I’ll start by saying that we shouldn’t have watched The Man in the High Castle before bed. I had graphic dreams of murder and stabbing. And I woke up during the dream so of course I remember it all 😑
@lilpotatomama aw man. That’s the worst. My scary or weird dreams are always the ones I remember most vividly. 😣
my morning has been rough. I have insurance coverage starting in January, but the message I received saying I have coverage for the rest of this year was wrong. I won’t hear back until mid-November about it so after my dr appointment today, I may not be able to see a doctor until the new insurance in January. I’m so sad. It shouldn’t be this hard to get prenatal care.
Hey friends. Just sitting around having Chipotle for lunch. It's got whole grains and proteins and veg right? Totally good for me. I was up last night at 12, 3, and up for the day at 5 (thanks DS!) so I am draaaaagggggggggging. But I got a last minute project done real quick so hopefully that gets me on my boss's good side for the week, ha.
@lilpotatomama I watched these three short scary like, longform ads? I don't know exactly what they were but I was on edge all night last night! Sorry for the bad dreams! @ysotte that is super frustrating. Like @lyse01 said can you get on Medicaid at least for the time being, or work something out with the OBs office? January is just so far away
@lilpotatomama that's terrible! I hate waking up and remembering bad dreams. I have to swear off horror films during pregnancy because I'm up to pee every single night from day one (super annoying).
Today hasn't been too terrible yet so it's a decent start to the week. Only 4 more hours of work and I get to hang out with my DD tonight just her and I. I've been starting to feel movement from the babes and it's not super consistent but it's definitely there both yesterday and this morning so that has me in high spirits.
DH got a job offer! Health insurance starts day 1 and it sounds like they might want him to start this week so it’s a huge relief! I can’t tell you how much I was stressing over this. Almost went back to selling panties for extra income
@ysotte definitely sign up for Medicaid. My DH was laid off a few weeks ago and it took maybe 5 days to get the letter from Medi-cal that I had coverage for my pregnancy.
@lilpotatomama I’m a huge horror fan but I get horrible nightmares when I’m pregnant. I watched the new Halloween last week and I seriously have dreamt about being stabbed by Michael Myers every night since then. Then I saw the trailer for La Llarona and now I can’t pee in the middle of the night without checking to make sure DD is still alive and in her room. I feel your pain. I know better than to watch scary stuff while I’m pregnant but I can’t help myself.
Anyone else not really showing yet? I'm 15+3 and I guess I look like I have a small belly? But probably looks more like just flab than a bump. I did lose 18 pounds in my first trimester, so I'm sure that has something to do with it.
Also, I've read so many posts about women being really emotional or hormonal and I haven't been that way at all! My moods haven't changed, my feelings towards my husband haven't changed, I haven't been crying over anything...anyone else feel totally normal emotionally??
@tweste22 I'm not showing (13 weeks) it's very common for first time mom's to not show until 18-19 weeks or later.
Every pregnancy is different and symptoms for you may not match the stereotypical symptoms. Hell, this weekend is the worst nausea I've had and my first time throwing up all pregnancy, and I feel LIED to, because every app is all "Your nausea should be subsiding by now !".
@tweste22 totally normal for a FTM. When I was pregnant with DD, I didn't really show until 19-20 weeks (even though I could tell earlier due to pants fitting more snug). I also wasn't sick at all or had any crazy emotions. This time is completely different. Consider yourself lucky!
I’ll be back to send some replies to everyone once I get home, but today was a great day! Day 2 of no vomiting/no serious acid reflux issues. I think I (hopefully) figured it out. Also, I had a near perfect job review filled with compliments and praise and I cried so hard that they sent me on a break and gave me candy 😂 it feels so good to be appreciated at a job, especially one I love so much.
@ysotte@angelob88@MRDCle I should probably specificy that what we watched is a show on amazon prime! It isn’t technically “scary”, but it ended on a note of violence yesterday and I think it got stuck in my head. As graphic as my dream was, it was like a movie. It had a plot??? I don’t know how else to describe how vivid it was.
I took a personal day off work today because I didn't want to wake up my 1.5 year old DD for daycare. We hung out and had fun outside before it rained.
@lyse01@MRDCle@harveyisaboysname I applied for Medi-Cal at the beginning of this month and about a week ago, I went on the Covered California website and it said I had already been approved, but I was given zero information. I called the Social Security office and my social worker said she was still missing some paperwork and it wasn’t approved yet. I brought what they needed into the office. Then they told me it takes 45 days to process and I won’t hear back from them until mid-November. I set up my next Dr appointment and they will hopefully approve me so that I’ll actually be able to go. Pregnancy and the fact that my current insurance sucks isn’t a qualifying life event for switching insurance, so if I don’t get approved for this, I have to wait until January for my new insurance. It’s beyond aggravating. My doctor is trying to label things a certain way so I can get around my insurance to do some blood tests that I would need within the next couple weeks.
Side note: It turns out I’m 17 weeks instead of 15 weeks based on how baby is measuring. My due date jumped from April 14th to March 31st 😆 although, I had an aunt that was 6’3” along with various other tall family members so I could just be having a big baby. I hope not cuz i’m small.
@MRDCle I hope so too. I’m just happy I finally got to see an ultrasound/hear the heartbeat yesterday. I was starting to feel like maybe I was just crazy.
@ysotte Call the local county health office. They do not advertise it but there is a huge disconnect between Covered CA and the MediCal system, information does not flow both ways very well (if at all) You can do a whole lot more, like submitting paperwork and information access through the Medical websites/contacts then through CoveredCA.

