I received the report from the A/S over the weekend. Apparently this LO is "unremarkable." Since it's the radiologist saying that, I'll take it as a good thing haha
I wanted to add a funny thing that happened. The tech said he was moving all over the place and asked me what I had before hand, it was a coffee, granola bar, and a few M&Ms and basically said sugar and caffeine are a techs nemesis. Lol when he got to Vinny's hand the tech was like "it looks like he's got his hand out asking for more M&Ms!"
I am 18 Weeks today with twins. I have my scan on Thursday. We are hoping and praying that everything goes smoothly. Babies have been doing great so far!
I had my anatomy scan today and everything looked Great! Baby boy was super stubborn and the tech had to poke at him a lot to get him to flip over. I am so relieved that this scan looked good considering I have been spotting on and off. Hopefully its just due to a sensitive cervix. His heart looked good too which is really good considering I have sjogren's which can cause heart block. They will still monitor him but feeling good so far.
Our little peanut did NOT want to cooperate, but the techs were able to get everything they needed and said all measurements and development are right on track! We opted out of any genetic testing, so we were a little nervous going into this, without any prior indication of risk. We are very relieved to hear we’ve got a healthy baby.
Also confirmed what the old wives’ tales and my mom-tuition were telling me: it’s a girl!

LOL! This reminds me of DD’s scan: she was not moving AT ALL. Tech actually had me get Sprite and Snickers from the vending machine. We took a 15 min break and after having them, DD was moving all over the place.
So short version - AS was today and everything they were able to see looks good! Unfortunately there were a few things they couldn't get pictures of and overall because of her position the pictures they got weren't that great. So we'll go back again in 4 weeks and repeat the scan. Hoping that because what they did see today looked good that there won't be any surprises next month! Oh also my placenta is actually posterior - which I had been starting to suspect. I assumed anterior because I felt her kind of late for a STM. But once I started feeling her it didn't stop and the movements are strong. So the posterior placenta explains that.

@BitterBetty12 sorry you have to worry for another 4 weeks. The good news is everything they did see looked good, it's now just a matter of seeing the rest of the good stuff, which I'm sure you will. I'm also happy to hear your placenta in posterior this time! Hopefully you'll enjoy all the baby movements this go round!
@BitterBetty12 Sorry your A/S wasn't the sigh of relief you were looking for, but great news that what they did see was normal. I have no doubt you'll get more good results at your next scan
AFM, I finally got my A/S results. My OB went on vacation right after my scan and his office is closed until September so I hadn't heard a peep. I called the imaging centre yesterday and asked them to forward the results to my GP and she called me this morning. My cervix is closed and length is 3.8 cm which is good. Everything with baby's bones and organs looks good too. They did see a small dark spot in the left ventricle of the heart (isolated echogenic focus) which can, along with other findings, be a marker for DS, but because there were no other abnormalities noted, my NT scan was clear, and my NIPT was low risk, they're not worried. The same thing happened with DS and when I went for a follow-up u/s the spot was gone (which apparently is pretty common according to my doctor). I'm not worried.
Does anyone have any experience with Marginal Placental Cord Insertion? This is the only other thing they mentioned. Apparently the umbilical cord is attached to the edge of the placenta instead of in the middle where it's supposed to be. This can cause growth restriction in utero so I have a placental doppler in 2 weeks and then a growth u/s btwn 28-30 weeks to make sure baby is growing enough. Funny enough, I had minor placental concerns with DS (for a different reason) and had weekly u/s after 34 weeks to check for IUGR. I remember reading at the time that IUGR issues are more common with boys so I wonder if baby is another boy!?!

U/S 19May - one bean measuring on track with a HB of 125! EDD: 07Jan2019 Team Green My Rainbow Baby Boy born 03Jan2019
I had my A/S this morning. Everything looked really good. They were not able to see her face due to the position she was in, but all the important stuff was as expected. We get to have another scan at our next appointment in 4 weeks to try to see that, which is fun! I was a little sad they didn’t print us out any of the pictures. I guess maybe because there was no face to show so they figured we didn’t care as much? I’ll make sure to ask next time even if they can’t see her face again!
A/S today went great. Baby boy is as good as can be. We got the cutest picture of him flexing his bicep ( go check out the US pic thread). And the best news is that my SCH is gone. It completely resolved itself in 3 weeks. I am so relieved!
Baby B has a multicystic dysplatic kidney. His other kidney looks great and he has plenty of fluid, so they know the other one is functioning well, but this means more monitoring for me and well as more monitoring for him once he is born.
Baby girl is measuring right on track and is a super low rider just like her sister. Unfortunately, my cervix is measuring short (2cm) and I have to start progesterone and modified activity. I was not expecting it since I have no history or symptoms and I was very upset to hear I'm not allowed to pick up DD. DH can pick her up and hand her off to me though which makes me feel a little bit better.
Anyone else facing short cervix treatment? I know mine is relatively minor but still not ideal.
@parentingishard what progesterone are they starting you on? Makena? If so, I take the autoinjector shots 1x/wk to prevent premature labor and they suck. I have some tips/tricks to dull the burn if it happens to be the same meds they put you on, just let me know!
@parentingishard I had a very similar issue with DD. At my anatomy scan at 20 weeks, my cervix looked great (I think 4.5cm), and at the follow up scan five weeks later, my cervix was down to 2.3cm and I was put on strict bed rest (which was then lightened to modified activity after I saw the MFM who wasn't as concerned as my OB had been). I was on progesterone suppositories from week 25-37. I know how hard it is to feel just fine but have to take it easy! Hang in there!
I started Progesterone from 11 weeks because I lost the last baby at 17 weeks from cervical incompetence. So far so good, and my Dr allows me to have my cervix checked as often as I'm comfortable with. I have my AS Monday and we'll check on it again. We have a farm and 9 kiddos and square dance for fun, so I'm hoping I won't have to modify my activities. I use the suppositories, my Dr was going to give me the Malena shots but I asked for the suppositories instead.
Had our AS yesterday. Baby girl's heart rate was measuring a bit high, OB said it wasn't too bad but that we'd keep an eye on it. Baby boy has excess fluid on/in kidneys, but OB said it's common with boys & that they'll check back on it at the next appointment. All other measures were pretty standard and healthy. They do think that both babies have an extra toe, though, but they were a little squirmy so it was hard to tell. I know that it's pretty common on my paternal side & my SO's paternal side, so I'm not surprised or concerned really lol.
eta: Next appointment is Sept. 17 so we'll see how they look then.
@BitterBetty12 same thing happened to me... 2 weeks ago I went for my scan and little girl wedged her head so low they couldn’t see the brain structures at all. So we went back Friday and got the rest! I was shocked at how hard it is for them to scan a baby. I asked if my baby was just particularly acrobat and both techs said nope! @tosh24 I have heard of that but don’t know more than what you’ve said. They are watching my placenta because it’s close to the cervix (not previa or partial previa) but my doc isn’t worried and says it’ll probably go as the Ute grows. Maybe it’s another boy for you!! Hope the cord isn’t an issue
@dragonette505 ah I’m so happy to hear your good news! And it’s also a little reassuring to hear that I’m not alone and you had to go back again as well. I know it happens to people. It happened to my best friend with her daughter. But as you know PGAL brain leads to worst case thoughts.

