Next Friday is my next ultrasound, then I'm booted to the OB.

Thoughts/Concerns?
Went looking at baby items over the weekend...so overwhelming! Just looking at car seats alone 

Questions:
When did you start buying baby gear, etc? I know it's super early and I'm a FTM, so it's just fun looking / researching at this time.

@kristimh80 last time I was preg with my daughter I ended up not buying anything ever. haha but I did start my registry after my anatomy scan. that's when I felt more comfortable. so buy whenever you feel comfortable. :-) and if you need help with stuff or have questions please feel free to PM me. :-)

Nausea is here, but it's not too bad. I seem to see-saw between being really hungry and slightly nauseated.

First u/s on Wed!

Thoughts/Concerns?
Very nervous about the u/s and I really hope we're going to hear that things are progressing okay! We're also going to find out whether it's a single or multiples. I had four follicles at my IUI so.... gulp. 

Questions:
Any advice on choosing an OB? (This is my first pregnancy). I have a referral from my family doctor and a different referral from my RE clinic. Should I meet both of them (and do people really "shop" around for this?)  One of them is definitely closer to home so would be more convenient for appointments. They each deliver at different specific hospitals, so that's another consideration. It seems nuts to be thinking about the delivery setting when I haven't even heard a heartbeat yet lol.

@scikap I'd ask friends with kids if they have any suggestions as well. I got lucky and my dr ended up being a buyer for my company. I already liked her, so was an easy thing. Def check reviews online as well, esp if there's a certain hospital you may prefer to deliver at. The one closest to your home sounds ideal, but if you really like one doctor over another, then that doesn't matter as much Also ask around about hospital / delivery time. I know the hospital I'm going to be at has an hour or 2 of quiet time daily. So no visitors, so you can get some rest, plus they serve lobster dinners and really go all out for mama's!

How far along are you? / EDD I am 12 weeks and 5 days. Getting excited to get to 13 weeks, even though it really won't be much different than today!

How are you feeling? I have good days and bad days still. Hoping the nausea really gets better soon- maybe it will be magic at 13 weeks- i can wish

Any recent/upcoming appointments? I had my NT scan last week and I got the call today that the bloodwork all came back as low risk as they give, so that is a relief. I don't have another appoint until 15 weeks, so its gonna be a long 2.5 more weeks! Still debating about getting my friends doppler.

Thoughts/Concerns? We are starting to tell more friends and family, just because at this point I would rather try than pretend to fake drink at a concert or at our river tubing friends event this saturday.

Questions: No questions, except who wants to take over this board?! haha its such a great group of ladies- can't wait to all be in second tri together!!

@Kristimh80- Last night i just NEEDED a blue raspberry Icee, so we went to Target and I made DH look at baby stuff for the first time ever. Normally I avoid that area like the plague, but it was fun to do a 5 min drive by last night. I was mainly looking at crib colors as I start to think about nursery design. As far as picking out (arguably) more important things like car seats and strollers, I think I am going to talk to my friends that are moms and see what they have and like. I will probably register shortly after our anatomy scan.

@drove2u- i think its hard when I don't feel pregnant besides the horrible nausea, so I can imagine what it would be like to have no nauesea at all! Glad you have an appt on Wed

@scikap- I would def think about what hospital you want and then make sure which OBs are in your network. I had a friend in the area who went thru alot of IVF and i went to the OB practice she had gone to since I knew they were patient like high maintenance patients like me. I think personal refferals mean alot. Also some practices are bigger/smaller and have you see all doctors since they don't know who will be on call when you deliver. SOmething else to think about.

@JamieH2000 Excited for you to graduate to 2nd trimester!! We will be sad to see you go! Def go ahead and tell your close friends...nothing worse than trying to keep the secret while they are begging you to try their drink or when they get hammered and assume you are too lol I can help some with this thread. Between the few of us, someone is liable to get it going. I have a "bump addiction", so it wouldn't go unnoticed Yes, I've been researching cribs as well. Car seats / strollers is crazy to think about. Of course I like all of them that are a million dollars, though it seems cheap compared to IVF lol

@kristimh80- it was fun telling some of my best friends this weekend before they concert. I told them I was going to pick the DD Out of a hat but then one of them absolutely refused to drive haha so I was like fine I’ll drive since I can’t drink and they went crazy. For our tubing event this weekend it’s alot of DHs friends who have not always been nice during this journey (like constantly asking if I was drinking, etc) so I wouldn’t normally tell them but at 13.5 Weeks I’m over faking it. I also agree that although the baby stuff seems expensive I also think about how another transfer would have been like $4k so then it doesn’t seem so expensive at all!

@JamieH2000 Good to hear your friends were happy for you! Hate to hear how DH's buddies have been to you over the whole journey. My DH's family were haggle me about drinking, like trying to figure it all out whether I am or not. I don't drink much as it is...so was comical in a way. Yes...I keep telling myself, if we can get baby gear less than the cost of a transfer, we are winning! lol

Everything went great. Baby even waved. 8 weeks 4 days today and the baby is measuring exactly that. I Go back next Wednesday for last RE appointment and ultrasound.

