I don't know if it counts because it's not medical but just had an appointment with my doula! We went over labor and delivery, pain relieving techniques, etc. It is both terrifying and exciting (to get it over with honestly)!
Awaiting my 33 week check up on Friday with my doc, hoping to get our ECV scheduled for 3 weeks from then!

Have my 32 week appt tomorrow and hospital tour on Saturday. DS is going to have a sleep over at my parents Friday night since the tour is in the morning. DH and I are planning date night for Friday since we’ve got him covered.
Just saw my GI doc here in Cali for initial consult. Her nurse is now working on scheduling the infusion that I’ll need within a few days of birth. Timing that is a cluster... not great to get in 3rd tri but also not good to delay too long after birth or I can develop antibodies
I have my 32 week OB appt in 1.5 hours- I get to finally meet the OB who is supposed to deliver my baby! Then a growth scan on Thursday.
@pourmeamocktail. Oh my! They are planning for the ECV already??? :# I guess better to have the apt and not need it, than need it and have trouble getting in...
@dexnie oh boy, that does sound like a scheduling nightmare. But that's so great you know who will be catching your baby! We get who we get here, whoever's on call....
32 week Ob apt Tuesday, followed by Chiropractor for an evaluation and my first adjustment using Webster technique. Hope we can get this sweet baby to flip!!!
@BusinessWife I have a special situation. My first was stuck breech, engaged to pelvis from 28 weeks on, did everything but the ECV from 30-35 weeks, no change, baby didn't even try to go transverse. Then I went full labor at 35+4. This one has been stuck breech and engaged in pelvis since 29 weeks...so we're not hopeful for me-I've not had a head down baby ever, not even a day.
Normally they prefer to do versions between 37&38 weeks, because baby is full term but small enough that turn is likely to be successful. If you wait too long, especially if you're first time mom, or very short torso, it's less likely to work. Or if you know that the chances of baby still being inside aren't high (my case!). So I'm pressuring doc to version a week earlier than usual due to last time not even making it to 36 weeks.
Avoiding a section is very very important to me after on previous birth. I really want to exhaust all other options first. With my severe SPD the chiropractor isn't feasible for me.

