@Sleepy33 I gave up on pants by about 18-20 weeks with my son and just wore skirts and leggings until I had him.
Sadly, I don't think I can wear skirts through the winter here, and I for sure can't wear leggings to work. I am sad. I just dropped some $$ on new work clothes before I got KTFU, too.
@msb615 we don't have a Macy's here. In theory, I'm totally on board for that thread, but since Canada doesn't have a lot of the stores you guys have, I'm not sure how useful it will be to me. But - I say start the thread! I'm sure a lot of people will find it useful and I know I want to be in maternity clothes full time pretty soon.
Related: I'm sometimes still bitter that Target pulled out of the Canadian marketplace. They hardly even gave it a shot.

@sleepy33 I wear leggings under some dresses and tunics that are long enough to count as dresses through the winter. Even not pregnant, but definitely being pregnant through a Canadian winter this year, I'll be living in my fleece-lined leggings and tunics/dresses. I wore that kind of thing through my first pregnancy too, when I was still in the workplace. I'll probably get a couple pairs of full panel maternity jeans for variety, but in the past I always found that no matter what style of maternity pant I bought they were constantly slipping down. So uncomfortable!
@msb615@k2k2tog and others - I almost exclusively order my maternity clothes online. I had a summer baby last time so lived in dresses and especially hated the full panel in the summer. I actually love the side panel/underbelly pants. ThredUp is a good option. I've always found with pants that my pre-pregnancy size works. Certain dresses/tanks/shirts that aren't "bodycon" (aka tight with rouching) were definitely hit or miss, though. I had things I thought I'd grow into that ended up never working so planning to resell those when I get around to it. Anyways, I think a thread would be a great idea.
@mrskoz428 I didn't have a ton of pants last time (summer baby) but Macy's and gap were my go-tos. I found that the underbelly pants didn't work for me anymore at a certain point but were great at least through the second trimester. The overbelly aren't as uncomfortable as you'd think but maybe try something on the cheaper side first as I have some weird clothes hangups (turtlenecks are a huge NO for me) so I get it.
@eatinwatermelonseeds I tried over the cook time, and they sort of withered and got more dry. Restaurants must use butter or SOMETHING. I can't get that amazing texture.
@DressageDarling I haven’t but I hate when dresses have a band of elastic around the middle. Even sports bras feel really tight around my stomach. I think I’m just super sensitive. I could always try on some pairs and see how they feel. I just know I’m not big enough for them quite yet. Haha.
@mrskoz428 I hear you about the elastic band hatred! I had to stop wearing bras with an underwire during my first pregnancy because it dug into the top of my belly so much I lost feeling on the right hand side! It was super strange and unnecessary. It took me a long time to wear them again, as I didn't trust it, haha.
@k2k2tog I will never stop being bitter about the demise of Target in Canada! They did the whole thing so poorly, it was obvious it was going to fail from a mile off, and now we're stuck here with no Target, no Zellers, nothing similar. Argh. I think at some point I'm gonna have to take a road trip down to the states for a Target/Trader Joes shopping excursion.
At least we still have Toys R Us/Babies R Us? I'm pretty sure that's gone in the states.
I took DS over to see my mil today. i was talking to her about a thermos i plan on buying DH when she interupts me and brings up my bil and sil.
My sil who I don't like is 6 months pregnant abd my mil was criticizing her weight. Despite not liking her Im not going to bash a pregnant womans weight.
My mil went on and how she ddoesnt know how sil will make it to January since shes so huge.
I spoke upcand told her you know she was pregnant with twins before and this is her 2nd pregnancy so shes probably just showing sooner.
My mil kept denying what i was saying and kept on about how shes gained too much weight
Im pissed i felt the need to defend someone i hate. Plus now I'm wondering how much trash she talked when i was pregnant with ds behind my back.

