I had the absolute WORST night last night. Terrible diarrhea and gas that had me literally crying in pain. I’d fall asleep, then wake up and stay up for an hour. Lack of sleep made me so anxious that I had a panic attack and massive sensory overload because my husband turned our fan on high. It was all so, so bad. I think I slept maybe 3 hours, which is a far cry from my pre-pregnancy days of 8-9 hour nights. I kept talking to my belly asking for the baby to take it easy on me! I’d like to think he heard me, because I had a great day at work and I’m feeling pretty solid right now. I never thought I’d be so excited for probiotics and metamucil, but here we are. Can’t wait to start taking them tomorrow. I hope my system finally regulates a bit.
I feel you on the first trimester sucks comment!! This is my first pregnancy, so I have nothing to compare it to. But my nausea and extreme food aversions started for week5. I thought that was mighty early!!! I try so hard to eat since an actual meal makes me feel better, but I'm disgusted by everything!! I have to eat on a whim (always out, can't prepare anything at home). I am grateful that I am not throwing up at this point, but the feeling is indescribable. I came to the group hoping to get some tips, but also to know that this feeling is normal-- and it is ok to not enjoy this part of the pregnancy and still be a good mom (and potentially have another in the future).
Thank you! I feel like I could relate to your comments!
@knottie33e7aaded0fd585f Yes, not enjoying pregnancy doesn’t mean you’re not a good mom. And once baby is born, it’s ok not to enjoy every moment of parenting.
Hi everyone I'm having severe morning - all day sickness . I throw up everything I eat from 9am to 1pm and rest of the day I refuse to eat. I'm tired of being sick !! And I fall asleep randomly !! Feel so tired !! Any other mom's this bad ..?? Crackers and toast don't even stay down
Massive headache today so much so that I'm staying at home because I do not feel like getting into my work truck today and driving anywhere. I'm trying to refuse to feel guilty for taking a day off. Sore boobs are still here as is fatigue but the main thing today is the pounding in my head that won't go away.

Yep.
Also I don’t know anyone who enjoys potty training.

The only thing I enjoyed about PT was eating all the Skittles we bought as a reward.
@MRDCle right there with ya. I've had waves of nausea that have now escalated to gagging in the shower this morning. Not looking forward to the next step...

I am having a hard time eating healthy....nothing sounds good! It is taking a village to ensure I eat healthy, I have found d that I'm less nauseous when I do. Any one have any healthy eating habit tricks out there?
Agreed that it is totally fine not to love pregnancy. The first trimester sucks. I think a lot of people would disagree with me, but I think it is worse than the third. Once I got past the constant nausea at about 16 weeks (which is a little later than most, don't worry!), I actually did start to enjoy my pregnancy. Before that, I had a really hard time with how I was feeling - being nauseated all of the time can really make you miserable, so then I felt ungrateful and guilty. Plus it can be hard to focus on the excitement when you're using all of your [limited] energy trying not to barf on your desk at work all day. Once the first trimester fog lifted I realized I was putting way too much pressure on myself to enjoy every single moment, and now I am actually able to look back at most of my pregnancy fondly! Hang in there, mamas, it really does get better.
@Piccola1988 thank you for that! This is my first (and only) pregnancy at 38. You think I'd be over the moon.....and I am, but I just don't feel too excited right now. It is taking all my strength to not think about food - which is hard because I'm starving all the time - because the thought of food makes me want to puke! And I'm soooo tired. And all I crave is junk. Give me a burger - and not a made-at-home-burger - I want a greasy fast food burger!
@rennie1108 that sounds about right! Thinking about grease all day, nothing else sounds good, and then most of it makes you feel worse afterwards anyway. I am lucky I didn't give birth to a slice of pizza with mozzarella sticks for limbs the first time around!
One hack I figured out was that even though I was craving grease and nauseated by even just the smell of a lot of healthier stuff, I did feel a little better when I could get some down. I had a really hard time with cooked vegetables, so I would eat them raw, dipped in yummy dressings.
My emotions are so crazy. I started crying for absolutley no reason and felt like an idiot

I ended up with shingles at like 16 or so weeks last time. I also ended up with the worst case of GD my specialist had ever seen. I had to give myself shots in the belly 4 times a day from like 13 weeks on and I was on a special 1800 calorie diet. Plus the finger pricking to check levels constantly. I also hemorrhaged during labor and ended up back in the hospital with vertigo at like 2 days pp.
I did NOT enjoy my last pregnancy. It was worth but it really really sucked.

