Re: Randoms w/o 7/9

  • DD is driving me nuts today! She has been horrible the last two days. Over the top needy and whinny. We planned a date night tonight and I’m so excited to get a freak from it.

  • @JLaVO888 bringing it over to the randoms. Thanks, I've been stalking you and @navete and @nomangos23 too. We'll have to start a TTGP check in. I thought I was out because our timing wasn't great. I thought my test yesterday was a bfn for sure, but there was the lightest shadow of a line. Just enough to make me wonder.

  • DS1 is obsessed with Fortnite. I’m so sick of hearing about it.

Also, I’m so freaking tired that all I plan on doing is sitting and watching old episodes of Grey's and maybe folding some laundry.

  • I started peeing on OPKs becuase I was out of HPT and they were way too dark for that late on my cycle so I ran and got a three pack! Ended up only needing one!! Much darker line than with DD and it was only 9DPO! Of course I’ve peed on the rest and several more OPKs!
  • I really hate being treated like I am not capable of doing things while pregnant. Yes, I’m making a human, but my legs, arms, and brain still work! I am not a special snowflake!
  • Yes! I agree! I will tell you when I need help or when I need to back off of doing something. Until then stfu. It’s a main reason I don’t want to tell my next door classroom teacher friend. She is the worst at this. Don’t stand on that chair, don't lift that tissue box, why were you in the bathroom so long....
  • What pregnancy tracking apps are you all using? Last time I used Glow Nurture, but for some reson the interface annoys me now.

  • I’ve downloaded a bunch and so far I’m liking sprout.
  • I used their baby app with DD1. I have to wait for wifi to download the pregnancy one.

  • I like Ovia!
  • @novelblessings Preach. DH was offended that I was falling asleep at 8 last night.
  • Is anyone else’s toddler freaking out? I can’t tell if she’s being this needy becuase she was sick recently or it’s a new thing we are going to be dealing with. We’ve been talking with her a lot about being gentle with my tummy becuase there is a baby inside of it and she’s already taking about a sister so I feel like she’s already getting a patch of jealousy. She’s literally been up my butt today. Like I stood up from going to the bathroom and she stuck a piece of toilet paper in my butt cheeks before I could pull up my pants becuase she needed to help me wipe. She also head butted my crotch the whole time I was trying to fold a basket of laundry. All my usual discipline methods are ineffective today.
  • @JLaVO888 I totally relate. My daughter is 2.5, and smart as a whip. We haven’t exactly told her, but she can tell something is going on. She has been an absolute terror. She has been pushing my buttons, not listening to a thing I say, mixed with being incredibly clingy. She has been appearing in our bed around 2am every night, which really isn’t helping the situation. And my husband has been (I think) overly indulgent of her bad behaviors.

Honestly though, I can’t even tell if the problem is me or her. I am so irratable and needing sleep and personal space. Maybe I am just being overly sensitive to her acting out and clinging?

I know she will be an amazing big sister, but right now I would like to book a babymoon for 1, far far away from here.
  • I don’t know if I want to tell DD about the baby just yet. She’s too verbal and idk what she will say to whom. I might wait until we’ve at least seen the heartbeat to start prepping for big sister duty.

I’m sitting here in orientation because I am new to BNI and all I am craving is hot cheetos.... I’ve gotten up to pee 3x in 2.5 hours... and I am struggling with going from having the urge to puke to looking at my watch to see when lunch is.
I honestly just want to sleep... the entire day. I’m exhausted
  • @maggiemadeit Yes to all of that! I am so irratable and I am so tired of being touched and she wants to be touching me constantly which is just making more grouchy. I feel like I’ve yelled at her more today than in the her whole rest of her life combined. And that makes me feel like a crap person/mom but I’m so over her. We are going on a date night tonight and I can’t wait another seconds for 5 o’clock to get here. It doesn’t help that DH has not had a day off in forever so I’ve been here by myself with her all day every day.
  • @meggyme That is exactly why we didn’t tell our daughter yet - she will tell the world! I have read that with young kids who don’t really understand time that it’s easier to tell them later on. Mine is pretty observant though, so the minute I look pregnant she is going to ask what’s going on.
  • @maggiemadeit yeah, I thought it would be cute to have DD tell our parents she’s going to be a sister when we FaceTime them, but then I thought that her daycare would know, the mailman would know, the grocery store clerk would know... I might just get her a big sister shirt.

