@bellebaby221- Same thing happened to my old man cat who had been my furbaby forever, when my son was just a baby. Started peeing everywhere and just declined so fast with those bad kidney problems, and stopped eating and that was it
Yes if we could get him out from under the bed in the morning. It's the only room he still has access to and he goes there to escape the morning chaos. We already keep him out of the kids rooms and he's banned from the basement and office for already ruining the carpet with pee. He's a sweet cat but I'm afraid he's really going to have problems when the baby arrives.
@bellebaby221 that's so frustrating but also sad at the same time. Which I bet makes it even more frustrating because you can't really justify being pissed about it
@kayjay44 I saw that on the mytherapistsays IG earlier today and died laughing, then sent it to three friends. I'm glad to find that someone else also enjoyed it as much as I did!
@okayestmom12 I have the same exact one sitting in my living room right now. My MIL purchased it while I was on the phone with her, and she had it delivered to my apartment since she'll be travelling down here for the shower and didn't want to have to pack it. When I told her that it had arrived, she said "Don't peek! It's a surprise!" and I was like "...I was on the phone with you when you purchased it...".
Because I’m like a child on Christmas, I opened it up. To inspect it and make sure it was correct (obviously).
This is our 3rd kid and 3rd infant seat. Wishing we’d have gotten a Chicco with DD 6+ years ago! It’s so much lighter than the Britax we had for her and Graco for my son. I’ll probably test it in my car one day this week. For science.
@hannahbananas11 - That’s too funny. I had planned to wait till Black Friday to see about any deals BUT w/ the Target Trade In 20% coupon + stacking another 20% coupon + my Red Card discount, I couldn’t beat the price ($125 w/ tax shipped!).
I took a big bucket of DD’s clothes to Once Upon A Child this morning and have to run back there tonight after DH gets home to cash out... He’ll be on bedtime duty so I’m thinking I’ll browse their infant boy clothes a bit too.
Then it’s Chick Fil A takeout for dinner. Cobb Salad, come to momma.
All the car seat talk today gave me anxiety. I havent researched anything yet... im paranoid? Anyway I spent the afternoon researching infant seats and looks like were going chicco as well but ive decided to wait at least til 24 week preg to buy... which isn't far away.
Typing with one hand takes serious skill... my other is too busy awaiting baby kicks.... been super kicky today, i think they like carrots and hummus which i had to have after reading that in a post the other day..
@cass06_07 No worries, FTM here with no clue either. I did some basic research and came to the conclusion of that specific car seat and also a stroller + bassinet, and that’s pretty much it. Still need to get a plan nursery stuff, clothes etc and I haven’t bought a single thing yet (besides a couple adorable onesies because I couldn’t resist). My plan is to wait till Black Friday for some things, and then wait for my Amazon registry discount to kick in for the rest. We still have plenty of time!

@grebretso , true! We are doing some renos (well, DH is) and have some purchases required due to that... plus the baby purchases, aghhh starting to get me a little anxious! I decided to forego the bassinet, and just got a free baby box that I pick up in October. I have an idea of what I want in terms of a crib, we have the glider already and the baby's room is a shared guestroom, so we have a double bed and dresser (acting as the change table, just need a pad) in there.
I think I just need to figure out the stroller, and then I won't be so anxious... the rest of the stuff doesn't seem so daunting! Okay well, the stroller and a breast pump, I have to go back a re-read that thread!
I set up an amazon registry for the discount purposes as well... otherwise like you all I've purchased are a couple onesies and a bib!
Confession: I've purchased absolutely nothing baby related. I have added most things I'll hopefully need to our registry, but the baby section of Target overwhelms and stresses me out.
You can buy Chick-Fil-A lemonade and tea by the gallon - it's amazing. Do it.
They've also catered most of our kids' parties.
@thechickendance - Your first? I really didn't purchase anything myself with my first until the end - We got a few gifts before then, but I didn't buy anything until I was in third tri except the onesies we used to announce (with our college on them). Which is easy when you're team green. I've bought a few warmer outfits here and there (since it's our first winter baby) but won't buy anything else until the end because you really just don't need much when the baby comes - Diapers, some clothes (not a lot), blankets, a place to sleep and boob stuff.
@thechickendance we haven’t bought anything either. Probably won’t for a while. I’ve looked at a bunch but we have plenty of time so I’m not worried. Don’t stress
@grebretso Chicco Keyfit infant seats are the best. I had one with both of my kids and thankfully saved my last DDs so I can use it again with this babe since it’s not expired. It is so much lighter than some of the others.
I also like the Liteway Plus (nice umbrella stroller with actual rubber wheels vs plastic) to pair with the Keyfit vs whatever strollers come in the travel systems. They’re usually bulky and not great.
We have our car seat and stroller too. Got the Graco Snugride extended to fit with the snap and go. I've used Gracos for all my kids and really liked them.
Okay I’m late to the party, but Chick-fil-A lemonade is the only way I survived first tri. I knew the busy times to stay away from our closest drive thru. That gallon would have been a lifesaver.
For the overwhelmed folks (me too!!), my go to has been baby bargains book. I've been reading a thing or two every week or so, and then adding it to my baby list. I haven't set foot in a store section or purchased anything. Maybe i'll go see the stuff "in person" later on. Maybe not HA!
@ohsunnydays Yeah I definitely need to see some stuff in person too. Also I figure I can get a lot for cheap or free off Facebook or OfferUp. I keep seeing Halo bassinets for sale in my local parents Facebook group, so I figure I'll pounce on one at some point. A lot of friends are are done with their baby stuff and are offering to give or sell it to us too, so that's pretty awesome!

