Re: Randoms 9/10-9/14

  • The weight gain is real. I put on a form fitting shirt for the first time in forever, DD gasped and told me my belly was too big. She went on to ask when the baby is coming out. I guess it’s better from her than from coworkers, but geeze...I’m over it.

In an email yesterday from my MIL re: my registry: "You should register for more baby clothes, since you can always use them again for future kids." Whoah now, let's not get too ahead of ourselves here!
  • Know what's better than 1 kid with a fever?  2 kids with fevers! Two weeks into the school year and I've got kiddos missing days already. I hope everyone is feeling better for our AS tomorrow morning. Everyone has been so excited for it!
  • I just realized my bump will grow at the same rate as it gets colder, so my coats and jackets will pretty much always hide it, except maybe near the end. I’m so happy about this! Someone I know on FB is currently 7 months pregnant and she just posted about unwanted touching from strangers. Hopefully we’ll avoid that (a girl can dream, right?).

  • @danixbanani24 work clothes are a serious struggle. I'm hoping the cool weather plus obviousness of my bump coincides with my regular pants+belly band combo no longer working so I can segway smoothly into tunics/sweaters and leggings but that's seeming increasingly unlikely. Our dress code is not enforced but I still don't want to be judged.
Footwear is another issue. To go with my legging dream I need flat boots but I'm terrified of my feet changing after I've dropped money.
So yeah, I'm with you. I'm trying to not think about it, as my unbottoned pants appear increasingly stressed.
  • @danixbanani24 YUP. No such thing as nice looking work clothes or shoes. I spent the entire winter of my first pregnancy in dresses and tights (for meetings) and uncomfortable shoes or leggings, long cardigans and knit uggs. Literally the only shoes that stretched with my feet. I looked like an actual bum, but I felt awesome and was growing a human being so I didn't let myself feel shame.
  • @BourbonBiscuits I might cave and buy some uggs this winter. I’ve never owned a pair, but if any time is right, it’s now.

I’m so, so glad there’s no dress code at work. I’m going to live in leggings and sweaters. I bought a couple fleece lined leggings that I can’t wait to wear when it gets colder!

  • I wore knock off Uggs in my college days and what they lack in style they absolutely make up for in comfort. I feel like pregnancy is a very good reason to make that tradeoff.
  • Sounds heavenly @okayestmom12! I could really go for a slice of that right now.
  • @BourbonBiscuits and @becks_726 I’m with yah. I want leggings and tunics so bad right now.

Adding to my already emotional state today is DS school called bc he pooped himself  :s it isn’t a daycare so they don’t change him because it’s a regular school and not a daycare.  I hate relying on my family members because it makes me feel guilty so I’m just a big mess today

  • @danixbanani24 they won't CHANGE him? Like I get that they won't deal with diapers but surely they can respond to an accident?! If a guardian couldn't get there quickly what would they do, let him sit in it? That seems barbaric.

These are the little things that really freak me out about raising children without family nearby...

    THIS. So much this.

I’ve taught in schools that aren’t licensed for changing children but that doesn’t mean we won’t assist with changes, bag up clothes, and just send a note at the end of the day. Shit happens. Literally.

  • Seriously, that seems heartless of them.
  • I hear you guys, totally do.  It’s really based on the school.  My mom is a principal of a Catholic school and and teachers are not changing accidents there BUT her school nurse will step in and help.  I asked if the nurse at this school would help change him but nope.

They WILL help with a pee accident though...something about the poop I guess is too much...

i know it is upsetting...He Does pretty good with the potty but like I wish they wouldn’t leave him in it if it’s #2.  Thankfully I do have family near by that can swing by and get him otherwise I’d be likeeeee welp I’m an hour away so if you wanna smell his poops for an hour that’s all you.

turns out this happened while he was napping...he did say he had to go to the bathroom but it was too late.

Anyway, I’m hoping it won’t happen a lot or I’m just gonna have to re-evaluate this school.  It’s unrealistic of me to think he just won’t poop in school ever......

That’s unreal @danixbanani24. If you have a bunch of small children in your school, all kinds of gross accidents will most likely happen on a regular basis and you should be equipped to deal with it. Anything else is unacceptable. It’s just little kid poop, not waste from a nuclear plant.

    Stuck in the stupid box...
Anyways, my bump decided to pop pretty quickly and dramatically.  Turns out the little one is literally sitting on my bladder with feet pushing out. But a person who I have met once saw my bump said awwww I need to hug you. Ran amd hugged me before anything could be said. I stood frozen like an akward tree...

  • Mine was rubbing essential oils around your neck will help you find love. hey! FAKE health news?!  :D I love my EOs (anyone else?!)
  • @ohsunnydays Oh yeah I love essential oils. I've got eucalyptus blasting to help kick this cold right now
  • @BourbonBiscuits yesss. about the EO not your cold. Young Living? Doterra? none of the above?

The best decision I ever made was buying ugg boots for the winter months of pregnancy. they're easy to put on and take off and so soft. I even got slippers to constantly wear around the house just to have the extra comfort.

Possible UO: I think EOs are hokey and not a substitution for real medical treatment, but they usually smell okay so there’s that.
I agree they arent a substitute for medical treatment, I do think they are good for things like calming and sleeping and whatnot.
  • @danixbanani24 that aide sounds like a true gem!
  • @BourbonBiscuits send your cousin my way! I'll always take a compliment  :D

@hannahbananas11 right, MIL, because obviously clothes not from the registry CAN'T be used again  :|
  • @danixbanani24 that's ridiculous! If they're young enough that they're still napping, how can they not expect any accidents?? That's crazy to me. I'm thankful DD is still in daycare I guess!

@notthecheat she is kind of the best. Every time I talk to her I'm like "hell yeah, I AM a goddess of fertility and nutrition for my babe"