@liliumstargazer13 I’m so sensitive. I bought a dress for my BIL wedding this weekend that had an elastic band and it feels horrible now! 🤢 Quickly bought something new online on Sunday!
@psychobutthead I don't blame you, I would've spoken up too. I don't understand why people think they have any right to comment on a person's weight just because she's pregnant. That's awful.
So, apparently my son's bus route was changed and that is supposed to go into effect on Thursday (nobody told me this), and his current bus driver thought it was starting today, so she left my poor baby at school. Nobody bothered to call and tell me my child would be home late, so about 7 minutes past his normal drop off time I called and they told me all of this. Another bus driver took him, and he'll be home in 15 minutes. Why the hell would they not CALL me?! My child doesn't come home when he's supposed to, I'm going to panic. That's 25 MINUTES past his normal drop off. I'm just so mad right now.
@eatinwatermelonseeds I’m genuinely shocked they didn’t call you to let you know he would be late. That would send anyone into a panic. I would be so upset and would have let them know that’s unacceptable. I’m sorry you had to deal with that!
I'm so upset. He's FOUR. Someone just left my child at school and no one bothered to let me know he'd be home late. And there were other kids from his route on that bus, so now I'm worried they didn't know either. I'm so mad.
I dropped DD off at daycare a bit before 11 in my workout clothes and her teacher asked if I'd lost weight. I said I'm just usually in baggier clothes or sweatshirts (truth). DH usually does drop off and it's cold at 8am if I'm dropping off. Now, the tank top I'm wearing is tight fitting (technically a nursing top that doubles as maternity due to it's stretch) and the blump is insane but I don't want to change before pickup.
@eatinwatermelonseeds that is so negligent of the school. I had similar things like that happen to me when I was a small kid at school. I hooe you raised hell.
And as for my mil I just cant with her today. Who freaking knows what shes going to say once I get bigger. Some people are a real piece of work.

@psychobutthead I'm the world's biggest push over and I just thanked the lady for letting me know (after I called her 😒). I hate conflict, but I need to figure out who to talk to about this so it doesn't happen again.
@psychobutthead I can imagine how hard that was to defend her but it's nice to still have her back. Hopefully SIL would have yours too.
@eatinwatermelonseeds I just did an Oh Hell No in my office lol It was nice of you to thank the messenger but I agree that you need to let someone know your frustrations so they think further along next time.
@eatinwatermelonseeds omg that is one of my greatest fears since becoming a mom. I would have lost my shit! I would contact the school tomorrow morning and let them know what happened and that is unacceptable.
@sleepy33 It mostly just rains here in the winter so at least its not snowy and cold I guess.
@psychobutthead That's horrible! Good for you for defending your SIL even though you don't like her. I'll never understand why people think it is ok to talk about another person's weight, pregnant or not.
@eatinwatermelonseeds call the bus company. It’s their fault that the bus driver was uninformed. Also, complain to the school. We cancelled school for 3 days the first week of school because our bus company the district contacts majorly fucked up. Preschoolers were home 2.5 hours LATER than they were supposed to be! It was awful! I cannot imagine the panic those poor parents experienced. I was there to walk 4 year olds to the proper bus and give hugs to crying kiddos who were sharing busses with middle schoolers and shouldn’t. The bus company got their butts chewed!
@eatinwatermelonseeds you handled that so well. I would’ve lost it. I’m sure you squeezed your son extra tight today.
Ok what brand of prenatals is everyone taking?? I’ve been taking just folic acid and a multivitamin but I’m running out of both and need something new. Preferably without iron. That iron really binds me up!
You all are so sweet. I am going to call the school tomorrow because I feel like they should've called when he was left by the first driver. I may call transportation again, too, but I did already speak to someone there and I'm not sure I could really lay into anyone whose fault it wasn't directly.
@bluesky24 I'm taking one a day gummies because I hate pills 🤢
@eatinwatermelonseeds I can't even imagine. Things like that make me want to home school DD. I hope you rip everyone at the bus company and the school a new a-hole.
Did anyone get a warning for that thread that was shut down? Maybe it was her unwelcome tone? Or, the BumpGods are trying to turn this place into Babycentre.

SITB ********** I made the mistake of not taking iron during my pregnancy with DD and after she was born I had all kinds of issues and my iron stores were scary low. Like you, I thought I couldnt tolerate iron supplements because I would always vomit after taking them, but my Dr told me to take Slow Fe at night. I never had any issues. When we started getting ready to TTC again, I started Rainbow prenatals on the advice of another Bump friend. As long as I take them before bed, I have no issues..

@msb615 we do, but it’s not like yours. Things that are inexpensive or reasonably priced on American Amazon can be four or five times the price here.