33 week appt on Friday. Ultrasound and OB appt. Will discuss being induced on Sept 4, if she's not here by Sept 3. Several people I'm close to say it seems as if I'll deliver before then.
@smsaulino are people saying you’ll go early based on anything other than how you look? Because that really, really bad indication of when baby will decide to come
@nackie nope. Just because I've measured about a week to week and a half ahead since my first ultrasound. Even when I was sick for months, she stayed on her track of being ahead. I'm just starting to gain a little weight in other areas besides my stomach. I've also felt a lot of pressure in the past two weeks but no pain.
I have another NST on Friday, and checkup with the OB. It’s a different doc than I saw last Friday, so wondering if I’ll get different input. We’re looking at 38 weeks if my blood sugars are still erratic, 39 if they’re more controlled. I want to talk about induction vs. scheduled repeat c-section, and find out how likely an induction will be successful in my situation...they’ve alluded to not very likely.
Going to an orthopedist tomorrow morning. My OB referred me because she asked how my wrists were and I burst into tears lol. I know there won't be a magical solution, but its gotten so severe that I think I need someone to look and tell me "Yes, it's normal. Yes, it will go away. No, you don't have some weird and severe permanent nerve problem." Once I know that I will feel a little better, even though I can't dress myself or even wipe myself without having to construct a creative solution to reach TMI SORRY LOL.
@ashh2018 sorry to hear your wrists are so painful. Maybe the orthopedist will have exercises that might help? I know sometimes they also make/give those support things you can strap on while sleeping that might help a bit. Good luck!
Thanks @tpeci. Yeah I have braces that I wear to sleep and for short times throughout the day. Fingers crossed she’ll have exercises that might help, good idea!
@ashh2018 I'm so sorry...pregnancy is rough. I had what effectively felt like arthritis last time, but I don't think it came anywhere near what you're experiencing. Mine did take a little bit to go away after and I felt for quite awhile like my hand strength was decreased (I am a competitive pistol shooter and didn't feel comfortable shooting even 6 months PP because I felt like I'd drop my gun after a 30-40 round stage). They didn't actively HURT PP anymore, but I didn't feel the strength was there. I really hope the orthopedist has some exercises for you now to alleviate pain, and for after to regain your strength.
And as a silver lining...I have no pain in my hands this pregnancy, and did nothing different to change that.
@Patience7150 that’s great that you have no pain this time, and that it went away last time!! Honestly I feel so silly for complaining about it so much. If this is the worst of my problems I am incredibly lucky, knock on wood!
New OB wants me to do NSTs 2x weekly starting at week 36. And of course they’re in an entirely different location that has weird scheduling rules. I guess I’ll be spending a lot of time in the car!
She also confirmed that my measuring ahead (1.5 weeks on growth scans, 2 weeks for fundal height) means nothing for predicting early or late delivery. I’m still crossing my fingers and toes for a 38-39 week arrival so H can bond before leaving for a week-long work trip.
Had my 32 week appointment. Measuring good, heart beat good, I'm borderline anemic but she said I didn't have to do extra iron supplements (also trying to keep constipation away). She's traveling at the end of August but I'm not really concerned about delivering that early (due 9/12). They ran out of rhogam shots so I have to go back and fortunately it's only 5 min from my office. Now I go in every two weeks! Eeeeek!
She also mentioned that statistically second time moms deliver earlier than in previous pregnancies
<b>Update</b>: So far, so good! Ob was very, "hi and bye," which was refreshing. She made no comment about my weight, and said, (when I asked), that fundal measurement is still a bit ahead, but not concerningly so, and that baby is growing well!
Most importantly, baby is head down!!! So let's hope they decide to stay that way. ;)
About to go to the chiropractor now, and see what she says about helping keep things in good alignment for delivery...
Had just a regular check up today. Blood pressure good and measuring correct. We talked about a RCS - DD was breech and I had one at 39 weeks. She told me that the hospital I will be delivering at does not do elective c sections - I was all mentally prepared for a RCS. Any who, I have to have a VBAC and am just trying to come to terms because I do not know what to expect. I looked through here for the vaginal birth thread, I thought I saw one a while back but I was only participating in the CS one. Can someone tag me in it if they find it? I am very anxious about a VBAC and would like to know more of what to expect - aside from Googling it. Thanks.
tpeci What were some of the pain relief techniques? @pourmeamocktail I can't remember if you had a CS before. Is that why you want to avoid a CS? DD never turned last time, like you said, not even for a day. I am wondering if this one will be like that as well. How can I tell if they turn I wonder - could I tell?? I was to apprehensive to do a version last time and I do not think I would try this time if I needed it.
ashh2018 How did the orthopedist go? I had horrible carpal tunnel last pregnancy and even had to go off work cause of it. This time it has been mild so far. Mostly just tingling in the morning and when I drive.
@mrsman2018 I am trying to a vbac, I know lots of people IRL that have had one, can't speak from personal experience yet, but I've been doing research on them for years now, and could share a lot of what I've learned, plus I do have charts of risks that show the general lower risks for most complications of vbac if you are interested. I know it's not as good as having the experience, but I wanted to offer. Also, if you check out ICAN.org online, they have a lot of info, as well as they might have a local chapter you can meet with (in person or online!) to get more vbac stories. My first was section due to breech. This baby is breech too, but my plan is vaginal breech (not for everyone of course!). I'll try to see if I can find any VBAC moms here too.

pourmeamocktail Yes, I would like any information. I am so not prepared. And I will check out that link.
Let me know if you have any specific questions you think of. I'll try to put together some general info and maybe send via PM unless someone else wants me to post it (I'm acknowledging that I'm passionate about this but I don't want to make anyone else who prefers RCS to feel uncomfortable with my flood of info, though maybe I can just post it in a spoiler, so it's available if anyone wants). To start with though this spoiler has two info graphics from ICAN (international cesarean awareness network) on basic risks, hopefully they make you feel a little more comfortable.

