@mamaoftwomonkeys even not pregnant, potty training is highly annoying. We’ve been doing pull ups (despite them slowing our success) just because cleaning up accidents on top of her not telling me when I know she can REALLY pisses me off. I need to take a weekend and double down on potty training.

@nomangos23 *Hugs* I’m sorry the numbers aren’t what you’d hoped for. FX that they keep increasing and you get more reassuring numbers on Wednesday.

So I’m pretty sure I had this conversation today:

Lady at the Pool: you have the cutest swim suits! Where do you find them?

Me: Thanks!! TJ Max and Target

*** after thought did I just say CVS instead of TJMax?! To this minute I have no idea if I said CVS or TJMax ... I guess not sleeping for a few hours last night is taking it’s toll.

Also so my husband volunteered to go to McDonald’s after work to satisfy my craving for a McFlurry... I hope that’s not a constant pregnancy craving!

Ok guys, I need some help!! hopefully I'll get some advice.

I am Matron of Honor in my best friends wedding Nov 16th. We have already ordered the dresses, got them in, and I am now 5wks pregnant. By Nov 16th I will be 26wks pregnant. I am trying to figure out what I can do about the dress.  How do you decide what size to get to account for growing belly? I am hoping they will take the dress back (even for partial credit) and then I can rush order a new one, but do I keep the old one in a bigger size (will that ruin the integrity of the dress and be too big in other areas??), or do I order a completely different dress - but again what size do I go with? UGH! I shouldn't have to stress about this - lol. Thanks in advance! Here are the front and back of the dress so you all have an idea what I'm working with. HELP!!!

@neenbean33 That dress *may* actually work depending on how loose the waist is. The back looks like it gives a little wiggle room. I wasn't showing too awfully much at 23 weeks. Enough to know I was pregnant, but not huge yet.
  • Options
@neenbean33 are you a FTM? Depending on if the waist could be empire you might be fine. I’d call the dress shop and ask their opinion. I doubt this is the first pregnant lady they’ve fitted.

@meggyme yes, I am a FTM. The only trouble is, I am in California and the dress shop is in New Jersey. I would be taking it to a local shop to get the work done. As far as room with the dress, there isn't much give in the abdomen and hip area - that's what I'm afraid of.
  • Options
@neenbean33 for my wedding, my BF was TTC (and she was successful) so she talked to the shop. They suggested going up 2 dress sizes and then ordering extra fabric so the exact sizing didn’t have to be right. I guess it’s something the shop can do in situations where gowns have to be let out. Is there anyway you can get extra fabric or they can order it for you? I imagine any shop could alter it.

Good morning, good morning! I'm loving that our spreadsheet is filling up finally! So excited for this BMB to get going. Whats everyone up to today?

Had to do a ton of walking up and down stairs for work today. Definitely feeling some shortness of breathe. Additionally, I work on ships and I'm wondering when I should stop doing that. Most of my work isn't inherently dangerous for baby, but sometimes (like today) I walk through spaces where I can briefly smell fuel fumes or other strange chemical smells. I can't tell if it's my sense of smell heightened or something I should be worried about. I'm thinking about calling my doctor. My first appointment isn't until mid August.

@meggyme - Yes, potty training is the pits! I can attest from personal experience that having a partially trained 3 year old (that's right, 3 - my girls are STUBBORN) and a newborn is a very taxing challenge. Not at all fun. I tried 3 day potty training with both. I kept to the rules for the first 3 days but as 3 days turned into 5, I guess I just ruin it by getting frustrated. I didn't start until after both had turned 2 which could have been part of the problem but we had just moved when my DD2 was 23 months. It has been slightly easier with my second, and since she will be 3.5 when this bebe comes I am confident we should be accident-free. I'm hoping and praying anyway!

I work in an office 2x a week. This is the first time I've been in since my BFP and it's a (literal) pain!!! I actually feel like I need to get up and walk around! I've also gotten up to pee twice an hour at minimum.... LOL!

@neenbean33 Do they not carry the dress in other stores- perhaps one closer to where you are living? Some dresses don't need to be ordered super far in advance so if you are able to return yours, maybe you could just order closer to the wedding? I also agree with others- talk to the shop because I'm sure they've dealt with pregnant customers before. They would know best. I would also talk to your friend, because maybe she'd be okay with a different dress- one that has more give.

I wasn't showing much at 25/26 weeks FYI, but I don't think I could fit into my normal clothes that were fitted.

@mamaoftwomonkeys Not saying it was fun by any means but I powered through. She had a few regressions later on but that’s pretty normal when they are so young. Woo hoo for going poo in the potty!