We had our first ultrasound yesterday (at 20 weeks!). Just got results from doctor that all looks good with Baby Boy. Happy that we didn’t have to wait all weekend for results!
@dragonette505 I'm so freaking happy that things are going so well for you!
AFM: Anatomy scan went perfectly except for DH almost puking. Seeing the baby move on the ultrasound makes his stomach do acrobatics. Little girl looks perfect. I really like how my practice does it. Rather than having it done at the OB's office they refer you to the MFM (all part of the same hospital group). The ultrasound tech does everything and then the MFM reviews immediately so you have results before you even leave.
@BitterBetty12 my doc was careful to tell me not to read anything into needing a second pass, but obviously I spent two weeks studying all this stuff like a pre med student! Lol @cait32 I’ve followed you too! Lol (I’m still stalking infertility and ttgp) @KariAnn323 omg! I that’s an awesome story to tell the little one later.... papa got queasy watching your barrel rolls!
Had the AS last week and got results as we sat there. Everything looks good with baby boy and some of the head measurements are leading us to believe this will be a rough delivery on me again. So weird to think that now the doctors visits get (hopefully) boring and we just kinda sit and wait, no more peeks inside or anything for twenty weeks!
Had my scan today. Everything looked good with the baby, but apparently I have a single umbilical artery (normal cord has two arteries and one vein). The doctor was reassuring, but the risks as far as I’ve learned are that the baby may not grow properly and there’s also an increased risk of still birth. They said it’s a “common” thing but 1 out of a 100 doesn’t feel common to me. I’ll be going in for ultrasounds every four weeks to monitor his growth. He’s measuring right where he should be so far so that’s good, but I can’t help but feel anxious.
He was bouncing around in there like crazy. I guess this just isn’t going to be an uneventful pregnancy.
aww @julesf817 I'm sorry to hear this, how stressfull! I'll be thinking of you. It's a great sign that he's growing right on schedule and bopping around
@jules817 I can only imagine how stressful and anxiety inducing that is to hear. The good news is you'll be closely monitored and hopefully reassured every time. We are all here to listen if you ever need to let it all out!
I had our a/s last night and baby boy was so cooperative! The tech was able to get some really good shots of him and he definitely wasn't shy showing off his boy parts. He's measuring a week ahead and they estimate him to weigh 14 oz right now which I know can be inaccurate, but ds1 was always ahead and weighed a good weight for a preemie. I'm feeling relieved and am just waiting to hear from my ob once she gets the results.
We had ours this morning and everything looks fine! We do have to do a fetal echocardiogram in a few weeks since this is an IVF baby, but they didn’t see an cause for concern today. And we successfully stayed Team Green!
The baby was being very active, which was especially great to see since I still haven’t felt any movement. It was really reassuring to see that the baby was clearly moving and fine even though I didn’t feel it. (The doctor says “soon” but also that the position of my placenta is probably the reason why I haven’t felt it yet...trying to be patient, sigh.)
@Augusta108 I have an anterior placenta and I haven't really felt him move at all. I felt him kick the tech, but if that's the normal movement feeling then that was the one and only time. I feel like i'm being patient only because I'm forced too.
AS went great!!!! DS was compliant, adorable, and nothing was wrong I have an anterior placenta, too, and feel limited movement. I feel general bumps and and then in the front, and I'm starting to feel kicks more off to the sides, where I'm guessing there's no placenta.
Re: anterior placenta- this is my second pregnancy and second anterior placenta- They always say that second time moms feel the baby much sooner but I didn’t really start feeling anything until about a week ago (I’m 20.5w now) and it’s very infrequent (1-3x/day). AS showed a very active baby - and the doc has even said the kid is kicking around when they try to get the hb at a regular appt - but I couldn’t feel any of that. I know the movement can be very reassuring for a lot of people but I got irritated w it pretty quickly last time. If you get a strong mover the kicks and punches can be painful and very distracting.