Heads up: this whole post talks about miscarriage, so a big fat *TW* here: I only recently started buying some stuff. When I got pregnant back in February, I bought a few clothes and things out of excitement. One of the onesies arrived from Amazon on the day that my miscarriage was diagnosed. It sucked. So when this pregnancy happened, I held off, just because I didn't want to risk another miscarriage with more baby stuff. Now that I'm safely in the second trimester, though, I'm starting to purchase some fun things! I'm trying to limit myself, though, because I know that babies don't need much, and friends/family will most likely get us a bunch of stuff, too, since they're already so excited.
@ohsunnydays The basic swivel ones seem to be going for $100 give or take, depending on condition. I figure I'll get a lightly used one and then resell it when we're done with it. If I buy one for $100 and sell it for $70-80 I'll consider it a good deal!

@hannahbananas11 Yikes, that is awful! I also waited till second tri before I bought those cute onesies. Due to my spotting that lasted on and off for the entire first nine weeks I was way too terrified to even think I'd have a good outcome for most of the first tri.

Thanks @grebretso !!! That sounds like a great deal. @hannahbananas11 I am so glad you are able to enjoy a little bit now. Although i have not had a mc, I totally get that superstition thing, i think it's my personality. I've always kinda been like this.
@grebretso I remember that you had that happening, along with a few other people. I was really nervous for you, and was really impressed with how calm you seemed about the whole thing (while travelling out of the country for a few weeks on top of that!). I'm super glad that it turned out to be fine!
Thanks, @hannahbananas11! I was NOT calm, haha. At some point you just have to throw your hands up in the air and let it be though, otherwise you go insane. The outcome has already been determined and there's nothing you can do! I wasn't going to let it ruin my vacation, especially since I only see my parents those two weeks a year. I can't believe everything is looking completely normal now, although I probably shouldn't jinx myself a week before my AS!

I’m planning on buying a halo bassinet new but I’m weird about baby stuff and don’t really do used unless I know where it comes from (like know the people). Even then, IDK, I’m just neurotic. I will have so much shit to sell as this LO grows through - I’m already looking into consigning this spring since we’ve saved pretty much everything.
I did buy buy a limited edition blanket early on this time, but knew I would want it regardless of having a MC or not and had to jump on it. But I’m the same way - I don’t want to jinx anything.
I got rid of all of our baby clothes from both kiddos except for a small batch of sentimental items. I do still have an infant car seat, RnP, PnP, crib (which my 2.5 yo still loves and I need to transition sooner than later).. so most of the big stuff. I haven’t bought anything for this one but I don’t think I’ll need much. Some diapering supplies, boob stuff, and odds and ends.
So far I have bought two little sets of onesies and DH has bought some diapers. We 'bought' a stroller but were then given money for it so that barely counts! I theoretically want to buy stuff but I seem to have some kind of mental block about actually doing it. Luckily I have boatloads of hand me downs from my brother and sister, some that I received before we even thought of trying, and ILs who love to shop. It's probably a good thing that I don't feel the urge to buy.
I’m pretty conservative when it comes to purchases. I wouldn’t have bought the car seat if the price wasn’t so amazing.
I was consigning some of DD’s clothes today and browsed the shop a bit... I’m weird about used gear, especially used gear that requires power/ batteries because if it shits the bed after a week of use, there’s no recourse. But buy it full price from Amazon and it does, and you can replace it.
@hannahbananas11 - I totally get that. I had a missed m/c way back in early 2011 and it still is always there, even after two healthy pregnancies, in the back of my mind. Hugs.