    TW: possible chemical pregnancy
My tests aren’t getting darker. In fact, I think they are getting lighter. I got my positive Monday and today would be my missed period. It’s got me feeling like this was somehow all in my head and I’m going crazy.

@meggyme My tests in the week between getting a positive and missing my period were kind of variable. It depends on time of day and your level of hydration when you take them. I know how hard it is not to worry, but you’re not crazy and it’s not all in your head. Sending you lots of support and all the calm and positive vibes.

@maggiemadeit thank you, that helps a lot. I don't know why I have such a dark cloud hanging over this pregnancy so far. I feel very skeptical for some reason. I need to focus on the positive. Today I'm pregnant. Thank you.

@meggyme Lots of positive thoughts being sent your way. I agree with everything maggiemadeit said. Lots of variables. With my DD my tests were much lighter than with this pregnancy and I tested around the same times. Maybe that will help you have a lottle peace of mind.
  • Options
@meggyme Sorry your tests don't seem to be getting darker. My tests were super light early on. I was using wondofos and I don't think the test line was as dark as the control until like 16 or 17 dpo- maybe even a bit later. That whole week, my test colors varied depending on the time of day. I would try not to get worried at this point.

@meggyme I came here to basically say the same thing everyone else has said. If memory serves me you’re still pretty early. I didn’t get a really strong positive until a few days after my missed period. I’m sending you positive vibes and T&Ps  <3

I brought my son to KFC (we never eat here) it was the only thing that sounded remotely good and we didn’t leave the house yesterday so I needed to get out. He’s still eating and I’m ready to bust out of here because I feel like I could throw it all up at any second. Now I’m wondering what in the world I was thinking.

@meggyme These early days are nerve wracking. It appears it's normal to worry, as many of us are doing. What I tried to remind myself in the beginning is that knowing this early (before a missed period), is a relatively new phenomenon, so what is "normal" is not really standard. I know it's easier said than done, but try not to worry  <3

Just scarfed down some chick fil a nuggets and fries for an afternoon “snack”. My only regret is that I didn’t get the 12 piece instead of the 8. I did take DD swimming so I think I earned it!
  • Options
@JLaVO888 My DH is picking me some chick fil up now. Funny how I’ve been nauseous all day but for some reasons nuggets sound amazing.

I was so grouchy on the weekend that my husband brought me to Chick-fil-A for dinner! Didn’t fix it! Ha!

First the chicken tasting bad and now my ramen noodle craving. DH will not get me ramen. I remember last time walking through the store unable to find the ramen and freaking out to DH about it. I NEED ramen!!

@novelblessings I really want to find an "oops I did it again" maternity shirt, but I can't find one I like. They really speak to my inner teeny bopper.

ETA: Also, it's Nordstrom's Anniversary sale and they have some good maternity stuff. I ordered a few pairs of leggings to try on.

@JLavo888 Yeah, I didn't like any of the amazon ones, but that is the lettering I like. I prefer tanks because then I wear them to bed after pregnancy. My next stop is etsy.

@meggyme I have a friend from my last BMB that makes really cute shirts if you don't find anything there. She made DD's first bday shirt and it was adorable.

@Jlavo888 I have a friend that does them too. Her shop is out for maternity leave, but maybe I can convince her to do just one... if not I'll get her info from you.

I tried to get CFA today, but I think everyone who tried to get Build-A-Bears was there too. Ours is always insanely busy, but this was absolutely bonkers.

I ordered a couple of big sister shirt options from my weakness website AliExpress. We also plan to announce to my parents by having DD in her shirt.
  • Options
@swanbrooner Screw this whole BAB fiasco. Why would anyone torture themselves for a stuffed animal??? DD has enough. Hopefully you get your CFA fix soon (before Sunday)!

@meggyme I looked on Etsy for tops. They have a wide variety and you can special order. I also got a top that says running buddy with little baby feet on the belly, for my relay in a few weeks.

I was GBS+ last pregnancy and I really want to try and avoid it this time (if that's even possible). I hate that I had to be strapped to a bed for antibiotics. If I had been able to walk around, I think I would have been able to avoid the epidural. (I was already 5cm when I got to the hospital). I've been googling it and there are some suggestions on how to keep PH levels regulated that may help lower your chances of being +. Any 3TM+ have experience with not testing positive after having tested + the first time?

@JLaVO888 I was gbs+ as well and had an IV stand for fluids and antibiotics and was still able to move around. You might want to ask your hospital about that.