@mrsman2018 apparently I don’t have carpal tunnel at all! Lol I have dequervain’s?!? Which is fancy tendinitis lol. It’s the tendons in my thumbs which is why my phone usage is such a problem. I didn’t have any numbness or tingling, and that plus where my pain and weakness was made it clear to her. So I have new, more enormous and inconvenient splints now haha. But it seems like it will make a difference. I mean, if I put them back on and put my phone down lol.
@pourmeamocktail@mrsman2018 I had a c-section after I failed to progress with induction, which was scheduled because I had med-controlled gestational diabetes. I’m basically in the same boat this time, and will have to decide to try an induction or do a repeat c-section. I’m pretty convinced that if my cervix is closed up (like it was last time) I won’t try an induction this time.
@BusinessWife Do you have MWs and an OB? I thought you couldn't have both. Hurray for baby being head down!!!

<div>@starla Thank you!!! Yes, I'm SO relieved! So the way it works at my practice, you can choose to see either or, the doctors or midwives. But of course, even if you are "officially" seeing the midwives, it's a good idea to be seen by at least one of the doctors over the course of your pregnancy, so that you have at least <i>met </i>them prior to delivering. Interestingly enough, both doctors I have seen, (there are two more I haven't yet), say it's great if you are going unmedicated -especially, to go with the midwives, because they are so great at helping you through the actual labor part, and then you always have the doctor there on call as a backup, so it's like a two-fer! lol </div><div> </div><div>I'm undecided now if I will make a point to meet the other two doctors - I may still anyway, so I mean if heaven forbid there's an actual emergency, I don't have to be attended to by a complete stranger. But I only have my apts for 37, 38, 39, and 40 weeks yet to schedule :# So maybe it's a little weird to see all the doctors leading up to the end, but pull the MW card when I walk into L&D? Whatever. One way or the other, I just want to do what's best for me and my baby, and what makes us feel as comfortable as possible. Right??? Right. ;) </div>
@mrsman2018 I've had 2 VBAC's and am going for a third.
To start with how far you dilated the first time you are a second time Mom. Ex. I dilated to 8cm before I had a c-section so to that point I was like a 2nd time Mom, after that I was like a first time Mom, so for pushing and delivery.
I lost approx 2 ltrs of blood with my 1st VBAC and still had a 6 week recovery (as I turned down a transfusion) BUT I highly recommend them as with my c-section I had to take it easy for fear of permanently injuring my muscles. With the VBAC I could do whatever my body allowed me to do which was more. Also, for the record, I healed fine.
My second VBAC was one where I walked down the hall to the ward pushing my baby about an hour and a half after deliver AFTER a shower so smooth as anything.
Anyway, I guess that's more the harder part of VBAC's but they are WELL WORTH IT!!! Also, if you have any questions, I am for sure willing to answer them.

@mrsman2018 can’t speak personally but my mom had a scheduled c-section with me (due to my sister being a c-section after hours of pushing due to her big head) and she said the recovery was much easier because she wasn’t so exhausted from so many hours of labor and pushing. On the flip side, if you have a good chance of a vbac then the recovery for that can be easier too (no incision, etc.). Obviously it depends from person to person but if labor is progressing and you don’t *need* a c-section, I’d personally go for the vbac. If they have to induce you or baby is breech or something I’d ask for the rcs.
@mrsman2018 Hold on, your hospital doesn't do scheduled c-sections? What if someone requires a c-section for medical reasons? That's crazy to me, since as @yosemite2018 said recovery is easier from scheduled, PLUS much easier for staff.
Is this the same hospital that told you they do an episiotomy on everybody? Is this hospital in the twilight zone?
