Weekly Appointments 7/16

Re: Weekly Appointments 7/16

  • Met with OB yesterday, 33 week appointment. Everything was good, asked the OB about my weight gain she said "Well you were not over weight at all before pregnancy but you are on the line of overweight with being pregnant. I'm not worried at all, but my colleagues might be more stricter than me. Just keep eating healthy." So now I'm freaking out about gaining anymore weight other than the half a pound till my girl is here... maybe it's my hormones but I took it pretty hard after leaving that office...
Have my last 2 week appointment on the 30th along with an ultrasound then it's on to the weekly appointments!

  • @mrsPNW my baby had the skipped beats on the Doppler a while back (time is blurry at this point, maybe 20-22 weeks?) and an ultrasound said it was premature atrial contractions. They also said it was likely just developmental and would resolve, but often comes and goes until the birth with no harm. They haven’t heard it again, though! Every time they’ve checked it’s been all good!  Hope it’s the same for you!

  • @adirat I read that as not scheduling any c-sections that aren't medically necessary? And simply having had a prior c-section doesn't make another one medically necessary. That's actually a pretty good policy to have IMO. If the same hospital routinely performs episiotomies on everyone, though, I start really questioning their policy-making decisions! @mrsman2018 feel free to correct me if I misinterpreted that

  • @mrsPNW were you laying down kind of? I nearly passed out during an ultrasound Monday, and will need to be sitting up more for my weekly ultrasounds from now on.

  • @EErin86 - You got your rhogam in your arm? Did anyone else? Mine has always gone in a butt muscle.

  • @DanyTargaryen my rhogam always goes in the butt too. I think they’ve offered the arm
if I really wanted but said the butt hurts way less so they recommend it.

  • @DanyTargaryen @EErin86 I wondered the same thing! I got mine in the bum too and it wasn't sore at all!

  • @adirat I totally understand what you're saying, and I was thinking about some of those things after I posted. It makes me curious how they determine it to be necessary, and if they would do a scheduled CS if say, after discussion with the mother the OB recommends it. It's obviously not something that people just decide to call up the hospital and schedule as their own idea anyways. So I guess what I really like about it is the idea of treating VBAC as the norm, which relatively few places seem to do. The lack of choice for the mother is troubling.

Mine went in my like hip/side this last time. The notch of something. Seemed like a weird place to me but it was the latest recommendation so that's what they did.
It was either butt or arm last pregnancy and I couldn't tell you which to save my life.
