Chart Stalk/Questions - September

Re: Chart Stalk/Questions - September

  • @coco2787 Thanks for sharing that, I did not know about calcium blocking Iron. The vitamin I was taking did not have calcium but it doesn't say anything about being food-based, so that could be the issue too. Thanks for the tip on the Megafood pnv though, I really like their iron supplement.

  • Ladies, what can you tell me about pre-seed and CM?

I haven't had any semblance of EWCM in months, and although I was an-o that whole time I didn't really think anything of it. But now that my cycles are starting to be more regulated as I work on balancing my hormones, I'm wondering if I should consider supplementing with pre-seed to give his swimmers their best chance to reach the finish line. I've never needed lube in place of arousal fluid but as I learn more about CM I'm realizing that it serves a dual purpose not just for lubrication for DTD but also to help the sperm reach the egg.

I do have some patches of "wet" CM but it is still a cloudy/lotiony consistency, versus thick/sticky/creamy the rest of my cycle.

  • @kiki047 you might be interested in ToConceive which is an fda approved topical treatment that increases fertile cm over time. Its in my amazon shopping cart right now and sounds promising! On Preseed I’ve heard it just impedes sperm less than other lubricant normally would but it still can slow them down.

Eta: talking about the vitamin makers, not you :D

  • @meatballs37 DH swears vitamins are useless. He use to listen to a lot of NPR and heard something one day that the only vitamin proven to be effective is D. I dont know how true it is, never looked into it. I'll keep popping whatever my doc tells me **shrugs**

Temping question here: MH woke up at 2:30 AM today (I didn’t know it was 2:30 and temped). Realized it was 2:30 went I went pee. I went back to sleep for 3+ hrs. Temped again. The times are below:

    2:30AM: 97.23
    5:40AM: 97.63

both temps are a shift up from yesterday. Question is - is 3 hrs enough time to get a decent read and is it reasonable to expect a temp difference of .4 over 3 hrs?

  • @chichiphin according to TCOYF, 3 hours is all you need to get an accurate read. She also writes that on average, you can expect your temp to rise about 0.2 degrees per hour. It seems accurate to me!
  • Okay that is reassuring :) and thank you @riff323

  • @chichiphin I think the 540 temp is accurate. I think we had pretty much the same morning except I didn't temp at first wake  :D . My temp was right around where I expected to be dispite having that 230 walk around the house.
  • Also reassuring @prpl11butterfly ! Haha yeah I think it is becoming a reflex to temp when either the dogs or the husband wakes me up!

  • @prpl11butterfly I kind of agree with your DH about vitamins and try and focus on diet.  I do take them, but my obgyn says “just go get some from target.”  Good enough for me!

and @chichiphin, I would definitely go with the second temp, assuming that you don’t usually wake around 2:30.  Off chance you do, I would go with whatever temp is closed to your normal temping time.

  • @chichiphin looks very convincing to me! That’s how my chart looked last month. Two positive OPKs, with my temp spike happening on day two of the pos OPK. The Hurd day my OPK was neg. fc for you! Looks like your timing was spot on.

  • This cycle is so bizarre. I'm on CD29. I wasn't sure that I ovulated because of rocky BBT and no +OPK, but no AF in sight and already going 3 days beyond what I expected. I felt like I was going to get AF last week but she never showed; however, all BFNs. CM and CP make me think that either I'm gearing up for another possible ovulation or I'm going to have a weirdly long period with no explanation. Doing OPKs and BD again just in case but holy moly this is frustrating.
