  • @monkeysmom80 Ugh, agree on the maternity clothes. I'm currently getting by with the rubber band trick on my pants and baggy/loose sweaters. I also don't want to buy and maternity clothes that work "for now" b/c I know I'll be getting a whole lot bigger and anything I buy now probably won't work later in pregnancy. I guess for now I'll keep squeezing into what I've got.

  • @mamaber2204 lol love the comment of "don't have to pretend to work when you're dying" that is SO true. Just let me stay home I'm not doing anything productive here. Seriously considered turing off my office lights, closing my door and crawling under my desk yesterday for a nap. Only reason I didn't (seriously) is because we have has scorpions in our office and that is that LAST thing I need right now.

  • @nomangos23 WHAT?!  You have scorpions in your office?!  OMG, sounds like management really knows how to incentivize you to stay alert at your desk!
  • *snip* (seriously) is because we have has scorpions in our office and that is that LAST thing I need right now.

That seems like a very good reason to quit your job.  Hard pass.

  • Est Due Date/ Weeks + Days: 10w4d edd 9.13

Baby is the size of a(n): kumquat

Upcoming Appointments: had one this morning! I met the PA, who I only knew professionally before and not as a patient. She rocks. I plan to keep seeing her until they make me see my MD, haha. We got to see little thing moving and shaking on the ultrasound today.

How are you feeling?: Good, much better now that I know things are a-ok in there. Symptom-wise, mostly just tired and have food aversions, usually when it's time to cook. Sorry, family...

Rants/Raves: Rant: the wait time to get MaterniT21 results, lol. I don't want to wait another week!

    Questions: none

GTKY: What is your favorite things to watch? Whether a TV show, docuseries, movie, genre, whatever you watch, share your favorite(s).  Amazing Race. I love the show, but can never commit to watching it weekly at a set time, and I usually give up halfway through the season. Until now...I discovered all the seasons on Hulu, so I've been binging. :)
  • @RedBreast35 @mamaber2204 Right? Lol yeah they're small and they blend in with the carpet so you have to be super careful. They're not poisonous but they do bite. You always know when one has been spotted because you'll hear women screaming and see them jumping on top of their desks. We also have giant wolf spiders in the office too! And snakes outside of our building! I zig zag run to my car every day thinking they won't get me that way...

@kiddiesandkitties Right there with you on the exhaustion. Can you sneak away to your car for a little cat nap? I've done that once or twice...

@jaykay2004 Ugh I think the food aversion thing has been my biggest struggle. I'm trying to keep snacks and plan our weekly dinners but when it comes time to eating, there is NOTHING that I want. It's awful. I'm sure my husband thinks I'm bipolar.

  • @monkeysmom80 I wish there were more clothes without the rouching. Would be nice for early pregnancy and the month after delivery!

Im finding that having a pair of maternity leggings and folding down the belly part is working. I also bought just 1 pair of jeggings and am doing the same with folding it down. I’m just wearing lose shirts and tunics. Such an awkward stage.

@mamaber2204 ugh that sounds horrible. I hope your DS is better soon!

    Est Due Date/ Weeks + Days: 9/16. 10+1

Baby is the size of a(n): strawberry

Upcoming Appointments: ultrasound and bloodwork at 12 wks for NIPT

How are you feeling?: feeling decent this morning. Taking care of my sick kid is kicking my butt tho.

Rants/Raves: happy we are all getting closer to second trimester!

Questions: anyone else getting ready to stop taking progesterone in the next couple of weeks? I’m nervous!

GTKY: What is your favorite things to watch? Whether a TV show, docuseries, movie, genre, whatever you watch, share your favorite(s). Binge watching New Girl these days.
  • @nomangos23 UMMM... WHAT?! Biting scorpions, wolf spiders, and snakes?! Do you work in the desert?! Wherever it is, I highly recommend that you quit IMMEDIATELY.

@monkeysmom80 I found some cute tops at Pea in the Pod that don't have the ruching.  The nursing tops generally work better for me for early pregnancy and then I can save them for postpartum once I start to get big enough to need the side ruching.  For whatever reason even my previously loose tops and tunics are looking awkward and square and short lately.  Insanity that I'm needing a maternity wardrobe at 8 weeks.

@themadcamel eastern blue-tailed butterfly sounds so beautiful!
  • @blitzybee Yes ma'am, I stopped at 8 weeks and was glad to be done with it. My doc absolutely assured me there was no reason to take it any longer as baby was getting fuel from somewhere else. I haven't noticed any differences and I'm still sick as a dog, so I take that as a good sign. :)

@themadcamel *googles blue-tailed butterfly* ooohh, ahhhh so pretty!
  • Est Due Date/ Weeks + Days: 9/15  - 10 weeks 2 days

Baby is the size of a(n): LEGO MAN!! (I love the ovia app !)

Upcoming Appointments: A week from today I have my 12 week check up (a few days early) with my OB. Then the following week I go to the specialist for the 12 weeks scan. They have us do all the major scans (12/20/32) at the specialist, unsure why but it was like this with my first pregnancy as well - think their technology is better.

