@spartan4life Yeah... I usually buy the day of. I also found with Z that a lot of people didn't mark it as purchased even if they did buy from the registry. And a lot of people who didn't buy from the registry still got me practical stuff that I've used or returned for the version I wanted.
@sliztee - I never buy off registries. I honestly wouldn’t even set them up if it wasn’t kind of expected. I do love lists, and I don’t buy blankets (well, cute fluffy blankets that can’t be used for anything).
I’m sure things are different now than they were last time I attempted to buy off a registry, but I found the process confusing and needlessly stressful. So, I pick out things that I think people will either enjoy (weddings), or likely aren’t going to get enough of (babies).
Honestly, I’ve lost count of the number of items that I have removed/replaced on my registries because they are discontinued, not available, out of stock, etc. So, to me, even having the registry is kind of a hassle.
Woke up with pain in my jaw, tenderness when I open and close. Not sure if it's a symptom or if I'm clenching or something at nighttime.
Really getting in the way of some delicious coffeecake this morning though, so it needs to stop.
Have you had TMJ before? Since pregnancy screws with your ligaments anyway, it can make it easier to screw up your jaw. Kinda like carpal tunnel. I had major jaw pain in the first trimester,
I didn't bother putting much in the way of clothes or diapers on the list. Mostly because I'm lazy and it was stressful figuring out how much of each. But also, people are gonna buy what they want to buy. Plus clothes keep going out of stock or out of season.
Did my glucose test today and just felt bleh all day and baby was super active. Idk why sugar is affecting me this pregnancy. I wanted to crash afterward. I haven't a received a call so I dont think I have GD. Just maybe a huge sugar rush. Found out my baby is about 1 lb 13 oz so close to 2 pounds! Hope everyone elses glucose tests went ok!
I also don’t really care about registries. The best presents we got at our wedding were not things we registered for. I still make them for people who want guidance. I also don’t usually buy on registry for baby showers because it’s fun looking for cute clothes and stuff in person and I think people expect guests to do that and so they put fewer clothes on their registry. For weddings it depends on the couple, how well I know them, and how particular they are. Always include gift receipts though.
Regarding jaw - my chiro and Dr said the ligaments loosen up (relaxin) and can mess with your jaw. I had issues with mine for a while. I hate lists for Christmas and birthday's if I know the person. But I am all for wedding registries and baby registries!!
So weird, but I feel like my bellybutton got.. less flat? Then it was getting. Don't get me wrong I'm not ready for it to pop out quite yet but I feel like it shouldn't be going in reverse either
I used to have a really deep belly button... not so much anymore!
I've also gone up 2-3 bra cup sizes, which is slightly annoying, because I've been in a constant state of trying to find new, cheap, comfortable bras, with no idea how much more I'm gonna grow!
My boobs still haven't gotten much bigger, I went up in band size though. I kind of feel like my belly is close to the same size as last week, I'll compare with tomorrows ticker change picture!!
Ugh this cramping. I think I'm dehydrated again. Looks like 60-70oz of water a day are not enough. Trying to drink more, but I just feel sick this morning and that's not helping. Switching to some hot tea for now.
@HoosOnFirst I haven't had TMJ, only experienced something similar once before a few years ago when I was super stressed, but I'm also guilty of cracking my jaw every once in a while which I know I shouldn't do. (I carry tension in my shoulders/neck and feel like it ends up extending into the jaw, too).
It's gone away the last couple nights so hoping it's not a permanent thing.
Also, maybe I just don't understand people who don't buy off a registry. They must be the same people who don't believe in Christmas and birthday lists.
possible UO but, while i understand lists/registries, i don't feel obligated to purchase from them. That being said, for a baby shower i almost always go off of them because people want/need such different things for babies (although i am also a knitter so something handmade and adorable, but still practical, will certainly be added to the bag). but my sil just asks us/kids what she should buy and tells us what to buy for her kids (never unreasonably priced, and she would be fine if we bought nothing, so it is not like she is asking us for it in that way) but it really takes all of the fun out of gift giving. if everyone is just going to wrap up exactly what they are told to buy, then why don't we all just buy things for ourselves and skip the whole gift exchange part? To me a list or registry should be ideas for people who don't know what to gift, but not a list for the gifters to check off. In case this sounds judgmental...I am totally with @SawyerRichardson in that if it is not a handmade gift i probably picked it up and wrapped it that day, most likely in your driveway! I just like surprises, given and received.
@krzyriver Have you tried drinking sparkling water? I was having trouble getting enough water at the beginning when I often felt sick, and I felt like a La croix or something along those lines helped settle my stomach and gave me some of the extra water I was missing. Hope you feel better!
I like to buy something off the registry, and then a little something extra.... like usually a wubbanub if I can find a cute one that goes with their theme or something.
@spartan4life Yeah, I actually never drank La Croix until this pregnancy and I was drinking it by the case for awhile there. I haven't remember to buy it in awhile tho. I'll send H to the store tonight!
I drank a lot of La Croix before I got pregnant, but I can’t drink it fast enough to get my water intake goals for the day (especially now that it is getting miserably hot outside.)
Also, now that I’m not drinking it all the time, it kind of tastes sour with some bitter notes to me.
I don’t like many of the La Croix flavors, and also drank it rarely prepregnancy. But now that I’ve found about 3 flavors I like, I have been drinking it way more often. Plus it breaks up the boring plain water. I don’t love pop because it’s too sugary for me.
I only like a few flavors as well. I could drink the passionfruit all day long and there's a cranberry I like. Wasn't a fan of some others but I haven't tried that many either.
Bubly (the new sparkling water by Pepsi) has been on super sale all the time lately, so we've been trying different flavours. I like the apple the best on its own (but don't love it). What I *do* love is mixing them with juices and lemonades for faux cocktails. Fella even makes them for me in our champagne flutes sometimes.
I feel bad about all the sugar, but I've been having a Canada Dry just about every night for like 3 months. Honestly, it prompts the greatest burps and I can go to sleep without indigestion.
@chyvie I’m in NY!! I have heard of it, but not enough to know what it is if somebody just said the name. Maybe we don’t have it here either... if I remember I’m going to look for it next time I go shopping.
@chyvie@purplegoldfish2 I had never had one until about a month ago and hated it. People rave about it so I decided to try it and couldn't do more than 2 sips. So disappointed..
I always look at the registry, but don’t always buy off of it. Some of my best received gifts have been not on my wedding (platter with interchangeable holiday accents) and baby (nursing survival kit) registry and some if my most useless gifts have been things I registered for (nursing cover that was solid black).
Completely random, but the worst gift I ever received was underwear, like think Granny white undies not in the package. I have an Aunt who has many issues and she always sent us unique gifts and cards from her cat.

My belly button hasn’t been a reliable indicator of anything...
