Symptoms 12/26

Re: Symptoms 12/26

  • @mighty_montgomery Yep, pelvic pain is sadly normal and because of everything super loosening in the area. If it’s really bad a pregnancy support belt can help. If mine gets much worse I will probably get one.

  • Has anyone noticed an increase in Braxton Hicks? My uterus has been so tight and tense the last few days, more than usual, and all I’ve been doing is resting at home.
  • @lilpotatomama, I have trouble now distinguishing between a Braxton hicks and just babe pushing on me.  As he's gotten bigger, I feel like my stomach feels tight really regularly, and I know they can't all be BH.  Sometimes I can tell one side is firm and obviously a head/back/butt is there, and the other side is soft.  When I feel like I'm having a BH, my entire uterus and pubic area are hard and tight and I sometimes feel like I have to breathe a bit deeper through it.  Not sure if any of that helps you or not, but for what it's worth!

Also, anyone else feel like their boobs are suddenly less full/heavy?  I can't tell if my stomach is just popping more so it's not as noticeable, but my boobs seem less "voluptuous", as my husband says.  I'm not really concerned about supply or anything, but did find it odd since just a week or so ago I could express a few drops and now I can't.

  • @kangstadt Yes!!! I told DH last night that my boobs felt almost back to their normal size. As he has 5 older kids (and has obviously been through this with a couple other baby mamas lol), all he said was, "they'll go up and down." I trust his experience ;)

@lilpotatomama I can't really tell if mine are all BH or just baby like @kangstadt said. Sorry I'm not much help! I'm definitely getting them now, though, and that is a change from even just a couple weeks ago.
  • @kangstadt that’s exactly how it is for me! When it gets tight on one side only, almost like a hard ball, I know that’s baby. Today it’s just been tight all over. Weirdly, I found relief after I went to work!
  • @lilpotatomama I started having Braxton Hicks the last few days, yesterday I had about 3-4 of them throughout the day and I know it's not baby because like you said it's the entire area and not just one side. My DH asked if that was too early and hearing it from you girls helps me to not freak out about it and that it's normal even this early on.

  • @lilpotatomama and @angelob88, my sister is an OB, and she said that as long as you're not having five or more in an hour and they aren't painful, they're totally normal.  Usyally they'll go away if you change what you're doing also, at least mine do.  I read somewhere that they can start as early as 12 weeks but most women don't even notice them.  They're usually earlier/more noticeable for subsequent pregnancies as well (which is probably why I noticed them around 20 weeks this time instead of 36 with my first!).

Anyone else experiencing itchy palms and soles? It’s so weird. I’m guessing it’s because my hands and feet are swelling a bit and the skin is stretching.
Speaking of swelling, before pregnancy I was a 32D and last week I bought a 38DD bra. It’s a laughable difference.
  • @suchagoodone your itchiness could be caused by something more serious (but I hope that's not the case). Be mindful of other symptoms popping up along with your itchiness just in case, it may be worth mentioning to your doctor just to be safe.
  • I've had a few Braxton hicks, but only when I'm chasing or picking up my 2.5 y.o...probably just reminding me to slow down.
  • I know they say the first post partum poop sucks, but I'm so looking forward to just being able to poop normally and regularly again... (TMI?  Between pregnant ladies, probably doesn't exist, haha, but oh well.)

  • You and me both @kangstadt

The pregnancy constipation/digestive issues and subsequent hemorrhoids are killing me.

  • @thatbaintforbetty ugh, the hemorrhoids!!! They’re a nightmare. Nothing has helped so far.
  • @thatbaintforbetty and @lilpotatomama, yup.  I stopped taking my iron supplements because they were making me so constipated, so now I'm not sure what's causing it other than normal pregnancy hormones but ugh!  I think I have a minor hemorrhoid as well, but I avoid looking down there since it's all so uncomfortable  .

  • So I’ve been having this sharp pain on my right side right around the hip/pelvis area but kinda low. It’s fairly painful but lightening fast. It’s freaking me out a bit, but doesn’t seem like it’s getting more frequent or worse. Baby is still moving around and seems to be all good. It doesn’t feel like the RLP I’ve had.

Also I feel like I posted something similar to this before but can’t find it via mobile.

Might call the doc in the am just in case. I wish I had online portal access so I could just message them.

  • @thatbaintforbetty could have to do with the joints/ligaments loosening, but probably worth getting checked out just in case.
  • @thatbaintforbetty I remember your post about that pain because I've been having it (or something similar) on my left side. I don't really know what it is, but it almost corresponds with my constipation. Like, when I've been regular for a few days I don't seem to have it. But the constipation always comes back!
  • @rennie1108 I’ve definitely noticed my digestion has gotten slower and therefore my bathroom habits. Could be related. I haven’t had it again since last night, but I’ll keep an eye out for a possible connection.

It could just be a ligament thing or she’s pressing on something and it’s causing the pain. I hate that there are many possibilities and very few answers and even more annoyingly a list of things that may be an issue or are totally fine and just weird pregnancy things.