  • Eh we told DD right away. Maybe a mistake but she’s been really excited and it’s been really fun seeing her that way. She’s been so sweet patting my belly and kissing it. If she lets it slide I’m not too worried about it but we are bad a secrets so all the people we hang out with in real life already know anyways. Plus she loves to wrestle and she doesn’t understand why I want her to be more gentle unless I explain it to her. She’s been so into babies and after waiting 6 months to get this one I was so excited to get to tell her she gets one. I also want to do one of those time lapse photos things with her and my belly.
  • @meggyme we had a video of her saying she was going to be a big sister that we used to tell our family.
  • @Jlavo888 last time we didn’t keep it a secret, but for some reason I feel less confident. Maybe because I’m older or because we know more people who have had losses, but I feel gun shy about telling people this time. I also don’t want to get DD all excited and then have something happen. But once I start showing and feel like I’m in the clear, I’m excited to talk with her about it.

  • TW* downer talk

@meggyme I get that. Everyone has a different way of processing it. I felt a little crazy for sharing early again this time too. But I know if anything happened I’m the type of person that would need to talk about it and not have a big secret bottled inside of me. I did think about what we would say to DD and I think we would just tell her we are still waiting for baby to get here. Babies take a long time. But anyways off of that stressful subject....
  • @maggiemadeit, a babymoon for 1 sounds totally amazing.  I am right there with you on that idea.

Rant:  DH says I’m not allowed to tell anyone besides thebump/nameberry yet (otherwise I’d probably text my brother and also my cousin).  He says he wants to be able to process it all first and get excited (he’s definitely not there yet).  I really want to savor every minute because it’s likely to be the LAST one—for real this time.  He gets mad at me for looking online at large family pregnancy announcements last night, but won’t get excited with me IRL.  Harsh!

Betas came back.. They're going up  but not doubling. They were 658 on Th and today are 1857. I really had high hopes for this pregnancy, considering last time I had a chemical It took me several days to even get a strong positive pregnancy test. HcG didn't get above 200 last time.

@mschanandlerbong1214 Did your doctor have any insight for you after you had multiple chemical pregnancies?

    Just bummed.

  • @nomangos23 So sorry to hear that. I don’t know much about betas. Did Dr say specificity that it means you are out if they are not doubling?
  • @nomangos23 I’m so sorry to hear that.

  • @JLaVO888 She won't say I'm out yet but the nurse did mention she'd "like to see them higher". Rechecking on Wednesday but I have approximately 0 symptoms and I'm not naive :/
  • I have never used an app besides what automatically is included in P Tracker. I like that fine, and it seems to have decent info.

  • On another random note, anybody else attempting potty training? My 20 month old daughter is starting to get it (peed twice in the potty!) and I’m wondering how much effort to put in and not stress myself out. On the other hand, being potty trained before baby number two arrives would be a dream!
  • @mamaoftwomonkeys DD is 4 now and she just decided at 22 months that it was time to use the potty. I wasn’t ready but she was so we went for it. I ended up doing the three day potty training. First day she ran naked, second day she wanted undies but kept peeing in them, third day she got it and wore pants over her undies.

  • @nomangos23 lots and lots of hugs! Hopefully Wednesday will come quickly so you can have definite answers.
  • @mamaoftwomonkeys I would try to put as little pressure on her as possible. Just take it slow and I’m strides and keep it light and fun for now and you will have the best chance at being successful. DD has some early successes and then took a little dive but is completely done at 26 months old minus over night but I’m not stressing on that at all yet.
  • @mamaoftwomonkeys we are in the throes of potty training DD1 right now.  She's 2.5 and was fully potty-trained right around her second birthday, then her 2-year molars started coming in and she decided that diapers are THE BEST and I haven't approached it again until now.

Everybody tells me that when they're ready, they'll just do it.  I hope that's true because right now it's a STRUGGLE.  And I really would like it to be done before baby 3 arrives!

If this is something a lot of us are dealing with maybe we could do a separate thread?  I'll take all the help I can get!
  • It could certainly be a separate topic. Seems like there’s a lot of STM+ here.

We’re potty training DD. She just turned 2. I’d say she’s 60% daytime trained, but I’ve been a bit complacent lately. If they aren’t showing signs of being ready I’d put it off. It’ll be easier to have 2 in diapers than one half potty trained and a newborn.

  • It also seems like a ton of us have 2 year olds!

First of all I’m so so sorry. T&Ps those number keep going up.

After my 3rd I was referred to and started seeing an RE. We had just finished our initial testing when we got our BFP. If you don’t see one already it might be worth it to ask your doctor for a referral. Mine did a lot of testing that my OB/GYN wouldn’t have.

  • For anyone that is wondering, the book is called “I go potty” from Scholastic. We’ve tried a few but this one seems to be a hit
  • @novelblessings That’s amazing! I wish I had the guts to do the three day thing but I think with my pregnancy irritability it’s not a good idea for my sanity, haha!