How are you feeling?: Nervous. I had the stomach bug last week & couldn't really eat or drink for 3 days. Worried that that could've harmed the baby in some way. I will feel a lot better once we pass this next appointment. I just want to hear the heart beat again! I'm debating getting a doppler to ease my anxiety - my only fear is that if I am not good at finding the HB on my own, that it will in fact make my anxiety 983018 times worse.

    Rants/Raves:  Not much to report.

Questions: Who has a doppler? Has it helped you?

GTKY: What is your favorite things to watch? Whether a TV show, docuseries, movie, genre, whatever you watch, share your favorite(s). Bachelor franchise, Friends reruns, This is Us, Married at First sight, and Food network.
    TTM - EDD 4/23 - Team Green <3
  • @MsBeachNJ I have one on the way. I plan to use it once a week on weeks I don't have an appt. I too will work with a MFM and yes, their technology is usually much better than an OB's. I'm sure babe if fine from the stomach bug, as long as you're catching up on nutrients and hydration :)
  • @kmitchy ummm, what?! I’ve been drinking one Diet Coke a day. Do I need to break up with it too?! 😭
  • @blitzybee I got to stop my progesterone a week ago today (at 10w) and it was amazing to stop!!!  I feel a million times better this week.  It could have just been coincidence with regular "starting to feel better" timing, but I'll take it either way.  Not sure if you're on oral or vaginal, but it was DELIGHTFUL to stop vaginal.  That ish is nasty.

@MsBeachNJ I think a lot of people have dopplers and use them with success.  Just a word of caution though (for anyone!) - today at my checkup, it took my doctor almost 5 min. to find the HB and I'm 11+1.  Just don't panic if you can't find it right away!!  Also, just out of curiosity, does anyone know if a little extra stomach chub makes it harder to find the HB on doppler early on?
  • @kmitchy We love the masked singer.  We even have my 7 yr old watching it.
As for the artificial sweetener, I think it depends on your Dr.  They are controversial to begin with then you add in pregnancy.
  • @nomangos23 thank you - If I do get one I was going to give it to my husband and tell him only to give it to me once a week otherwise I'd be playing with it every night making myself loony.

@RedBreast35 I had an anterior placenta with my first pregnancy, which made it very hard for them to find the HB at even my 16 week appointment (CUE TOTAL PANIC & BEING RUSHED TO AN ULTRASOUND) so that could impact whether or not you can easily find it. I don't believe I knew at the time about the anterior placenta, I can't recall what week they told me about it. I don't know if carrying weight in your stomach impacts it, did you ask your doctor?

    Est Due Date/ Weeks + Days: 11w2d

Baby is the size of a(n): lime

Upcoming Appointments: 2/25. Finally get to listen for a heartbeat!!!!!!!

How are you feeling?: Better, still off, still food aversion but feeling alive.

Rants/Raves: DH has really stepped up this pregnancy compared to last. He's more empathetic too. Learning 😁

    Questions: Is it spring yet?

GTKY: What is your favorite things to watch? Whether a TV show, docuseries, movie, genre, whatever you watch, share your favorite(s). We've been watching a family's YouTube stuff on their homestead. DS loves it. He now knows how to butcher a pig  :#

I was MIA all weekend. MH ended up NOT going out of town so we ran all the errands on Saturday, and then I went to a wedding that was an hour and a half away on Sunday so I was super exhausted and ended up taking off work yesterday just to sleep.
    Est Due Date/ Weeks + Days: EDD 9/23 // 9w+1d
Baby is the size of a(n): Olive!
Upcoming Appointments: March 7th when I'll be 11w+3d. I'd rather it be later so I'd be past the 12 week mark though. I considered changing it. Any thoughts?
How are you feeling?: Mostly tired. Had some serious nausea this morning once I got to work but now just wanna sleep.
Rants/Raves: This is a rant. I seriously want to quit my job but I don't feel like I could find another one that would offer maternity leave or FMLA as soon as I would need it. I despise being micromanaged and treated like a 5 year old, and my boss sent an email out this morning saying that people are abusing the "flexibility of being able to leave for lunch" when we only get 30 minutes for lunch so now we have to email him when we are leaving for lunch and when we get back. And I'm salary. But yet I need to ask permission to leave the building for my lunch? I'm so over it, this is just another thing in a lonnnnnnng line of problems I've had since starting this job.
Questions: None in particular right now.
GTKY: What is your favorite things to watch? Whether a TV show, docuseries, movie, genre, whatever you watch, share your favorite(s). Anything true crime related, ghost hunter shows, 90 Day Fiance, and the Teen Mom franchise even though I'm way too old to watch MTV :D

@nomangos23 UHHHH What?!?! Scorpions?! Spiders? SNAKES?! Negative, ghost rider.
@kiddiesandkitties and @themadcamel I'm right there with y'all on taking the week off. I legit almost called out again today after being out yesterday.