The nausea just hit as I was trying to eat lunch. It is now really grossing me out and I have to eat it for two more days this week...might have to stop making a week’s worth of lunches.
Its' early for me, EDD 4/29, so my only real symptom has been being tired! It doesn't help my 21 month old still wakes 1-2 times at night. I'm hoping she starts sleeping through before we add a newborn to the mix! Hoping for more symptoms in the coming weeks, so this feels more real.
Edited to add: Oh, the cramping! That can go away any time now...

Today has been really bad with the nausea and exhaustion. The only time I feel ok-ish is when I’m laying down, but that’s hard to do with a toddler intent on climbing/flinging himself off furniture. I ended up putting him down for a nap an hour early because I just needed to lay down and I felt really guilty for putting my needs before his, but this kid just took a 2.5 hour nap! He doesn’t seem any worse for wear, so I’m taking that as a major win for the day!
@wearegroot never feel guilty for taking care of yourself. Remember the oxygen mask on the airplane? If you don’t put on your own oxygen mask first, you can’t take care of someone else. Your child is best served when you are feeling well and whole and taken care of. You’re setting two great examples for your child - one is that they aren’t the center of the world and other ppl than themselves have needs, and two, that self-care is important. Hopefully when they grow up they’ll remember to be compassionate toward others, while practicing self care. I hate mom guilt. but I’ll get off my soapbox now.
Why, oh why, are my boobs not sore yet? And I feel like they're deflated! My boobs aren't even the slightest bit sore. Has anyone else experienced this (or not experienced the sore boobs) at 6 1/2 weeks?
I'm super excited because my doc office just called back and my progesterone test results came back okay! no need for supplements. I figured with the nausea I've had that it would be okay, but I've been so paranoid since my loss. So relieved!
I’ve seen a few mommas post about bad headache/migraines. I suffer from migraines terrible both when pregnant and when not My first pregnancy was basically a 39 week migraine. It was awful. The second time(and now third) I was on 400mg of magnesium which made an amazing difference. In fact even when not pregnant I don’t even have to take prescription migraine med anymore. Obviously talk with your doctor before taking anything but I just wanted to help some other mommas out since I know your pain Also stay hydrated and eat some protein and bananas. An ice pack on your neck, and a heating pad on your forward helps as well.
I was able to (mostly) keep the nausea at bay today. I took some snacks to work with me and just had a little bit of cheese, apples and pretzels, and ginger ale throughout the day and that really seemed to help. But DH picked up Chinese food for dinner, and I'm not handling the smell very well right now.
My morning sickness has ramped up a notch from queasy nausea feeling to me having to run to the bathroom 2 mins after finishing my breakfast as I was so close to throwing up.
Happened yesterday after lunch too. Not fun!!
My boobs were super sore last week but that has settled a bit thankfully and my sore lower back from 2 weeks ago has gone for now, but I am feeling very tired in the mid mornings, making it so hard to concentrate at work.
My cravings for chocolate and carbs are intense!
Had healthy zucchini slice at work for lunch yesterday and just the thought of eating it made me want to throw up, all I wanted was peanut butter toast (an old favourite before I started weight watchers 3 months ago). Decided to give in and trotted to shops for multigrain rolls and PB and was one if the best things I have ever eaten. So I madenthe mistake of having 2....big meals are the enemy I have discovered!
I love seeing everyone's symptoms! It's like a safe zone where people don't attack you for talking about what you're experiencing!
My symptoms are actually very mild so far- I'm in a great mood, still able to exercise regularly although I have started taking a midday 20 minute nap, some bloating, but the main thing is some serious breast discomfort and the onset of low blood pressure and dizziness!
Re: Symptoms week of 8/20
I have round ligament pain already though - ugh. I sneezed yesterday and it hurt so bad.
Main symptom is fatigue and weird food issues. Plus I get faint if I don't eat every 4-6hrs! Very unusual for me.
I never thought I’d be so excited for probiotics and metamucil, but here we are. Can’t wait to start taking them tomorrow. I hope my system finally regulates a bit.

I hate mom guilt. but I’ll get off my soapbox now.
DH keeps calling my belly a "she." Since we have 2 boys and this has been so much worse. Pretty much every symptom.
Only 6 more..... weeks.
@rennie1108 I don’t have sore boobs either, which is really weird because I weaned DS right as I got pregnant so I was expecting to be extra sore.
@professormama thanks for that. I definitely need the oxygen mask reminder now and then!
