh
  • My pregnant self is crying because I don't want to eat shrimp. Even thinking about eating one shrimp (that I myself planned on making) sends me into fits of sobbing.  Husband came home to me and my bright red face hyperventilating in the kitchen crying "I don't want to eat shrimp!!"  He's very confused.

I bawled for a good 5 minutes tonight because my bird bit me... he does this every day but he's been getting worse and worse. I can no longer get him out of his cage. It makes me so sad to think about how much time he spends in there. All I want to do is cuddle with him but all he wants to do is bite my face off.

  • @mamaber2204 I haven't even gone into thinking how we're going to handle DS when it's go-time yet (most likely my SIL will take him, I'm hoping) but we live out-of-state from where my parents are, and I haaaaate the idea of him not being with me. I used to think parents were ridiculous for being nervous of how they'll love a 2nd as much as their 1st, and I'm not necessarily at that point, but I'm definitely sad that he has no idea how much his world is going to change and how much he will need to adjust to.

Thinking about all of the lack of sleep in the first 3-6 months makes me sob. Also knowing this time around I'll be going back to work at 12 weeks and not at 1.5 years so I already feel like a crappy mom.

Sobbed last night because my parents told DH that they're looking at houses in Florida to move to, and we had finally decided in the next year or two that we were gonna move back to the East coast to be near them. Now out of spite I'm just wanting to move back to CO where I'm happiest location-wise.

  • I randomly started crying at the fact that there’s a 50% chance there’s a girl in my ute and DS won’t get a brother. Then I wouldn’t be only a “boy mom”.

But I also get a little misty eyed at the fact that I might not have a daughter. Gaaaaah!!

  • At last nights episode of Station 19. 😭😭
  • @lillywonderland Agreed. I cannot decide what I want more. I was more team brother but now I'm getting kind of sentimental about a girl.