@ysotte that’s horrible. I applied online. They told me coveredca didn’t cover pregnancy, but I was covered under mediCal. I got my card in the mail already. Though I won’t even be able to use it because now that DH has a job we are no longer eligible. I was told if you’re pregnant you are automatically covered under mediCal assuming you meet the financial criteria

I'm not showing either, but that's because I am overweight to begin with. I don't expect to show until much later in my pregnancy. As far as being really emotional or hormonal, nope, I really haven't been either. I get a little ragey sometimes, but for the most part, I am my normal self.
@thatbaintforbetty I’ve been communicating with the local office since the confusion, but good to know.
@harveyisaboysname My problem is that I’ve been working crazy overtime this year due to being short-staffed, so it might mean that my income will be just barely too much for them to approve me.
BTW. I contemplated popping over to the March 2019 group to see what’s up over there since my due date changed, but I like it over here And I’m staying. 😆 For all I know, this baby will come a day late and still be born in April anyways.

My EDD is 4/15 but with twins it'll be adjusted to sometime in March, but I'm sticking here too!
@MRDCle and @ysotte my EDD has change so many times I have no idea when this baby is supposed to come. Early on it was March 24th, then it got moved to April 2nd (right around when I started looking at The Bump so I joined the April BMB), then it got moved to back to March 30th but my midwife recommended sticking with an April EDD to give myself a bigger window for avoiding being induced, and so now we are saying April 1. I like this group so I am also sticking here. The March BMB is almost too low-key for me (and I lurk on May and June because they have more drama!)
I calculated my EDD as 4/23, my new doc office I called today said 5/3 based on the same dates. ER has me at 4/18. I’m guessing my new doc will do an ultrasound and go by that which will probably be yet another different date. I’m pretty much meh about it right now. You guys are stuck me regardless of what they say.

Guys- one of DD's teachers at her daycare delivered a baby on Friday at 34 weeks and didn't know she was pregnant!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She just thought she had intense menstrual cramps and went home and delivered in her bathroom. Nuts.
@happymoni21 Right? I almost asked her late last week when she was due, but chose not to because she had never mentioned the pregnancy and didn't want to stick my foot in my mouth. She isn't a large framed person, and it definitely looked as though she was pregnant so I don't know how she didn't realize it. I'm so glad she and baby are ok! Poor DD is losing both of her teachers now, as the other is due 11/5.
Hugs to all the insurance people! We had a 2-year mess after DD, but it worked out after we simply didn't quit hounding people. It çost a lot of sleep and tears, though, so I empathize!
@ysotte: Not a first line of defense, but, for between now and January, have you checked to see if your doctor's group has a charity board? Ours did and we only wound up paying 10% of the bill. Other than that, I was almost always able to get away with paying about 30% if I called and begged enough for the cash pay option.

I’m honestly amazed every single time I hear a story about someone not knowing they were pregnant! It just blows my mind.
@BarefootContessa I’ve heard stories like that, but that’s so crazy! I can’t even imagine not noticing any of the Symptoms.
@TheSouffleGirl I asked and they don’t have anything like that. If the Medi-Cal isn’t approved then I’ll probably call around and see if I can find anywhere willing to take me until I get the new insurance in January.
