@mamabearcj texture is a huge thing for me...I can't stand anything with gelatin- jello, flan, etc. I can handle a custard or keylime/lemon meringue pie sometimes, but not if it's made with gelatin. But I love creme brulee and I do like cheesecake. Can't explain it lol.
@jemmerjams completely understand! I can eat puddings and pudding pies even the chocolate jello pudding but sometimes mashed potatoes get to me, gummies oddly enough, it's weird
While on the dessert bashing topic. I can’t stand banana cream pie. It’s my grandma’s “specialty” and everyone in the family loves and raves about it. I eat it to be polite, but really wish I didn’t have to.
For whoever doesn't like cake I'll eat it for you! At least the chocolate cake and cheesecake... But there's a cake that is popular here called Jello cake. Bake a normal white/yellow cake, poke holes in it and pour Jello over it, top with pudding, then cool whip... Just ew!
+1 for not really liking cake. I feel like it’s a social obligation to eat it. But @mamabearcj I’ll take all your cheesecake! As long as it’s actually real cheesecake and not the fake stuff with cool whip in it. My wedding cake was actually a white chocolate raspberry cheesecake.
For the meal kits I suggest Tastefully Simple meal kits. This is probably a UO but Yes it is a home party but you can go to the company website and order just through the company and not any specific sales person. Super affordable, easy, and taste great! You do have to go grocery shopping but you get a grocery list so you can do it quickly or do the grocery pick up if your store offers it. We have been using it for a couple years and love it! Think it ends up only being about $3 per person after you buy groceries

@coffee-saur my grandma makes jello cake. I LOVE it!
I’m totally a sweets person. I love just about everything. I however cannot stand chocolate that has been ruined with berries. I hate chocolate covered fruit or chocolate filled with fruit filling.
I have to catch up here! 1.Cake is amazing, but only well made cake. I will also take all the pie, cheesecake, and pretty much any other dessert. 2. My craving with DD was jello. I couldn't get enough. I couldn't control myself around it and would eat all the package I made in one sitting. 3. mmmmm coffeeeeee 4. We are team Plated. We had free boxes from a referral for Blue Apron and Hello Fresh but we just weren't into the options and never ordered them. We tend to be on the foodie spectrum though and like to try stuff we wouldn't normally make.
WOW I'm shocked at all the coffee haters! I love coffee and cake!! I'm obsessed with the royal wedding and will be up bright and early tomorrow morning watching the wedding!!!
Also wanted to add, I love coffee. Espresso is life. I was so upset that coffee was a major food aversion 1st tri, but I'm happy to report it's back on the menu.
Also, I'm iffy about cake. It's very meh to me. My UO is why do people like the naked cake trend? So gross, you are literally just eating cake. The frosting is the best part, if it's buttercream or creamcheese frosting. If not, why bother eating cake? Ice cream is way better.
Also, I'm not a big brownie or cookie fan, but if it's served with ice cream, then it's mighty tasty.
Agree, the cake has to be well made! There is nothing worse than a dry cake that just sticks to the roof of your mouth.
I had a naked cake at my wedding #sorrynotsorry It was red velvet with cream cheese frosting, moist, and so delicious. I also like to scrape the icing off my cupcakes bc it's sometimes way too sweet. I know, I'm weird.
All I've been craving lately though is cake and cupcakes. Before being pregnant I hated chocolate (I guess that's an UO?) But now all I want is like a triple chocolate fudge cake with cherries on top. Mmmm
I can’t believe all you guys that don’t like cake! While you’re over here talking about not liking cake, I baked myself a cake after work last night! it’s suchhhh a good cake though, just rich chocolatey deliciousness in loaf-pan form, with no frosting (https://smittenkitchen.com/2010/08/everyday-chocolate-cake/ for any cake lovers out there). It’s honestly one of my favorite cakes for when I’m really just craving something indulgent. I’m not usually a fan of much frosting because I find it too sweet, so this cake is perfect since it doesn’t have any. Just perfect with a nice dallop of fresh whipped cream!
I’m trying to catch up. Moving is taking over my life and I am losing track of...like everything else. My 3 year old walked out of the house yesterday and I didn’t know until our friend walked her up to the door. Wtf! Needless to say I’ve been off the grid here so I missed the lurking nonesense. I just don’t see how someone would walk into a room full of strangers and get on the mic.... say hello first maybe? I mean I was WAY late to this board but I am trying to read everything and get to know everyone Bc the whole point of these boards is to build a community of support. Not to rage and yell our opinions at one another.
UO I hate chocolate. Always have. It’s super gross.
I love chocolate, pretty much anything chocolate that doesn’t have nuts in it. I mostly love cake unless it’s dry, and it does need some sort of frosting. However, I prefer cheesecake, brownies, ice cream or chocolate chip cookies.
Don't like coffee at all or anything coffee flavored
Cake is good with a good frosting, ice cream cake (dairy queen!) is good.
My UO I cringe when adults say Toot around other adults and no kids present. I still cringe hearing the word toot even out of a kids mouth but it isn't as bad.
I get the vagina thing, like I know the names of the various parts, but I think I use vagina like I use the word mouth. I don't get super specific about the parts of my mouth, I use it as a general term describing the overall area. Does that make sense?
@jennybean80 - Eww. But I guess it makes sense if you didn’t pay attention in high school biology. After all, guys pee and ejaculate from the same hole.
But still, eww. And how would you get a nice smooth stream? You need a little hole for that, otherwise, it would be all over the place, wouldn’t it?
To add to this, adults who refer to the penis as pee-pee, wee-wee, or any other stupid "cutesy" name instead of penis. In fact, any stupid "cutesy" name for genitals makes me eye roll so hard I get a headache. If you're not mature enough to say penis or vulva or vagina, maybe you're not mature enough to be raising kids?

All of my ultrasound pics are still in one strip from Wednesday. I was showing family after and felt so weird explaining that the one picture was my son's penis. I just felt it was so personal. But I knew I'd get questions of what it was.
We're a no Santa household. No Easter bunny or tooth fairy either. DD knows Santa as a character in a story and nothing more. We don't even discuss the Easter bunny because we are a Pagan family and celebrate Ostara, not Easter.

I’m also guilty of using the term vagina but I DO know the difference! When my mom let me switch to tampons (11) I thought you had to take them out to pee
I think it's good for every family to have their own traditions, especially if they're based on personal religious (or non-religious) choices. I always find it weird when non-Christians celebrate Easter.
@jynjer91 I think that's a common confusion. Still hilarious though!

Re: UO 5/17
Also not a cake fan... I can do sweets in small doses only. And keep the frosting away unless it’s cream cheese!!
I eat it to be polite, but really wish I didn’t have to.

agreed with all of you. Add to the vajayjay thing - people who don’t know the difference between the vulva and the vagina...
There seems to be a lot of people who just don’t know the difference.
But still, eww. And how would you get a nice smooth stream? You need a little hole for that, otherwise, it would be all over the place, wouldn’t it?
@knottieamusements not knowing the difference is crazy to me
