@ysotte DH was a mechanic for awhile so he's very specific on what we should buy to replace it. There are just certain things I love about my car that I haven’t found in any other but I’m sick of the constant issues. And it’s expensive to maintain even with DH being able to do the work on it.
It’s also one more thing we have to take care of in the next couple of months. Along with DH finding a job, packing, moving, getting DD (and probably DH too) enrolled in school and of course having a baby.

Hi all!! I’m back from vacation, and we actually had a great time at Disney. I knew my kid would, but I didn’t expect to enjoy it much myself. But it was pretty fun. Don’t think I’m going to be able to catch up on randoms for this week, but just wanted to pop in and say hi.
Major nesting going on over here today - aided and abetted by the new Marie Kondo show (Tidying Up) on Netflix. I’m obsessed.
@mrstmoose, I haven't been worried about it being amniotic fluid, just possibly mucus plug stuff since it's egg white consistency. But I'm pretty sure mine is just normal hormonal increase and such, I'm just being paranoid. If you're having super watery or constant discharge, I would maybe bring it up to your doctor?
I just had the most stressful end to my work day. I stayed late to help out because we had a million people on the list and I didn’t want to leave with so many people waiting. I took back this little boy who immediately started screaming because he didn’t want his hair cut. I am used to this because a lot of children are afraid of haircuts. The dad sits down with his little boy and I proceed to do the consultation to figure out what we’re doing as well as try talking to the little boy to distract/calm him down. The dad tells me not to bother and to just cut the boy’s hair as he restrains him. The little boy starts trying to kick me, barely missing my belly multiple times. I try to explain to the dad how to hold his son so that I can actually do the haircut and the dad ignores me and tells me to just hurry up. The little boy starts biting the dad’s arms as hard as he possibly can. I can see the dad is getting frustrated and stressed out. I get through the sides and back, but need to go around the ears and neck with the trimmers. The thing about trimmers is that they cut very close, so if a child is moving too much and they bump the trimmers wrong, they WILL get cut because their skin is sensitive. I’m being patient and trying to calm the boy so that he’s still enough that I can safely use the trimmers. The dad starts snapping that he wants somebody with more experience to cut his son’s hair because I’m not going fast enough. I am both the manager of the salon and the most experienced one working at the time and I can guarantee that the one stylist who has cut hair for longer than me would have flat out refused to do the cut in the first place. Anyways. All my staff got upset at the way he was speaking to me and started telling this man off and I had to attempt to diffuse the situation even though I was feeling angry and insulted myself. I’ve cut enough children’s hair to know that if you try to hold them down and force them through the cut, they just freak out more. You have to try to distract and entertain them and get them comfortable. I’ve cut a little kid’s hair while he sat on the floor because that’s what made him feel safe. It drives me insane to be told that I’M the problem in this scenario.
@ysotte yikes. So sorry that happened to you! I always trust the professionals in the situation. You've dealt with more kids than I have to I'll take your advice! I'm glad you had people stand up for you too!
@thatbaintforbetty That's not funny but I did giggle a bit, I have to admit. What are kids thinking?!

@kosmo86 it's my first day back after Christmas break (and only working 8-12) and I'm shopping online. This is after I checked my emails and then went around and gossiped with everyone.
After 10 teeth came in with us barely noticing, DD is struggling mightily with the bottom molars. She’s in such misery and all I want to do is cuddle her til she feels better.

I ended up going to L&D after talking to the on call doctor. No amniotic fluid. Woohoo