Baby is the size of a(n): lime
    Upcoming Appointments: 2/28
How are you feeling?: Cautiously optimistic that the worst of the throwing up is over - it's not throughout the day anymore! Still brushing my teeth with extreme caution while trying not to skimp on that too much. Now if I could sleep more than 5 hours a night I feel like I'd have a shot at functioning!
Rants/Raves: DH has been really patient with us doing ALL the errands on the weekend - we usually do groceries together anyway, but these past few weeks I've been putting off absolutely anything I can.
    Questions: Not really
GTKY: What is your favorite thing to watch? Whether a TV show, docuseries, movie, genre, whatever you watch, share your favorite(s). We just have netflix and prime, and have been challenged lately finding stuff that's relaxing and low key - recently watched Big Dreams, Small Spaces (gardening show), and Grand Designs (people getting houses built). In the past watched a lot of detective shows (mostly British, but have also watched many seasons of Monk and like all of Psych), and the X-Files, and Bob's Burgers - we're watching less these days and have skewed toward stuff that's easier to turn off in the middle and go to bed, haha.
  • @klpv415 omg you only get 30 minutes for lunch?! I'm a teacher and get 40 (ends up being much less in actual practice) and I thought that was bad! Micromanagement is the worst kind of management style. Good luck sticking it out there until you can find somewhere better. It stinks to feel trapped in a job.
  • @ternsetc WOW @ size of a LIME!  I feel like your baby is so much bigger than mine!! I'm with @kmitchy and still popcorn sized.

I'm sleeping like crap too, and saw an ad for a lotion come across my Facebook page recently.  The brand is called 8 Sheep Organics? And supposedly the lotion is great for helping with sleep during pregnancy.  I'm tempted to buy some to test it out.  I'll let you know!
  • @klpv415 Ugh I hate being micromanaged too. I also hate that you feel like you're stuck because you're pregnant. Is there another department in the company you could transfer to? If not, can you talk to him about it? Also, if you're salary, why are you only allowed a 30 min lunch break? I had a boss once that literally took attendance. She would record (secretly) in an excel file the time she saw everyone getting to work and would use that info to "help build a case" for whatever issue she was dealing with. Still to this day I see her walking around the whole office taking inventory of who is still here and who isn't. I heard her telling her team the other day (thank god I dont report to her anymore) that they need to clean up their areas before they leave for the day and there will be no giggling anymore. She said this to GROWN ADULTS.

  • @nomangos23 oh HELL NO to scorpions! I sometimes thing I want to move to Arizona or New Mexico, but don’t think I could live with those and rattlesnakes.

@themadcamel yes, I think first trimester is twice as long as the other 2. So ready to be in second tri

@mamaber2204 @blitzybee sorry about the sick kiddos. That’s the worst, especially if you don’t feel well too

    Weeks/EDD: 9w4d

Baby’s the size of: a tator tot apparently. Lol

upcoming appointment: next Thursday for my first appt

feeling: pretty good this week. Still a little tired, but not feeling dead anymore. Boobs are only mildly sore now.

Rants/raves: I’m sad that 5+ years between pregnancies means I probably won’t show for a while 😭 I’m so ready to have a bump, it was probably my favorite thing about being pregnant aside from kicks. That combined with a stupid retroverted uterus and being overweight is leaving me looking the same as before right now. Sometimes I think I can feel my uterus right above my pelvis.

Questions: will it ever warm up 😭why is it only February. Why is pregnancy so long? I’ve known for 6 weeks and I’m still in freaking single digit weeks. Darn compulsive early testing.

GTKY: I love medical dramas. The Resident, Grey’s Anatomy, The Good Doctor, New Amsterdam, House. I’m also loving This Is Us and A Million Little Things right now.
  • @calliah YES to the how on earth have we known for this long and still are in single digits!!  Pregnancy never fails to last approximately 40 million years long.
  • @ternsetc I love me some X-Files!
@MsBeachNJ I have the same conflicting feelings about getting a doppler. It could be such a relief, but I'm sure I'd lose my shit if I couldn't find the HB. I also use the Ovia app. I love the French pastry comparisons. Baby is the size of a canape this week
@supermom34482 how exciting! Do you have any ideas for how you'll break the news to yourselves?
  • @calliah Grey's Anatomy is lifeeeeee. I also loved House. Glad to hear you're not feeling dead anymore  !
  • @kiddiesandkitties I have been seeing that lotion advertised as well and was considering ordering some! Very interested to hear how you like it! (I deal with restless leg syndrome which it seems to say it helps!).
    TTM - EDD 4/23 - Team Green <3
  • @MsBeachNJ I just ordered it! I hope it comes quickly!
  • @MsBeachNJ so I don’t have a Doppler but I do have an ultrasound machine (at work) and I take little peaks at baby every few days. It’s reassuring since I don’t have many symptoms. I think that if it will make you feel better, you should get one.
  • @kiddiesandkitties don't do it! Maybe your doctor likes you better than mine likes me! I miss it so much haha...
  • @supermom34482 that’s so neat that you have a doppler. I would use it a lot if I had one too haha. Is it recommended not to use it to often? And that is so exciting that your sex results are in! You have some major willpower to wait til tour next appointment haha.

@kiddiesandkitties I’ve been sleeping awful too. One because I have a 16 month old who is up 1-2 times a night still and two probably just because of pregnancy. Ugh hopefully we get some sleep in trimester 2! The second trimester in my last pregnancy was a dream. 🤞🏼