@Drove2u So good to hear everything went well today!! My last RE appt is next Friday...idk why it makes me nervous! I asked my RE already if I could just stay lol

Pretty good.. super tired, but otherwise no symptoms which makes me nervi

Tomorrow is my first US! So anxious. Then my follow up with RE is Monday and I think that's when I get the boot from my clinic. I agree with many of the women here that I wish I could stay with them forever.. 

Thoughts/Concerns?
Just a random thing but I found thong panty liners today for these stupid suppositories and got super excited. I then realized how excited I was getting over panty liners and promptly shamed myself.

Questions:
Please just send me all your positive vibes for tomorrows ultrasound, I am so nervous that there won't be anything going on in there. I know that's probably a similar experience to all of you, which makes me feel better that I'm not like disproportionately crazy (or maybe we just all are..)
ALSO.. What app is everyone using to track pregnancy?

Everything was great at my u/s today - measuring on track and we saw a heartbeat. So relieved! (at least until the next time anxiety comes crashing in!) DH and I sat down and had a proper celebration for the first time. 
Next u/s will be in two weeks (at 9 weeks, 1 day).

@leilee101 fx for a great u/s tomorrow!
ps. I've been using the Ovia pregnancy app. It's pretty cute and gives you daily and weekly updates on baby's development. It also has options to track your activity, diet, etc if you want.

Anyone have days where they are constantly cold? I know it's my crazy hormones, but I thought my co-worker was going to freeze me out of the office today at 73 degrees. She didn't like my idea of 75

@kristimh80- I’m always cold in AC but otherwise have been feeling on the warmer side in non AC which I think is normal.

i have the bump app and the glow app- not really looking at them too much, mainly bc I was to terrified until recently. I want to start taking bump pictures but no real bump here yet, just bloat still haha

@JamieH2000 Ditto...good to hear it's probably normal. Same here...nothing to see but "bloat". In the mornings I feel skinny but by bedtime I have a fake bump aka bloating lol

I am freaking out a little bit. There was a sac and a fetal pole, but they said it was measuring at 6w1d (I thought I was closer to 7 weeks) and there is no yolk. The heartbeat is also very low at 89. My insurance made me go to a hospital for this scan instead of my clinic (long story), so it was just some random ultra sound tech telling me all this. I don't even know what a yolk is, but it seems important. To top it all off, they don't even allow husbands in the room so I told him to not even come, and now I'm at work about to cry and wish he were here.

@leilee101 ((hugs)) I'm sorry, I know how frustrated you are right now. Plus, that ultrasound tech may not been 100% correct if she isn't use to doing ultrasounds this early or a fertility doctor. I know my RE said they like to see the baby measurements within a 5 day span, so don't freak out too much. I was measuring a day behind as well. The baby is so tiny right now, that it can be difficult to get a really accurate measurement. Is your doctor supossed to get back in touch with you to review it all?

@leilee101 deep breaths.  What day are you supposed to be?  7 weeks or 6+ something?  Did they do vaginal or external US?  Definitely ask to go back in a few days or a week to recheck - maybe it was just an “off” day and things are really better than the view they got.  I don’t think I need to remind you of my history.  And lots of hugs to you because I know how stressed you are.

@kristimh80 and @mayflower513 .. based on my transfer date (7/16) I thought I was 7 weeks 1 day. They did both ultrasounds, she saw the gestational sac in the external and had me empty my bladder and go back in with the trans vaginal. That's where she saw the "crown to rump" measuring at 6w1d, and looked for a while but could not find a yolk sac. I left a message for my clinic and still have not heard back, I am sure they will just have me come back next week to remeasure, and I already have an appt with my doctor booked for Monday. I wish I just paid OOP to go to my clinic, I bet their machines are better and they are better training for early pregnancy detection. ughhh

@leilee101 I'm sure you'll hear back from someone today. Maybe they'll be able to squeeze you in by tomorrow. You're right, I believe they are better quiiped for ivf patients being so early.

@leilee101 hopefully your clinic calls you ASAP and gets you in soon so you’re not just waiting forever.  Are they usually pretty prompt?

@leilee101- I'm so sorry that is so scary I really hope your RE can get you in right away! Whatever it costs, its worth it! I think there is still hope if there is a HB! a HB of 89 is actually right on track for 6w1d, but I also understand the concern since you know when you transferred and how far it should be measuring at this point. Sending prayers and keep us posted.

They always get back to me by the end of the day, I'm at work with my phone on super loud so I won't miss their call! I am trying not to google but also want to understand what a yolk sac is, it seems like it's the thing that helps to form a fetus - I don't understand how there can be a fetal pole without one. I really need them to call me because because google will be the death of me! Thanks for all the positive vibes ladies..

@leilee101 the yolk sac is basically what feeds the baby until the placenta forms/takes over.  They didn’t see one at my 6.5 week US either but it was there...
